  • The writers thought, "There's an Air-n-Space Museum, so people should be able to talk, breath, and have their capes flap in space."

  • @NukesWasteOurTaxes You DO realise that almost all of your comments are being flagged as spam, don't you? Get off YouTube, troll.

  • "for a message to be conveyed properly it needs to be coherently"

TRANSLATION: Unless a film sufficiently entertains spoiled white fanboys, it's dismissed NO matter HOW important it is!

Get your priorities straight: Special effects woN'T mean jack of shit if there's a nuclear holocaust.

  • @NukesWasteOurTaxes

People aren't interested in your preachy lame comments, especially when you blame nuclear weapons on "white people".

  • 3:12 is he reading Spider-man Maximum Carnage?

  • So, anyone seen the Iron Giant? It does a better anti-war message than Superman IV ever will.

Heck, it was also a better superman movie. And it only references superman!

  • @RikiOhRed

The Iron Giant wasN'T nearly as OVERTLY anti-nuclear as The Quest for Peace, and even if it was, there are FAR MORE IMPORTANT things in life than whether some already colossally spoiled by generations of privilege white fanboy out of suburbia was sufficiently entertained! You sound like the sultans of old, who would chop someone's head off if the dancing girls weren't on stage fast enough ... FOR SHAME.

  • @NukesWasteOurTaxes It wasn't so much about the Nuclear Fears of the Cold War, but War in general. The human characters seemed realistic to how they would have likely been in the 50's, and treated the idea of killing very seriously.

The robot itself is an interesting character with emotions, who wanted to learn, play, and demonstrated pacifism and innocence, even disregarding its violent defense mechanism for the sake of his best friend.

It was a well written, intelligent anti-war film.

  • @NukesWasteOurTaxes Hm, last time I checked, you can't just tell someone's ethnicity that easily.

Do you protect any other films besides Superman IV? I've also seen your sock puppet accounts, like that 'demondog45.' It kind of gives it away if you post the same thing repeatedly with the same accounts.

  • @RikiOhRed

You're confused: Demondog was an asshole I debunked. He's NOT me.

Who am I? I'm a 42 year old black man who saw Quest 4 Peace when it first came out and decided then and there NOT to join the military -- as I almost did, at the naive age of 18 -- and joined the Peace Movement instead ...

If this movie, FLAWED AS IT MAY BE, could be that inspiring to ME, imagine how many more peace activists it could've recruited if you bitchy snarks had left it the fuck alone?

  • @NukesWasteOurTaxes Funny. You debunked him more than once. Same exact words each time.

I didn't ask who you were. And what happened to the peace movement, or whatever else you did? I could have sworn there was far more a person could do to help other than spam comments. 42 isn't that old.

If you enjoy this film, go ahead. But why don't you leave the rest of us alone? I'm sorry, but not everyone enjoyed it the same way you did.

  • @NukesWasteOurTaxes look mate you have an opinion, and its good to see that you did actually go out there and make something of your life, im sort of the opposite and I want to join the Australian Air Force to fly peacekeeping operations, but an opinion is an opinion, we are all entitled to one, this is his. im sure that you have better things to do then spam, I like some of the movies he reviews but hey I dont mind. we all know the danger of nuclear munitions and that we should disarm them

  • @Gam3rzulu

"we all know the danger of nuclear munitions and that we should disarm them"

Then get to fucking work! The sanctity of Human life is NOT an "opinion" ...

... my God! Superman IV: The Quest for Peace did ITS part to promote nuclear abolition -- WHAT ARE *YOU* DOING to end this madness ??

  • @NukesWasteOurTaxes what am I doing to end this madness? well training to go out there in deploy peace and stability to countries like east timor wich is now back on its feet after a sucessful Aussie led operation. a message within a movie does not necessarily make the movie good, NC is not analysing the message within the film, but entertainment value, and for a message to be conveyed properly it needs to be coherently, this film did its part but hese just analysing it a film critic

  • @Gam3rzulu

"What am I doing to end this madness?" Get the crickey OFF of youtube, get ONTO google and find an anti-nuclear organization to join! My God, man! Dr. Helen Caldicott -- the greatest anti-nuclear activist who ever lived -- is FROM your native Australia! Contact HER! Ask HER how to end this madness!

What? Do I have to hold your hand too?

  • @NukesWasteOurTaxes that was a rhetorical question, I was saying that the air force is how I plan on ending any madness, the nostalgia critic is a comedy, he reviews it based on ENTERTAINMENT value only - he just points out the flaws, he doesnt disagree with the message that is portrayed its just, for many people this film didnt portray the message well and was a bit jumbeled,
