First time I've ever heard someone say boost the lows, scoop the mids and boost the highs to get a better cutting sound for solo's. That's a surefire way to make your sound dissappear in the mix.
@Stringprodigy do you use the effects loop with a pedal board? Do you use the switch that came with it or a pedal board 3rd party switcher like bradshaw??
@Bflatest Hey man, I just got it today so I'm still fiddling with it. So far in the loop all I've used is the clean boost side of a Kingsley Jester and it sounded great. Gonna try out the delay in the loop tomorrow. The switch that came with it is what I've been using. It's pretty cool. Reverb defeat, contour defeat, and channel switching. Bright LED's too for dark stages, and different colours (green/red) assigned to the two channels so you always know which one you're on. Reverb is blue.
@robertkolbuch Wow. There is a product built in the USA! Keep the faith and rock on. Oh, and my deluxe reverb, even though chicos may have built it. It spins tone around that blown speaker your playing through. To each his own and rock on!
I just hook the Mesa 5:25 up to a 2x12 cabinet brings out bottom end. Sounds great man. 5 watts at home. 25 setting a gigs. small gigs I just unhook the cab and take the combo 1x10 and mic it. Workingman's amp.
The mic is not so "rubbish" as said. Try it out before you got on a blind marriage with him.
I don't find it's an incredible amp. He have good things in him and it's surely not a garbage piece. But don't think it's a little recto because you will be disappointed. They was a lot of different low wattage amps, with other personnalities that I find better.
Get an ear on MJW, Retro king 18w, or mojave's Scorpion. They are absolutely gorgeous to ear and cheaper as 2k $ aked in EU for this 5:25.
This amp is WAY better sounding than this demo demonstrates - The cleans are soft and bright, the crunch is really sweet and ranges from slightly broken up to very tasty crunch. The Blues setting goes from substantial clean but thick tones to full on creamy sustain (not super high gain - but proper blues sustain) and the Burn channel is more gain than I would ever use but it is there. I use it with a Strat, with single coils, and the two go together for incredibly versatile set up.
i just picked up a use one.. there was an issue with the reverb not working..i took the reverb out and top off...a small green wire was broken. i had to replace a plug it was attached to it but i have some spare parts..
the reverb isnt good though.. the one on my space echo is better..
if you want a good sound out of this amp..you have to dig and don't hesitate to put the controls to max or minimun..i found that the overdrives don't like the 12 o'clock all the way..
i jus tried this amp plus the stiletto combo n the stiletto kicks its ass, not that this isnt a good amp its just kinda dark sounding but thas good if u like that
Nah.. the mic sucks.. and he only used his neck pickup. So that made the burn channel sound like shit. Trust me.. with the settings tweaked.. it's a beastly little amp.
Yeah the clean sound for a second there you could tell it had balls but this guy must not be able to hear in his old age and dialed up some harsh tones.

One of the best Boogie's there is. The old Subway Rocket is close and hundreds of dollars less on Ebay.

MrJackanthony 1 year ago
@MrJackanthony Just guessing, but maybe it was reference to the Fender role in the Boogie's origins..
(It started life as a massively hot rodded Fender princetone)
Guitarsthatkill 1 year ago
@Guitarsthatkill Yeah that's probably it. Thank you sir. I actually had no idea of fenders history with boogie. makes my love for both brands grow...
