  • Is this the Gluttony model?

  • Actually, you are exactly right. IF this was a usual log home. But these logs are fully kiln dried so there is zero settling and shrinkage; the stain penetrates deeper and lasts longer; we use the top stain/finish in the world, so maintenance is a piece of cake.

  • That would be a nightmare to maintain!!

  • This is what God whant's for me and wife and children.

I' ll pray every day for my lord and i'll thank our father for every day.

Our father, i lover you more than myself.

Live in peace white this beuatifull house.

  • If it doesn't have a private 9 hole golf course I am not interested.

  • How much is it to buy one of these?

  • Very nice! I like the inside of my friends more but I really like the outside of that one! I really want to live in one. Does anyone know if they are cheap for heat/ac bills?

  • What is the name song?

  • This is my house in my dreams... :/ <3

  • THOSE POOR TREES!!!!!!!!!!!

  • it looks like a freaking cabelas!!!! :) very nice

  • It is very nice, but far from the most beautiful.

  • cuanto cuanto¡¡

  • We've got homes like this in Ky > No big deal ...

  • I would love to live in a log home.

  • bit too disney for me

  • Actually log homes are much safer from fires than stick built homes. The data is there. kevbo091 below did not do his homework.

  • @lepaka1 I think he was just making a joke, that's all.

  • Oops i dropped a candle...

  • Whew Imagine dusting and waxing all that wood. Hard to keep clean

  • Get R Done : } now I lay my head down to sleep and dream of trees and tools 11:47 pm

  • I want mine built in Austria with a view of the alps

  • Thats my House!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I've got a 6000 sq ft log home with 9" logs and thought our home was big. Geeeesh! Thanks for the video... gives me some ideas for mine! If you're thinking of a log home, make sure that you're aware of the maintenance required for such an investment. But believe me, IT'S WORTH IT!

  • How much is this log house

  • beatiful! hunters pardise!

  • @bigspagetti Ah, Isnt' it great that we each can build what we consider to be beautiful and appropriate to meet our family's needs?

  • @lepaka1 I agree. I should add to my recent comment - term "in opinion" ;)

  • Actually, DIYLogHomes, is incorrect. That home can meet current standards. The writer is misinformed. In fact, larger logs do not necessarily ensure that the code can me met. The type of wood species used was Eastern White Pine....the top rated species for wood construction .

  • It is a shame that a beautiful log home is built with such small logs, 8 inch logs will not meet the new 2009 energy codes. What type of wood was used?

  • some day i will make my moms dream come true and ill by her a mansion because she deserves it because all she has done for in ll my entire long life i love you mom for ever just wait the time will come and ill by you your mansion i love you mom with all my hearty

  • One of the nicest houses ive ever seen.

  • 7 people couldn't comprehend that much awesome under one roof...

  • naa there are a lot nicer log homes than this - just because a house is big - dont mean it's beautiful -

  • It is a pretty house but it didn't move me, I hated the outside setting because it reminded me of a hotel and not a home, also the interior was little too polished for my liking, if it were mine then I build it someplace a little more rugged and build it a a little more rustic.

More Mclog mansion than log cabin in my eyes

  • it looks like cabelas

  • it just isn't a log home unless you build it yourself

  • That is some seriously gay music.

  • f*** this I choose the 10.9 million one in Vail, its better put together, and i think that cold days with snow, mountains, and a forest to o with it is the proper setting for a log home, not summer and sun... just a personal preference

  • seen better

  • my dream home i wish i can have this home for my children and i,wow they would love it,maybe if i started to play the lotto lol super home.

  • Masterpiece!

  • wow fantastico

  • thats not a home, its a museum

  • I dont like log cabins with fireplaces :D i burned like 5 down :P

  • @monstaman900 ...then your an idiot...they started with fireplaces...wood stoves came along much later...i guess you just turn up the thermostat and plug in your electric blanket...

  • This is a beautifull home. We build chalets and wooden houses with red cedar.

  • My 1380 sq.ft. log cabin off Scenic Arkansas 7 can not come close to this in the size of logs or shear size but I have a $1million view. What that means is all I see from 3 sides is National Forest Ouachita Mtns. Okay i can see a right of way high power line but it is pine pole and not a steel structure. Not braggin, it's just a fact.

  • It's not a log home unless u see snow and mountains.

  • it's beautiful but PETA would have a field day burning it down...

  • @supah1337b

    Isn't that true everywhere?

  • is that cabelas?

  • Wow, beautiful, but what's the point?!

  • Don, the point is that this is their family home. They love entertaining, cooking, having lots of guests and having enough space for their family to enjoy both the inside and outside.

  • Beautiful! That's one word that is coming to my mind now.

  • Im from Georgia, and property value will go up if you have a a beautiful house on your property.

  • All you need to add to the front is a bronze elk and you have another Cabelas store because thats what it looks like.

  • @Hardcorediver44

And what boring type house do you live in with your 2.5 kids in a neigborhood that your neigbors can hear you talking to each other. I like to shoot my gun from the porch!

  • As far as need --- I would not be judgmental regarding size. I know the owners, their use of the space may well be justified and needed. and responsible. Maintenance on fully kiln dried logs is very, very minimal as opposed to any other log type so the owners made a wise choice there too.

  • Regarding the wise use of resources that Dennis Pack refers too ----There is absolutely no more wise use of renewable resources than by building a full log home of any size. Log is the ultimate renewable resource and our logs all come from sustainable forests.

  • Does anybody really need 7800 sq ft? How many acres of forest were destroyed to produce this? I'd like to see more consideration for the world's dwindling resources.

Nice "house" otherwise ... I guess you can afford someone to come in and do all the yearly maintenance ... I sure wouldn't want to tackle it!

Happier with my 1500 sq ft log "home".

  • Really nice... what a monster!

  • the outhside is stunning - but pity about the inside mod cons -

  • there isn't a single thing about this place that makes me think of a log cabin

  • Ah in some parts of the U.S. you are correct. However, please understand that a 'cabin' are considered any type of wood home in every part of the world except in in parts of the U.S. This lovely home my not reflect your image of a rustic, roughly made, small home but it is typical of many log homes; albeit a bit larger.

  • @thebigskynow

That is because it is a log home. Over 1350 sq. ft. borders on log home instead of cabin. I like to think of mine as a cabin. For all you Class Warfare junkies out there I also have a typical subdivision brick veneer/real stucco home in another state as my main crib. Except i have it on 2 acres and not breathing down the neck of my neighbors. When the grand kids grow enough to lose interest I am selling the subdivision and moving to the cabin to live out my days.

  • Sorry ... but it looks like a "Cabela's" outdoor store! If you're going to build a "gated community palace", why bother with logs and not just use the typical plastic siding? Where's the rustic warmth and coziness, the invitation to touch one's heritage? For me, a log home should invite the outdoors, indoors ... other than what you might carry in on your shoe.

  • Yes, they were 8x8 logs but they had a handcrafted finish. The owners live there full time. See the current issue of Country's Best Log Home for a full story on this home.

  • pff only 8 inch logs?

  • I bet whoever owns this doesnt even live there full time

  • u got to be loaded to afford this

  • Can you please tell me the name of the song being played with this video? It's lovely, and I'd like to learn it myself.

  • I would also like to know the songs name.

  • ok when I win the lottery this will be my house:)

  • @porsalainheart so you're saying this will never be your house?

  • i hate wood

  • i hate wood

  • @hawaii89jaklin ... then why watch and post a worthless view? I know, I know,, you couldn't resist to post like a dummy

  • @hawaii89jaklin

I hate people who hate wood.

  • my dream :')

  • but how to clean upper big windows easily ??

What tipe of heating system is used in this house in order to keep it warm through winter time without spending a loooooot fo money for that purpose??? It looks like this house is only for those, who have much more money like the house has wood :-) ...

  • what color stain is that, Anyone?

  • Oh I love wood, & to be surrounded by it in a home like this... very nice, & spacious too. There isn't much I would change about this house. The first things I would toss would be all of the decapitated dead stuffed animals hanging on the walls; & any table with antler legs would be replaced as well. Also, NO nasty carpet anywhere in this house. Area rugs only. I'm not sure anyone really needs 7800 sq feet; geeze, what would the taxes be on this little cottage ? But if you've got the green...

It's fun getting a free tour to see these superb homes.

  • Not half bad, although I'd rather have it if it were in Colorado.

  • @carnut476

  • @sirstabnkill i also very often use this word. and now it makes me lought :)

  • wow, I wish I lived in that house

  • this home is very beautiful

  • its so picture perfect it looks like it was built on the sims :)

    awesome

  • I think it's the music that's reminding you of "The Sims."

  • @leroyinc yeah :D haha probably

  • this way of building is fantastic, here in Italy people love the house made with cement to die under to the first earthquake! Here we make the heads of the people with the wood!!

  • I saw the title and said, "Yeah, let's see." Now, having seen the video, I'll say it's certainly "one of the most beautiful I've seen."

  • I am from Australia and am into log houses, ranches and A-frames. Its a pity they havent really been that popular in AUstralia compared to the States as they all look beautiful and meticolously sculpted with the highest quality timber and stone materials. If anyone is interested in bringing this type of construction to Australia I would happily "lend a hand" in helping make it work because I too would like to see the same depth of quality in the Australian housing market.

  • @sebbbo77 Where in Australia are you from? I'm going to try to get a work visa and move somewhere around Brisbane.

  • oh ok I'm from Adelaide. Maybe we can start a design studio? My passion would be to build a-frames for the "kit homes" market. Not an architect or a draftsman but am keen to do something like this..... maybe I'm over my head or out of my depth but it is a passion of mine. Cheers Sebbo.
