Organic or not - calves are still separated from mothers at only a day old. Confined and slaughtered to make veal. A horribly cruel industry for an unhealthy product. Go Vegan
If all u animal rights People want better conditions for cows then u could start by giving the british farmer a decient price for our products. We would love to be able to provide a top notch standard of living for our animals but funds do simply not alow. Also if u want to help these animals then do not buy from large retailers. I must also add that organic farming has so many loop holes that the milk is not 100% organic as you can use inorganic feed to a certin % if u want to help buy local.
cont..... especially when the so called organic farmers have asked to have a 'break' from producing organically while the credit crunch is forcing people to buy cheaper milk. Does this mean they are going to start cramming cows into sheds with no light and no life? No. It means they will feed them a different, cheaper, non-organic food.
cont.....I do think that intensively rearing ANY animals is bad, bad, bad and I praise the likes of Jamie and Hugh bringing it to the attention of so many million people. But just because milk isn't being organically produced DOES not mean that the cows are intensively reared. Likewise, organically produced milk does not necessarily mean a life of free roaming outside in beautiful green fields. All cows come in in the winter and can be put into cramped conditions.
This video makes no sense........ cows still need to have a calf to produce milk whether its organically produced or not. I agree excess calve are a big issue in the dairy industry but saying that cheap milk is the cause is madness. If people want to make a difference to the dairy industry DON'T BUY FROM SUPERMARKETS THAT REAP ALL THE PROFITS!!!
It's only a matter of time before awareness is raised and this issue is sorted out like Hugh Fearnley Whittingstall did with chickens and Jamie Oliver's doing with pigs. Onwards compassion, onwards! :-) 5/5 stars
Thanks for the comments. Hugh and Jamie are doing a great job to help raise awareness, however the issue isnt yet sorted out and unfortunately, thousands of chickens and pigs are still intensively farmed every year in the UK. For more information please visit our website via the link in the video information box (top right).
We always buy organic milk and I think anybody who doesn't should be locked up like that, made pregnant, milked, and watch their baby taken out of them and exported to europe on lorries for hours and hours. Yes. Then I think something might change...
there were no animals harmed in this video,WASTE OF BANDWIDTH!!

cont...... I applaud CIWF for highlighting many things but blaming intensive farming on non-organic producers is bizarre and non-sense.

This is really cool. And I totally agree, all animals, domestic or not, should be treated well.
