Hey Martin, I have to say love the care of the trees, just finished drinking my first year of blackberry and apple wine!!! two years to age ?? sorry not a chance. Am just eying up a couple of birch trees here in the local estate and tapping gear at the ready. Thanks for info great stuff ta.
Veery good video man, i knew about birch sap and the things u can make of it, but never a video about actualy brewing beer or wine. i find it very interesting and i would love to see a video about explaining the whole process and the "recepie", for instance if i had 5l of sap, how much sugar and lemon should i add? subed and looking for more=)
@nitrousair - Its just food grade plastic tubing - You can get it from any home brew supply shop + many diy stores & of course the web but I also spotted something similar in a motor accessory shop the other day - windscreen washer tubing. Usually about 60p a meter.
@pureprotea1- 'White collar conservative flashin down the street, pointing that plastic finger at me, they all assume my kind will drop and die, but I'm gonna wave my freak flag high' - Jimi Hendrix. If everyone took a leaf out of Jimi's book the world would be a much more colourful & chilled place - probably a lot greener as well! He he! Easynow.
@TheBushcraftBoys - Just keep all the equipment as sterile as possible, its a lot of effort to go through to have it turn to vinegar. Take care of the trees & make sure you drill as shallow a hole as is necessary. Good luck.
Really nice, a real bushcrafty treat, very fresh. That particular brew was 11.6% so some sugars left so it turned out a sweeter wine - usually the way I like it - especially for camping.
After all the tapping, weeks of brewing & years of waiting they are a little precious to sell but I'm sure I could part with a bottle for £100, ha ha lol. Seriously though I made twelve bottles that year & I missed the sap the year after so I don't have much left sorry. Try making some yourself its easier than people think.

Would you sell a bottle off wine? Or do you not have that much?
