Having been a Sweet fan since Wigwam Bam,although it was New York Connection that caught my attention, and having seen various line-ups including the original at the Hammersmith Odeon for the Level Headed tour in my humble opinion I wish I had seen this concert because after Brian this is my favourite vocalist. He doesn't try to be Brian and he puts his own unique stamp onto each song giving them a vibrancy that I haven't heard since.
Since most footage of the original band is on shows like Top of the Pops, aka not live, I enjoy seeing Mick Tucker & Andy Scott playing live in this video. I wish there was live video of the Original Sweet from th 70's! Notice, Micks strong drumming still carry this song and Andys guitar riffs still shine thru!
I was there at the front near Andy Scott, great show still remembered. Brian was there too but stood at the side bar all night. Good guy though, talked to everyone, really friendly. Pity the video doesn't show the strippers that came on stage with the band in the encore.
Brian (RIP) was very much like Vince Neil and Rob Halford. Not the best technical singer his band had, but he had that vital something that just can't be replaced. Sometimes it's one of the "backup" musicians too: GNR started sucking right after they lost Izzy, and (while they got more successful) Metallica never really replaced Cliff.
Hey don't get me started on Kiss! Ace and Peter are as much Kiss as Paul and Gene.Saw the original lineup in Sydney Australia when they did the first reunion and again without Peter, both times were great but I only saw the real Kiss once. You do know what i mean
@chrisz61 Paul Mario Day was a excellent singer, and many even think the best for any Sweet lineup. Brian in 1986 coulden't sing, his voice was shredded and damaged from heavy alcohol abuse. Look up the 1988 reunion Sweet Ballroom Blitz here on youtube, his voice was awful and horrendus. Sounded like a wounded dog. In the 80's Paul Mario Day did just as well as Brian did in the 70's.
@tatethompson1234 After listening to the 1988 reunion ballroom blitz I understand what you mean.Be that as it may i still prefer Brian's voice and it is such an integral part of the sweets sound.I mean if the Beatles reunited with anew rhythm and lead guitarist, regardless of how good they might be they would never be The Beatles>I hope you understand what i mean

@chrisz61 Yeah I feel the same way about Kiss, without Ace and Peter it's not Kiss. But as much as I hate seeing bands with new members,it's still awsome to see the original members and better than nothing. Andy Scott's Sweet is still a awsome band tho.

well i guess it doesnt matter how good you are or who you are someone always has something bad to say, its a shame we live in such a sad little minded world, where everyone behind there computer is a critic, if jesus was on here people would have something bad to say about him, oh wait they killed him???? go figure?
@DancingSpiderman after listening to the 1988 reunion I see what you mean about Brian's voice,BUT I still prefer the original line up.I mean if the Beatles ever reunited with a new rhythm and lead guitarist ,regardless of how good they might sound, would NOT be the Beatles.I hope you understand what I am getting at
Its the sweet as both andy scott and mick tucker are here. As soon as Mick left it changed to AS Sweet. but no not the original members(bar Andy and Mick)
I was lucky enough to see this lineup on tour at the metropole in hamilton fantastic concert and a real privilage to see Andy and Mick pereform live. Mick even cracked a funny when he saw that I was using my walkman to tape the concert.

So, this is the absolute original Iron Maiden singer... I wonder how it would have been today if they had kept him
