Billy Thorpe and the Aztecs' version knocked The Beatles off the top of the charts when they (The Beatles) were touring Australia in 1964, and there wasn't a place on earth where The Beatles were more popular!
Totally awesome music, Billy Thorpe will always be remembered, may he rest in peace. I am only 36 but I grew up listening to the oldies and the classics much better than most of the stuff thats out now.
an aussie classic, im doing my part to educate the young people of australia about great golden olden oldies such as billy and jimmy barnes, because new music if you can call it that sucks arse. i get some funny looks sometimes cause im only 22, but i was educated about music from a very youg age. billy thorpe is a LEGEND plain and simple. and will be rememberded for generations to come
well dude im only 13 and i know that.. not so big on jimmy barnes but he has helped australian music so you've gotta respect him, i love billy thorpe so much.rip

1. The Aztecs version is unique and I like it.
2. Please don't compare it to the Leiber and Stoller / Coasters' version, these guys make The Aztecs sound like amateurs.
3. Yeah I'm Australian.

I will never forget exactly where I was when I heard of his death on the radio. It was a tragic and premature end for a great artist.

You should look up Lieber and Stoller.
Great American song writers.

I do not think it's a cover of a Lieber & Stroller song, it was sung by The Coasters, 1st, i believe.
ive never heard this version before (im an ignorant american). thank you.

@mypoopfloats yeah it's a Leiber & Stoller song written for the Coasters. I like all of the covers, but the Coasters version is the best :)
