is there another way to get to Whumpa Island?

i have a question...... on this part (mission 12) im stuck cause whenever i get to the top of the tower to get back to wampa island so i can get to ninas shcool it wont let me through..... but i think it might be cause it says i didnt complete mission 9 but i did i defeated the scorpulia but it says i didnt complete it and now i cant get to the next part i keep going back into the desert but one doesnt show up...... can u help me or tell me wat i should do? thx
