  • DO YOU LIKE CHILLOUT MUSIC ?

  • as do those defects? please, I need help. I have a yamaha E423, and do not use the features ..

  • VOV :)

  • i have this keyboard and yeah it is definatly worth it i fucken love it extreamly good for 200 dollars!!

  • Do you know the name of demo song no. 30?

It's called SlowRock on the keyboard. But I can't find out its real name

  • @UserIbanez

Can't help falling in love written by George Weiss, Hugo Peretti and Luigi Creatore?

  • @4Dsign No, not at all :(

  • thanks

  • I never use the synth knobs on my E403.

  • muy bueno !!!! gracias !!!

  • pinche video ta mas mierda

    k basura..........

keria ver las funciones del e403

y como reproducir midis o secuencias,

no una pinche foto cambiando de color

con un fonda musikal de mierda

  • nice one thxs for the vid response, this is my new account and ill be uploading lots of vids of the keyboard soon!

  • You're welcome! I'll soon upload movies about the most useful tips to get the real power of this keybard.

  • Hi 4Dsign ,

can you please give us a tutorial in order to use effciently e403, I mean how to create a new style et particularly how to save it to e403 keyboard because this is not obvious and I serached Internet and have found no explanation of how to save a song or a style from PC to e403.

Thank you very much for the nice styles you showed us.

    Abder.

  • i might be upgrading to a yamaha psr s710 or 910!!

  • has this got a MIDI output so i can connect it to my PC and record stuff using recording software?

  • It's perfect for that: e403/413 has 1 USB for both input and output and it works better than common MIDI connectors. But to connect it to MIDI hardware (f.ex another keyboard, sampler, synth module...), a computer is needed.

  • I think it has really great piano, strings and woodwind samples but no onboard synth which is really a pity. and the organ sounds aren't really great either. I bought a Korg r3 for my synth needs and in combination these two are a great team.

  • thanks. i appreciate the info. ill have to try playin around with it some more. what beats are you using at 2.20 and 2.40?? i never cared for the beats that came on it. if your looking for a cool sound generator, try using "nexus" on FL studio. it doesn't come with the program, but can be added and has some really cool Arpeggios and loops.

  • not really beveling it. i have one and have had it over a year, now i have it linked to my computer and use it to make music through FL studio "producer edition" and ive never been able to get anything close to that from the keyboard alone. but if there is something im missing then by all means let me know. thanks.

  • I am selling a yamaha ypt 400 on cregslist for $200 or best offer.

  • No way this is your first try

  • TEST ?!? Where ?

    1/5

  • I've just bought one of these and I'm really looking forward to playing it because it seems to have so many professional features at such a low price!

  • sorry for e143...:P ---Yamaha E 413--- the best

  • i'll buy an e143 too next week. I can't wait until next wk if i listen this "music", what you created. But i have a question, is there a lead guitar sound and some rock/hard rock style?

  • Yes there is, although realistic hard style is only available on very expensive keyboards. To get realistic guitar I mix "Dist. Gt #41" with 30% of "Hi-Q Bass#48" with

  • with high resonance frequency to simulate distrortion. I mean, built-in styles and sounds should be improved(IMO), so you'll have to experiment with sound combinations. Then, If you want to go further you can download new styles from the net or create your own styles.

  • you are home at questions...:D a last question: where i can download styles , if ANYONE can send me a link(write a reply here) . Thanks

  • EXTRA i plan to buy psr e413 .

  • Thank you! I'm not Yamaha seller nor partner (by now) but as soon as you get the e413, just contact me and I'll send you the two STY files of your choice. Consider it a present for your good taste.

  • Here are the new styles I created (not on this movie):

Oxygene 2, 4 or 6, Fade to Gray - Visage, Midnight Express - Giorgio Moroder, The Vision - Mario Piu, Mr X - Ultravox, Ultravox based techno, I feel love - Donna Summer, Night in Tula - Tangerine Dream, Magnetic Fields Part I - J.M. Jarre, Dolce Vita : Giorgio Moroder, Por que te vas - Jeanette, Enola Gay - O.M.D.

    New Trance, Electro Trance.

  • U like JMJ? He's awesome!

  • NEW EXAMPLES:

if you want to know how electro and trance can be played on e403/413 click on the blue link from suscribe frame (top-right)

    NUEVOS EJEMPLOS:

Si quieren saber como emplear el e403/413 para producir música trance y electro, pulsen el raton sobre el link azul en el panel "suscribirse" (arriba a la derecha)

  • Hi! i am from Brazil! Very good!

But, what is the style who are used and the chords or notes (interrogation, the keyboard of my pc is broken...)

    Very good!

  • Wow. Great. Congrats.

  • I have this

  • can someone help me with this, im pretty noob at how keyboards work but i wonna record onto my laptop, atm i have a program called ableton but i cant get my computer to pick it up and record MIDI. i have the software to put songs onto the keyboard but i cant get the things i recorded onto my laptop. i just wonna record and put on my laptop, HELP!

  • If it is a PC you generally need to install a MIDI driver. Other than that, I haven't had too much trouble getting it to work. (Well, on my E413 I had to manually turn on the MIDI output -- it doesn't do that by default.)

    Good luck!

  • well im wondering if a MIDI to Headphone Jack would work for my laptop, to plug into. and also, do u know how to turn the output on , on the 403?

  • Do you want to use it as a MIDI controller or to record the sounds from the keyboard?

  • record sounds i guess

  • Hey! I was wondering ... what's the right setting for the left knobs-thingy (pathetic, I know. I don't even know my own keyboard!) near the left speaker? To make it sound like a grand piano, I mean.

  • To get a "grand piano" put (A) knob at 0 = middle position and do the same for (B) knob. Then, push "portable grand" button.

A and B knobs assigned to cut-off(pressing "assign" button) can be used for realtime filter effects so, use it with synth sounds (not clasical instrument sounds)

  • How did you get this to upload in stereo?

  • does it has a portamento effect?

    how about E413?

  • wait which iz better psr e413 or psr e403 ?

  • Hi what number song is this on the yamaha psr e413s songbank?

  • can someone tell me how to use the record function??

    thanks

  • how do i save a song to the internal memory on a yamaha psr e403. i am trying 2 build tracks.

  • in the song memory buttons, hold the record button and pres for exaple "1" to record the first line. in the song selection you can choose the user songs.

  • yeah. record at slow speed. then switch to the tempo knob and make it faster b4 playing ur recording.

  • my sister got one for her birthday and loves it! is there a way to record something and speed it up using the synth? I'd like to learn so that i can experiment with it in my band (guitar is my instrument, so my knowledge of keyboards is limited)

  • Erm I need help.I don't know how to use the transpose function of this model can anyone help?

  • Press the 'Function' button and then the arrows(catergory) till you get transpose.

  • Im going to buy this one on friday! *Cant wait* :D

  • i have one. i sing with it in my band and use the drums from it. check out the videos i have. they are all recorded live.

  • hell ,good day..if its ok can kindly tell me how much this one cost ?thanks a lot

  • hi. i bought it last year and it was about 300 euros.

  • Wow...

Saw this on amazon and was wondering why it was so cheap (looking for a cheap but good board, not easy thing) and saw this. Then, by a huge coincidence my school mass ordered it and I was the first to use one, being the only specialising board player in the school. It is amazing and the synth functions are fantastic. The keys are silent when pressed unlike my bulky casio WK-3200 which is a big thing for me as I hate the clicking sound keys make when played in private. AMAZING board.

  • Wow...

I saw this keyboard on amazon and was wondering why it was so cheap (looking for a cheap but amazing board, not easy lol)

  • Saw this test and got e413 (e403 is hard to get) I know very little about keyboards, I can not play them yet. First 12 hrs I got a few midi files and put them onto it (USB). Then got the keyboard to teach me how to play them. Did have to convert a few from midi type "1" to "0" this was easy using "gn1to0". Also you have to tell the keyboard which track you want to learn so it can take some trial n error from the 16 possible tracks. Dual and knobs make creating synth type voices easy. Amazed.

  • I might buy one of those! It sounds great :D And affordable

  • what is the difference between the psr e403 and the ypt 400, I got the ypt 400 thinking it was the psr e403 =S

  • User guide is about both keyboards, so I think it's exactly the same but I've never tried ypt-400.

  • same except the color :D

  • can this keyboard make a full beat...like hip hop beat...reply bac

  • You've got memory space for 5 user songs where you can record whatever you want but you can't add extra sounds (only built-in). You can record drums by hitting different keys, each key stars a sample (using drums). Then you can modify add delete any sequence and record another track, for ex. strings, and so on. Going to the point, e403 doesn't include tools for recording loops because you can do that with midi applications. There's also intelligent editors that record depending on insistence.

  • Thanks for checking that out man, I've recently ordered the E403 with the intention to teach myself, I have a lot of time on hand atm so I'm looking forward to persistant learning over the coming weeks.

    Cheers again, Tom

  • I'm on amazon atm considering purchases, of course I've looked around as well but the E403 goes for £144 with free P&P and the adaptor whereas the cheapest I find the E413 is £165 without it and £10 shipping.

I'm assuming you know more than me so is the step up a significant step up for the amount of money, baring in mind it's about £30-40 and I'm already not sure about spending over £150.

    Thanks

  • I've read specifications and didn't find any diference except for the new control buttons. I think e413 is a revision to make easier music creation and real time playing.

  • Don't buy e403 now, psr e413 has just appeared on the market. (there is not a great difference but the price is almost the same)

  • One Question. How come a smaller keyboard, the PSR E313 has 102 preloaded songs for demo and this one only 30?

Is there a way to load the rest?

    BR

  • You can add 5 midi of your choice. I think demo songs are only for demostrations. As I'm not a seller I prefer to make my own demo songs (midi files).

  • Hey, I think you know a lot of keyboards, do you know which synth it's better? the korg n364 or the korg karma? and can you recommend me some other of the same price?

  • Karma is better than n364. But, I prefer Korg Wavestation and it's cheaper (half the price I think). It's a pure synthesizer so you can't use create sequences or play styles but its sounds are great and amazing: you can morph a sound into another, create and play loops or samples forward and backward. Vangelis and Gary Numan use it (among a large list of famous musicians). The worst aspect is a somehow poor filter resonance but you can use morphing to solve the problem. 2b continued...

  • Nevertheless, there's another good "all-purposed and all-in-one" keyboard from korg... the PA (50, 80 or 1X), my favorite. You can compose, make arrangements and play full songs with all tracks with it.

Enjoy the following example, you won't believe it:

    watch?v=1jy_6sJvIn4&feature=related

  • and this one:

    watch?v=SmxHWONF0NQ&feature=related

  • u made ALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL Of that with that keybored??

does E403 have that thing where u record one bit.. and loop it so it keeps on playin and then u can play along to it in a different tune.. like hey ya by outkast has lots of different medlodies so u cud do that ..

and did u make all those sound on that keybored and record it?

  • Only E403 sounds are used in this demo. Some of the sequences were recorded directly on keyboard memory, some others using windows editor and the last one, using a midi program(I didn't mind about quality because I was trying my new keyboard). E403 is a very cheap kb, with minimum memory and a simple editor (you can only record songs, not loops) but connecting it to a computer with midi programs, you can create automatic styles like loops. then you can apply effects at runtime.

  • right...

so i can record my songs.. and then play them back.. and wen i play them back i can filter effetcs with them and stuff?

  • Yes, and filters and effects variations can be recorded in real-time if you want. Nevertheless, I prefer to use midi recording because notes and effects can be adjusted at any time in an easier way, and there is, practically, no memory limits.

There's also intelligent music editors that record loops getting notes depending on repetition insistence.

Then, you can send the midi file to e403 memory and play keyboard with loop accompaniment or convert it to a new style including variations.

  • esse video é muito ruim

    só perdi meu tempo

  • By the way 4Dsign what program do you use on your PC? Sounds good :)

  • I use musicsoft downloader, stylemaker and midi2style to record new styles (all are free). For editing midi files: I used Cubase but I prefer Cakewalk Sonar. If you don't want to buy a midi sequencer(they are very expensive) you can download Anvil Studio for free, it works pretty well but I don't know what happens with XG (extended MIDI).

  • Just bought this keyboard, had it on special at the music shop for £149 including stand and power adapter :) Sometimes we get a bargain in the UK david 01478. Now just got to learn to play it, having lots of fun with the trial version of Sequelized.

  • LOVELY

  • lol, I have this keyboard and didn't know that you could do so much XD

  • How do you record something to what you recorded already? Like add stuff.

  • You can do it by recording new tracks to built-in sequencer but I prefer to record it on midi files or sequencer apps (on my computer) because it's easier and more maintainable. The best you can record on e403 are new styles for accompaniment.

  • If you refer to video: adobe after effects allows you to edit sound/music separately and macromedia flash allows you to synchronize video animation with music.

  • cost me bout 250 quid, its well worth it tho (like always britain gets ripped off)

  • Hi 4Dsign. What is the different beetween the yamaha E403 and DGX-220?I am planning to buy with one of them. I am a beginner and living in Norway. The 220 cost around 170-200$ more than the the E403.

In the music store 220 cost around 700 $

    E403 cost around 500.

Combine price and quality of them. Which one is best for a beginner like me?

The sound quality is really important for me..

    I need your tips:)

  • is this hard to operate and play if you have not that much musical knowledge

  • Hi GrayFox:

Even if you're a beginner, with E403 you can play since the first day. It's a simple to use pattern keyboard (with automathic accompaniment). Step by step, you will learn to play music "by ear", without effort. If you want more, it includes a basic synthesizer system with easy to use realtime controls. Then, if you want to learn solfege, it includes a music learning system based on sheets that include exams.

  • cool man how much does this badboy cost

  • From 220 to 300 eur in Spain.

  • ok should i but this keyboard or the korg kaossilator

  • Kaossilator can be very useful as a complement to create humanized effects but not to play with accuracy. Then, after a time using it, you'll miss a better chord and armony control in real time. For me, kaossilator would be very interesting to create drum and sound effects, not melody nor chords.

  • thanks i just ordered one of these keyboards

  • Great vid!

How does the arpeggiator work? Can you use it like a real synth or what?

  • Arpeggiator types are built-in so you can't edit patterns. There are 50 types. It uses main and dual voice so it can be played with right hand (not with accompaniment).

E403 has an extensión to add synth possibilities to PSR standard. You'll find very good waves (saw, sinus, square and all realistic instruments can be edited with synth effects)

    Resonance, Cutoff, Attack, Release

Effects(2-one for each voice): two types of Chorus, two flangers and nine reverbs.

  • Then harmony/embellishment effect can produce tremolos, duets, trios, block, country, octave, trill, tremolo and an echo/delay from 1/4 to 1/32.

Then you can add a Split voice from which key you want.

The worst: There's no LFO (for filter and oscilator vibrato) but some built-in instruments have a nice and realistic vibrato. Another inconvenient: tune is not voice independent(for doing sound beating) but you can simulate this effect.

  • ...then, GaVox6, mine is not a song but a sequence of tests, my first ones. I hope you didn't write your comment to sell your Oasys keyboard... hehehehe!

  • GaVox, the Oasys of your Demo is one of the best synths, the player has talent, but the song isn't that interesting or creative for such an expensive synth.

  • its so bad the song (psr e403) he ruin the intro :(

  • is dere a better keyboard for the sme price, cuz i'm thinkin bout gettin diz 1?

  • you've probaly made this by yourself using a midi programme or are there realy custom styles out there if there is lets have the web page

  • If you can't find a PSR-E403 then just get the YPT-400, it's the exact same keyboard sold in regular stores not music shops.

  • i have that keyboard too.....too!

  • i have that keyboard too

  • i have that keyboard

  • I got one of these and I don't know how to do this sounds...

  • ...and neither me ;p

  • with Dual voice. The best sounds can be done mixing 2 sounds (main voice and dual voice). Mixing a synth sound with a real instrument sound(sampler) is a good technique. for example try: voice=039(muted guitar) and dual=098(Saw.Lead synth) then set D.Reso=90 to 110(dual filter resonance) and that's all.

  • thanks :P i dont have it yet, but im asking for money (how bad lol) for my birthday so :P.. than i buy it incl. bag and X-standard thing, foot pedal etc.. (my english sucks idd :P)

  • Were you using custom styles?

  • All are made using custom styles, except last one (midi)

  • from which website can I buy/download custom styles..?

  • hi im tgettin a talk box and im wonderin if i should get this or somthin older like dx series and this is a fm synth right?

  • dx is fm, e403 synth specification seems to be kept in secret because I didn't find any description on the manual and elsewhere. (My english sucks, sorry)

  • so you would reccomend dx or e403 for talkbox

  • I'm not FM enthusiast because sounds are too metallic for my needs. FM is based on multiples waves and you can create very nice sounds with no needs of large amount of memory but, nowadays, memory is not a problem. I think e403 is better.

  • so can i get good sawtooth sounds with the e403 for talk box

  • You can get very very good quality sawtooths. But if you want to get a fat "supersaw" (like virus synth) you cannot detune dual voice independently but you can simulate it by adding flanger or chorus fx to dual voice.

  • i'm selling this keyboard on ebay onlu used 8 times. bought from sound control. bidding starts at £40 all boxed 3 day listing...

  • wow thats pretty darn good. I am gonna get this keyboard. Do you think its worth it?

  • I revised sounds and no, at 2:30 its voice:265 and d.voice:354 can you get it now?

  • There's another amazing synth sound, the 141 = AcidSyn, I found it applying cutoffs to all sounds, it responds perfectly to filter fx. Thanks for your comments!

  • Hi. It was a secret but I'll revel it. The basis is voice:039 (Mute Gtr) + dual voice:265 and using the same octave. The effect (I'm sure you know it) is Echo1/4. I used also the bend wheel and cutoff filter (step by step). It's somehow difficult if you have to play the sequence at the same time (with right hand) but with practice it becomes easy.
