I'm saying this as someone with almost 15 years of experience in music performance. Taking five minutes to learn how to do a guitar spin doesn't really eat into your guitar practice time. Videotaping it to make sure you're doing it right is a good idea, too. You have to remember that the audience is rarely all that musically inclined. They just want to be entertained.
