This was all made possible due to a national hero Abdul Qahar Pacha, who was in jail for 6 years during Taliban and when got out of jail, he became border security commander of Torkham for four years. Major Pacha brought tremendouse historical changes there but became a victim of bad politics and was removed from the position and in 2 years 9 officials were assigned but none of them could perform there. He is still going to the MOI every day to be given the chance to complete his tak and duty.
I visited Pakistan and went straight to the Afghan border by road on the kyber pass in 1988. Things were different back then. Its a very Soulful place. A beautiful charming Roads surrounded by untouched Rugged Mountains. Missing it so much, but the uneraseable memories of this place will always linger on forever in a special place my heart.
