  • thank you um i bet ppl would appreciate it if you could breifly cover the strumming pattern too, thats where i struggle the most, otherwise great. God Bless

  • Thanks, I know! But part of the lesson is practicing along with the song, so sadly y'all have to hear me sing lol :-)

  • Hey, I liked it! =p

    Thanks much for the instruction

  • The great thing about worship is that God doesn't care how you sound. The fact that he is passing on the glory of god and worship through his knowledge of guitar to other people is more beautiful than any persons voice.

  • Now that was a very rude comment. I appreciate you spending time teaching us smitty and keep it up man. Dont worry about mean comments about you because you are playing for the Lord and that is all that matters.

  • Hey, I've watched some of your other videos, long ago, and, it seems to me that you are singing MUCH better!! Congrats!

Keep up the praise and worship!

  • Hey thanks for the video. I just started playing and it helped me out a lot.

    God Bless!

  • Thank you. God Bless!!!!

  • thanks God bless

  • OOPS! Hey, brother! Let's fix a couple of mistakes.

#1. The "B" String is the second string, not the the 5th string.

#2. The first chord is NOT Esus.

It is E, or E5. In the context of the song E is fine.

Your second chord isn't really B/D#. While the EMaj7 chord you are playing fits over the B/D# nicely, it really isn't the same chord.

The chords A2 and Asus are not the same. Asus = A,D,E. A2 (or Asus2) = A,B,E. "Sus" alone always implies chord tone #4. Theory ??'s. PM's OK.

  • Thanks I appreciate the corrections!

  • great. thanks bro. this helps me a lot. God bless.

  • Hello! This video has been very helpful for me. I was wondering if you could make a video for the song, All for Jesus by Robin Mark. That would be awesome but thanks again for this video and God bless!

  • thanks. this helped bunches

  • great video bro helped me out a lot!!:)

  • Awesome video! I learned how to play this song through it. Take a listen and tell me what you think, please.

  • thnx man that vid really helped :)

  • Pretty simple chord progressions, but it definitely sounds fine! I watched this mainly to see the strumming pattern that you taught in action and I'm trying to master the key of E, but I actually like the song now. Keep it up.

  • Im not a very good believer in god, but I must say that you are amazing at bringing people together with worship songs. Please keep going with it, you've motivated me in great ways.

    God Bless

  • accoustic guitars do that when you play alot, it is because you press down hard when you play in order for the notes to come out. Keep playing and you will get calusis.

  • because you need to build up callouses. This takes time and playing through the pain. Even when I don't play for a week and pick it up again my fingers hurt. But the callouses prevent the pain but take time to build up

  • Praise the Lord! It's the first song i can play to worship the Lord!!!! thank you

  • awesome

  • for esus doesur first finger touches second upper string all the way down or just the second upper one

  • index finger on fret 7 of the A string

ring finger on fret 9 of the D string

Pinky finger on fret 9 of the G string

    That's it

  • thanks man!.

  • Glory to God !!

    Your Gift is very helpfull

    Bless more.

  • Just play with it a bit, as long as you start and end at the right time then the little up and down strums don't really matter, so whatever sounds right too you should work :D

  • Request: Praise you in this Storm by Casting Crowns

  • I'll have to work on it I have never sung it before, Mike

  • Excellent series of videos. God bless you for this!

  • Great lesson, keep them comming, please!

I've been practicing with a variation of these chords. It's the change between the a2 and the b, then the b to the e that causes me problems, that and the fast strumming. But I'm working on it. Thanks again.

    God bless

    Leon

  • Yeah they are tough starting out. Just remember to use the same fingers, for the A2 use your pinky and ring finger and just slide that over to the Bsus and Esus and just add your index finger. You'll get it

  • I've been trying that. I watch you and others play, and I get confused. Sometimes the a2 is played with the 2 middle fingers (easier), and at other times it is played with the pinky and ring fingers. I surmise it simply depends on which series of chords you are using. I try both, but sometimes fumble for which ones to go to. I am learning, slowely (You know what they say about old dogs)

    God bless

    Leon

  • I always try and teach people to learn different fingerings for the chords. Like playing the regular E with your pinky, ring, and middle finger because then it's easy to go to F#m or G#m barr or open chords, and if you do that, you can drop your pinky and ring finger down to A2, then slide over to Bsus. Especially when you sing, you want the movements to be easier so you don't have to look at your hand. Keep movements simple if possible and learn a variety of fingerings for same chords :-)
