  • This is mumbo-jumbo, not science. Explaining the scientific method does not support a total lack of logic.

  • Even if we just look at the last, let's say 20 years, there is no correlation between CO2 concentration in the air and global warming.

As CO2 levels rise, the globe warms, as CO2 rise, the earth cools, as CO2 levels rise, the earths temperature remain in stasis.

All of these threee are true, on a decadal, 100-year, 1000 year, 10 000 year, 10 million year or even 500 million year time-scale. How then, can only one of the true statements become scientificly proven?

  • The problem with this argumentation is that there is NOTHING in the data, the facts scientists have collected over the last 50 years that supports the idea that human CO2 emissions, or natures CO2 emissions can cause dangerous global warming.

Not in the geological time-scale (500 million years), not in data for the last 5-6 million years, not in the data for the last 800 000 years, nor after the last ICE-age. Not even for the last 2000, 800, or critically, last 150 years.

  • I totally concur with him; so many people love to tell others whats true just as they know for a fact that 1+1=2, like how the hell is that possible. Evidence isn't always evidential and I feel many people should take a pointer from this video.

  • Where have all the pirates gone?

  • Great argument! To answer questions one must constantly question the answers. This has always been my way of thought. It is why I love science.

  • Cool

  • science is science, if a certain reaction is known to take place, what difference does it make that it's on an entertainment program?

  • It's a matter of rigour and control. Science is the most precise and meticulous of all human enterprises, it cannot be bodged.

That doesn't mean the mythbusters didn't contribute anything. If they have a hypothesis, it's a least a starting point for further experimentation.

  • Excellent video.

  • i'm actually pretty sure mythbusters found out what caused the mentos-coke trick
