I thought that your video was fine. Nothing special but very long and could do with being edited down a lot. If you had the chance then I think that you would be well advised to get to grips with iMovie 6HD then move on to Final Cut and really get to know your craft. I teach media in a secondary school to transition using only iMovie and your movie would be up to their standard.
Thanks for the advice. However, it wasn't my choice what software I used. If it were, I'd have done it on a PC and refined it using Sony Vegas, or Adobe Premiere Pro.
So, in light of this being my first movie, I'll take what you've said as a compliment. At least you didn't write it off as a failure! But I doubt this will be my future "craft", I prefer working with audio/music and in radio.

It's all filmed in Shannon, Co. Clare, where I'm from. The driving part at the beginning starts off at the Bunratty overpass, onto the dual-carriageway into Shannon. The forest and seaside area is the 3rd point in Shannon overlooking the river Shannon, which is an area actually in the very south of the town, a mere walk from from some close-by housing estates.
First, if you are serious about being a film student you had better get used to Mac. Secondly... learn where the notes on the piano you are playing are (or at LEAST which direction they are going), that was very distracting.
PS: Apple has made two button mouses for more than two years...
In regards to your first point, that's already a given. If I had the choice, I would have used a PC. I used a Mac simply because I had to.
Your second point is noted (no pun intended). However, in light of the time constraints I was under, and because I don't have an entourage of piano players at my disposal, I had to make do with the actor just hitting any key(s), right or wrong.
If this film was planned for, say, a short film festival, more preparation would have gone into the finer details.
see heres the thing the oc edit looked worse compared to this because the mac editing programs on your mac are better then the one you used for pc but the real thing is that i can do better things on a pc the mac ever hoped to be
You're probably right. Final Cut Pro is probably more powerful than Sony Vegas Pro, but that would only matter and be noticed if you were to use the highly advanced features in both.
My movie was made with the "less is more" logic. Sony Vegas Pro could have easily achieved a better look if I had done it properly, using the PC.
Although, I like your comment mentioning that PC's are potentially more powerful than Macs. Right on!
yea man macs are a esat coast thing i dont understaind how so many people flock to mac pcs have wayyy more programs for this and its easy for a normal person to efford and comes out better then macs programs, ive used a mac and i was let down of how limited they are with there programs its like they only have like 10 programs for video and audio and PCs have 1000s Avid was origanly on PC
In Ireland, where I am, and probably throughout Europe, PC's are way more heavily used. In-fact, Windows holds about 90% of the market in OS's sold, therefore Macs are still not seen as dominant in many or any cultures or countries.
I'm just glad I have an ally. I assume the Apple ads also bother you? Considering that they flat out lie by saying a PC is basically only good for spreadsheets, etc., among other tall tales, I'd have to say they seriously bother me. But, they do amuse me.
Thanks, man4theworld, I will do. The movie covers two modules in my course at once. One is Film Studies, which will look at the philosophical side, through the creative and ideas process, and the way it's expressed through the imagery in the movie. The other module is Media and Broadcasting, which will look at it from a more technical standpoint. Hopefully within the next week or two I'll know the result.
Well done again! The completed version is excellent! Your video expresses the music very well and filming in sepia set just the right mood! Let me know how the exam went
