Well I hope this OVA will get sequels so the Revenge arc be animated. Seeing Enishi and the ending with the picnic in the opening from the recent PSP game gives me hope. They may be doing this arc to introduce new fans or recaping to old fans who may forgot some stuff just like FMA: Brotherhood did. Could be worse, they could pull an Inuyasha with no recap and treating you like how you know exactly how the last few episodes happen after half a decade.

FUCK THIS MAN, I was hoping for Jinchuu arc. I can still remember the days when I read through all the manga chapters (which I still have well preserved). Compared to Jinchuu arc, Shishio Arc is nothing. That one is full of action, lots of intense moments and serious stuff that you don't see otherwise. I'm going to watch this, but sorry,I was hoping for that arc.Also it would be great to show detailed action scenes this time around instead of words flying around in b/w action seen (ie. kuzu ryu)

@QuiescentEmpress oh man, those fights are so detailed in the manga but the OVA did nothing to even portray 1% of that fight.I doubt we will see any of those, its like Japanese version of X-Men that came out months ago.Its all good graphics but terrible voice acting along w/ horrible story.If they copy this in improved graphics, they better show all fights w/ extreme details.not some "kuzu ryu sen" sign popping up when he execute it.Need details in the fight.

@CrazyMike8897 honesty, I hope not based on how bad I thought the dubs of the series were, both of em. well let me rephrase that, if they do make dubs I hope they are at least decent, because it really is a given that this will come to America. to be honest I wish more anime was made without dubs at all, but the only time I ever saw that was in the American release of Fist Of The North Star.
Hopefully sony doesn't do the english dub, I want the original english dub. Many people actually see the japanesse version lol even though they don't understand it

@lilsweetmami18 The anime was a mixed bag for me. They used ALOT of filler in the show and those scenes with animation pasted in real life scenes (Kenshin and Kaoru walking on a real life beach for example) was meh. The manga was eons more better in my opinion.

I have the DVDs, I saw the show on CN, and I have seen some of the Samurai X episodes, all the same. look it up on IMDB, and just breath normally, I promise it will all be ok, just stay calm, remember to breath...

This doesn't look like Watsuki's artstyle. Its just like that new FMA movie thats coming out doesn't look like something she would draw and I kinda hate that to be honest but movies and OVAs tend to do that.
No matter what happens in this movie, whether it bombs or does well it will never be as Reflections. After that, we the fans of Rurouni Kenshin DESERVE the Jinchu arc in animated form. So I'm hoping this is Japan's way of testing the water before jumping onboard for a Jinchu movie/series.
I think a new series would be best. A lot of animes have been springing up from the dead resonantly. Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood, Slayers Revolution and Evolution-R, Dragonball Z Kai. Need I go on?
@shibien13 i totally agree with you my friend, the fanboy that lives in me wants a remake for the kenshin series that stays 100% true to the manga, including art style. But i'm afraid that if watsuki were to make an animated jinchu arc then the series would be bumped up to a rated R series perhaps? Jinchu arc was hardcore and bloody.
@BreakingPhobia103 I don't believe the anime would be R. Watsuki's audience was primarily younger readers. Hence the happy ending. I can easily see a Jinchu anime being aired on something like Toonami.
Aside from that, our inner fanboys think the same, my friend! The Jinchu is a vital part of Kenshin's story that must be told.
But I cannot express how happy the mere existence of this film makes me. Now the Kenshin franchise won't end on a sour note. *cough* Reflections *cough*

this is quite interesting... It's always refreshing to see the same plot but in a different view. It plays well in terms of different people's philosophies. What I'm more amazed at, though, is they made some minor changes to the character design.

The only problem I am having with this is Saitou's new look...It looks so unproportional. His original look was 10,000 times more badass. wtf were they thinking...Still looking forward to the OVAs though. They MUST remake the anime the way FMA was remade.
