Acela's a nice ride. I'll be glad when rail improvements are finished here in the South. Acela will eventually link Atlanta, Charlotte, and Richmond with Washington D.C., NYC, and Boston. That will be a welcome alternative for businessmen travelling to Charlotte's banks, not wanting to deal with the bullshit and confusion the airlines have to offer. You'll be able to get up and stretch and go to the lounge car for a drink. No turbulence and no vomit between the seat cushions either.
@FortunaFortesJuvat ..........You probably should :<) The Acela was actually designed and built in Canada by Bombardier's Montreal Locomotive Works. Now you don't think we Americans would actually go through the trouble of building something ourselves for Amtrak eh? The U.S. Govt has gotten it's head stuck too far up the asshole of the airline lobby and it's unions to sink serious money into high speed rail technology. So hats off to Canada for building us something nice!
Hey what a great vid. Checkout my XPT train vids 1 to 5, 5 was the last one recorded on Friday 14th Nov 2008 I think it's the best vid I have done to date.

Too bad that the officials in the Northern Corridor don't want to spend money on a separate and fast railway like the one planned in California :-(

We could use some of these north of the border
