690 AM XTRA GOLD in San Diego started to broadcast oldies back in 1984! Before that they will broadcast modern rock music as the Mighty 690! I remember Wolfman broadcasting from that station back in 1987-1988! The antennas were located in Tijuana Mexico!
What I remember was Wolfman, 250,000 volts, that is what I remember, Wolfman spreading the love across the border from Mexico! Wolfman is heart and soul, semper fidelis, dan williams
"250.000 Watts of pure SOUL POWER BAABAAAY! Just 3 died presidents for the Wolfman Jack sweat shirt so get your money in the mail while it's still fresh on yo mind!" Thankyou Wolfman Jack for all the fun and love you sent our way. Heard you all the way up in Kings Canyon in a tent on a transister radio. You Ruled the airwaves in those days.
Yikes...Wolfman walked on that Toys intro. Never heard that before:
My god, this guy was great.

69 XTRA Gold was broadcast out of Tijuana, Mexico just south of San Diego as I recall. Big-ass blowtorch transmitter not regulated by the FCC.

It was great listening to him, before
Mr Lynch pulled the plug and went
all sports back in 86-87'.
Funny moment was when Lee Hamilton
wished him a Happy B-Day on the air,
and told him"Happy B-Day Wolfman,
now why don't you go get a REALLL job!"
Jim LaMarca, you did great with the talent
this station possessed.
