Jesus was a really person. The son of God I probably doubt that, why would a so called Being created from nothing with infinite knowledge and above space and time have a son. This makes me go crazy thinking about it. The virgin Mary wasn't a virgin she just didn't was to be killed because sex before marriage was a crime back then so she said "god" impregnated her.
i saw a shadow touch one of my families kitchen chairs while i was in that state, and i believed it to be the shadow of Jesus (Yahuwshua). when i say i'd rather be beheaded than be converted, im telling the truth. get a guillotine out and we can prove it. you cut my head off in the name of muhammed, and i'll die in the name of Jesus. peace.
God called me Israel through the Good News Translation of Jeremiah 31:20, which states, "Israel, you are my dearest child, the one I love best. Whenever I mention your name, I think of you with love. My heart goes out to you, I will be merciful." this is a VERY long story, but when i read that, God called me Israel, and my perephrial vision became like a flowing river, and the pattern of the flow matched the pattern of my iris...
@DawsonKancherla 1. meyara didnt say that, i did. 2. everything i said was the complete truth. 3. you claim to be a christian, and said that by me saying i'd rather be killed than be anything but christian was very rude....so you are either on drugs, dont speak english for a first language, or lack a great deal of intelligence. everything you said was 100% backwards, and if i were you i would delete it.
the vatican is false religoin, and followers of satan? then why do you develop your theory on christs physical appearance on documents that are supposedly held within the vatican? 2+2=4.
you arent any different from members of islam who think they will get 70+ virgin women in heaven. you think heaven is all about glorifying white people. i dont need the bible to tell me every time 2 people had sex...according to your theory, the entire geneology of israelies were concieved by satan, and that theory is developed because the bible didnt specifically tell you that adam and eve had sex for their second child. and im the idiot.
@meyara1983 honey, Jesus has been appearing to muslims in dreams to show them the nail prints in His wrists and feet. look that up on youtube and online. I was called Israel by God on August 11th, 2002, through the book of Jeremiah. God didnt call me palestine, He called me Israel. I'd rather have my head cut off from my body than be anything other than Christian.
God called me Israel on August 11th, 2002, through the Good News Translation of Jeremiah 31:20. i know a lot more than you think i do. physical appearance is a hang up of Satan, adulterous women, and white supremacists. im not going to sit up in heaven, look at the Messiah, and say, "thank God im european. thank God im white. thank God that he made me superior to other men." thats what Haylale did and it got him kicked out of heaven, idiot.
so you understand that the greek word "Eesus" is the hebrew word "Yahuwshua", and means "I am He (who) saves"? thats the translation and meaning of Yahuwshuas hebrew name.
i quoted you the appearance of Jesus from the bible itself! how do i not read the bible? im NOT the one that gets His appearance from other sources, i get it from how He looks RIGHT NOW. WHITE HAIR, EYES A FLAME OF FIRE. I BELIEVE THE BIBLE FAR MORE THAN ANTIQUE ROMAN LETTERS. i have ONE subscription in my account, "ancienthebreworg". since you are the wise one, feel free to type out your correct translation of genesis.
the letter from pilate to caesar doesnt contain a comment about eye color. the comments about His eye color are in different sources. it would help if the vatican would actually say what it did and didnt have in regards to this. i think the best bet would be not to dwell on His appearance while He was on earth, but rather His present appearance, which is in Revelation. "His head and His hair white like wool, His eyes a flame of fire." (Rev. 1:14).
@MrWritten68 if you were able to control your thoughts and actions, you'd be able to comprehend that my response was to your 1st comment about eve having sex with satan. i didnt even bother to respond to your second comment. i dont know or care about the color of Jesus' eyes and hair. i myself have blond hair and blue eyes. it doesnt improve me or mean anything. thanks for calling me names. leave me alone.
Oh and by the way, the shroud shows markings of scars from the crown of thorns. I dont think they just handed those out to anyone when they crucified them. Jesus was the only one.
@TaknTokes Its not just some random guy because in order to make an image like that to we would need the heat from a laser that even we dont have now. The image is on the opposite side of the cloth. Whats happened on this cloth is called a neutron flux which suggests his atoms where passed through the cloth (much like transfiguration) This is way beyond our understanding and can only be evidence Jesus' resurrection.
about messianic prophecy though, anyone who knows about this please feel free to shed light.. am i wrong in beliveing that the book of Isaiah says that Jesus would've had His beard plucked out??? the shroud shows a man with a beard, correct? (Isaiah 50:6)
@allrza It doesn't say that his entire beard would be plucked out. And, at any rate, the image of the shroud, if authentic, only represents what Jesus looked like at the exact moment the image was made. Since his eyes are still closed, it seems he has not quite been resurrected, the process of healing his body has begun. Some rapid beard growth is to be expected!
The issue of the crucifixion and death of Jesus is important to Muslims as they believe that Jesus will return before the end of time. Muslims believe Jesus was not crucified, but was raised bodily to heaven by God
@meyara1983 the very meaning of the word messiah itself means He would've been crucified, otherwise He isnt the messiah according to old testament messianic prophecy
@meyara1983 you should study messianic prophecy. messianic prophecies are old testament prophecies that refer to the coming jewish messiah. i have a link on my page that shows over 100 old testament allusions and prophecies concerning Yehoshua. the bible is full of fulfilled prophecy. another thing relatively exclusive to christianity is healing miracles, exorcisms, and raising people from the dead.... ~*IF*~ people actually follow the true gospel, that is.
@allrza Allah endowed him with some miraculous powers.
"I heal him who was born blind and the leper, and I raise the dead, by Allahs leave." (Quran)
Everything is possible for Allah. It was He who saved Ibrahim from the fire and Musa from Firawn. He is the only Creator of the whole universe and all that is in it.
@meyara1983 Jesus is the Word--the Logos--incarnate. Which is to say, he is the transcendent principle of rationality of the universe--God's own intimate knowledge of Himself, so perfect that this intellectual Word is in every way equal to his Father. One cannot say the same of Adam.
@meyara1983 some people call Jesus the "second Adam", only Jesus never fell to the sin nature. Adam ate of the tree of knowledge which God forbade. Yehoshua (Jesus) never did that. if Adam and Eve hadnt ate of the tree of knowledge, everyone on earth would be walking around nude and not know the difference. But the messiah is as perfect as a human being could be, whereas adam was very very human.
That they said (in boast), "We killed the Christ Jesus son of Mary, the Messenger of Allah";- but they killed him not, nor crucified him, but so it was made to appear to them [or it appeared so unto them], and those who differ therein are full of doubts, with no (certain) knowledge, but only conjecture to follow, for of a surety they killed him not: Nay, Allah raised him up unto Himself; and Allah is Exalted in Power, Wise.—Qur'an
@MrWritten68 I'd like to see that. I don't think it's real or somebody messed with it. Everyone that has seen Jesus.. whether in death experiences or an actual visit from the Lord.. YES, this HAS happened.. they all say He has dark hair. I myself had a death experience as a child and when I met Him.. He said His name was Yeshua.. not Jesus.. He is 6 feet and has dark hair that is short in the back and long on the sides like the jewish rabbis wore it.
The man on the shroud is most likely Leonardo Da Vinci. He made this latest version using camera obscura techniques. No contact image will look perfect like the shroud image. Stop the nonsense, It's not Jesus. BTW corpses don't bleed.
It's a random guess of what Jesus might look like take it on faith a50/50 shot of it I don't care if Jesus is black white brown red green with poka dots.Jesus died on the cross for our sins, rises up again on the 3rd day to take his seat on the right hand of god now. Happy Easter everyone
Who cares what his skin color was? Are you serious? If you want to be technical, he was born in the middle east, which would make him dark, but not black or white. But that's not the point! People need to stop all of that! He was and still is the most wonderful man to ever walk this earth.
Interesting technology, but it's very questionable whether this shroud is what some would like it to be. That's where faith comes in - God gave us His creation and His great Book, the Holy Bible as evidence of His existence. That's all we really need.
I think this story is great. Jesus was tortured and crucified for all of our sins. I'm thankful for his sacrifice for anyone that would believe. I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ! God Bless
Exodus 20 1And God spake all these words, saying, 2I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. 3Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
4Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.
5Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;
@scorpio1360. Thank you for your comments. This topic is discussed in Evangelical books dealing on the Shroud - those who support the authenticity of the Shroud point out that this was an Old Testament law. In fact the Christian church has portrayed Jesus in paintings for 1,500 years at least.
4Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.
5Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;
Some of you need to lighten up. You can believe in the shroud or not. its all just a matter of faith. My advice to all of you is to sit back relax and watch the new episode of South Park tonight. And if you don't want to do that then just play Call of Duty or madden 10.
They didn't "take some random man's shroud and claim it's Jesus..just to get viewers." It's had that reputation for more than 600 yrs
The 2 scientists who did the carbon dating admitted they got it wrong. They took a sample from a portion that was repaired due to a fire centuries ago.
No paint has been found on it, but human blood was found in the cloth. Pollen from flowers found ONLY in Jerusalem was also present the cloth. Skeptical scientists can't explain how the image was formed.
@goldenthroat86 yea you can. dead bodys leak fluid. and when that fluid leaves the pores of your face it stains. TADA! havnt you ever drooled on a pillow? leaves a stain...
@crabheart : My point was that world class scientists, who believe it's not the shroud of Jesus, can't explain how it was formed. Even scientists who believe it's a hoax can't explain how it was formed. Of course you know more about it than the top experts in their respective fields who have studied the shroud for decades. Did you even watch the program, DUMBASS?
@goldenthroat86 yea you can. dead bodys leak fluid. and when that fluid leaves the pores of your face it stains. TADA! havnt you ever drooled on a pillow? leaves a stain...

This is done in blatant disregard to the 2nd Commandment. Do not make any graven images! I mean, it's awesome to see our Savior in center stage where He belongs, but this is a violation of one of His commandments.
@katmariebokon Keep in mind that the 2nd commandment is part of a larger piece of legislation under the jurisprudence of the Levites, who no longer exist, and were, at any rate, superseded by Christ. That God gave such a law there is no doubt. That Christ fulfilled that law is clear. It follows, then, that the 10 commandments are only extrinsically binding; some of them express natural law, which is universal, and others the Church has incorporated into her legislation... (cont.)
... (cont.) which the faithful are bound to as children are to a parent. With this in mind, it ought to be clear that the Church, taking into consideration the conditions within which the faithful live, is free to apply the wording of the 10 commandments to her own situation, so long as in doing so she does not violate absolute divine law (which is, in any case, impossible).
This is the same reason why the laws regarding kosher are not now binding, as well as those old laws governing mildew.
@dsydebot I disagree with your view that the 10 Commandment Law is no longer operative, but that is another lengthy conversation for another time. That aside I would ask you to consider this question - what is the underscoring intention behind each commandment? God did not flippantly administer His moral code of behavior. None of God's commandments are arbitrary in nature. Rather they are purposeful, protective, and directive. He didn't command us not to steal "simply because"....(cont)
@katmariebokon No one is saying that the 10 commandments were given arbitrarily. My point was that the 10 commandments are part of a larger system of law, the regulating body of which was the Levites. That sacerdotal and judicial body is currently defunct, and even when it still operated, its realm of jurisdiction was limited to the 12 tribes of Israel. For the Christian, the authority that body once had now rests firmly in the Church Christ founded.
Regarding the reason behind the 2nd commandment (as it stands in the Western Protestant numbering) is connected intimately with what images in the ancient near east were thought to be. They were conceived as objects that made present the power of thing imaged. The better the image, the better it could channel the power of the thing it imaged. God's command against images was a way of saying that neither he, nor his angels, could not be controlled in this way.
Finally, we ought to note that the commandment wasn't without exceptions, even during the time of the Old Covenant; consider, for instance, the cherubim on the Ark of the Covenant.
Who are you to say that Jesus never existed? If He never existed then how did 12 random guys spread an idealology all over the world. How did this one man who never existed change the entire religious outlook of the roman empire? You have absolutly no evidance suggestin that God doesn't exist and that Jesus never lived. So F*** off!!!!!!
There is billions of Muslims, Muhammad changed the world just like Jesus did. So by your logic, The Quran is true to right ? Or are you special pleading for Christianity ?
300 years after jesus only 5% of the roman empire was christian, and most not the same as your modern idea. It wasn't until after Constantine adopted it as his religion that it got real famous. The people who converted were pagans, The Jews knew, Jesus according to the OT was evil. Read Deuteronomy 13
Some believers of this religion believe he was black because according to their Bible, it said Jesus's skin was dark. Some think he's black, some think he's tan.
I have a completely different theory. People say we are in the end times. Revelations teaches of an anti-christ. People believe computers may be linked to helping the mark of the beast, and a single global economy. If a computer generates a 3D image... could not this be the face of the Anti-Christ. With so many not believing in God. This dude shows up... matches the picture... must be GOD!!! Hey now... I BELIEVE!!! This may be the only link to authenticate an Anti-Christ!!!!
As for the OT, here is the problem that is with it. Yahweh is NOT a singular god. Yahweh was Abraham's family god. In the time of Abraham, the Jews, then known as the nomadic tribe called Hiksos, were PAGANS. Yahweh was the storm/war god...hence this explains why the OT god is such a dick and sadist. God is love, God is everything good. God would not condemn (it's) creations because they refused to be (it's) cheerleader. The biblical god is a hoax, a simple Pagan god. Do your research.
@thegame42640 because heaven is not a place in the clouds. The divine is already inside all of us despite what the major religions would like you to think. I will quote one of Jesus REAL sayings. "If your leaders say to you, 'Look, the (Father's) kingdom is in the sky,' then the birds of the sky will precede you. If they say to you, 'It is in the sea,' then the fish will precede you. Rather, the (Father's) kingdom is within you and it is outside you." Read the Gnostic texts people.
CH - struggled with that one myself. Yes, he knows the outcome. But he did not create a failure. He gave us freewill, He gave everyone an opportunity. I am so glad I am not in OT times, tell ya straight up... I'd been screwed. It does seem cruel, but do not forget just because you know the outcome. Doesn't make it evil. We are all going to be dead. But I am glad now I am alive. Would have rather lived for a time... than not lived at all. Make any sense???
wasn't black nor white.....was a jew...Ciaphes!....you knew the truth....sir....21st century news is egocentric....we all are....love your brothers and sisters....remember man is weak....follow the path....
CH - If it was black and white. A no brainer. Where would faith come in? Would not every person on Earth then not have the same beliefs. How boring would that be. Would it be grace? or would it be Hell?
@CivilHuman That is some screwed up logic. Just because God knew that Adam and Eve would fall does not mean that's what He wanted. He gave us all free will to choose. He loves us so much He gives us the choice not to choose Him. Have you ever heard the saying "If you really love something you will let it go". And God does try to intervene but people choose to ignore it.
C H - You will not be able to set people from thier mind frame. It takes away free will. God's intentions were not to have a bunch of robots running around. Tho, that is exactly what many churches want. Find the song... want to be a clone by Steve Taylor... hits it on the head. I have found preaching is not what we are supposed to do. Kind of like a son or daughter... they vandalize your neighbors car... you don't hate your son or daughter, you hate what they did. Not easy to do.
In the Quran, God describes Himself: Say, He is God, the One. God, to Whom the creatures turn for their needs. He begets not, nor was He begotten, and there is none like Him. (Quran, 112:1-4)
Civil Human... I thank you for your honesty. I too doubted many a things. And the Christians pounding right and wrong into your head. wrong. I believe in the 10 Commandments being black and white. Smoking, Drinking etc. that is grey areas not to be judged by man..it I feel is between you and "GOD" whoever that may be in your life. Hypocracy is a fault, and it is rampid. I still won't debate a fairy tale.. because there is no point. I understand your disgust of bigots. Not up to man to judge.
murderville your statement is very igonorant. Jesus was not african american or mexican. He was a jew. Which means that he was white to dark skinned. Jewish. Look up what Jewish people look like and then you will have an idea of his color. It true that he as been portrayed with fair skin which may be true but he may have also been rather dark. But, not black
Civil Human... what you are doing is the equivilant to me saying the Easter Bunny does not exist... then going into a library, pulling up books on it and debating this. Absolutely the same. If he did not exist... state it... end it, If you have doubts... which you obviously do... research it. Why concern yourself to which fictional characters of the world others choose to believe in??? If a child believes in Santa, I sure am not going to ruin for him. Why such a killjoy... why the preaching???
Why try to help people leave the cult of Christianity.
One it's a fairy tale,
Two it has real world implications, Such as its stance on gay rights, One bigot i can get off the street is a good thing. The I'm good there evil mentality has plagued the world. Nothing thing slows the human progress, like dogmatic religion.
Three, I enjoy studying these things and debating.
Four, Using faith, leads you to be less skeptical, Faith is not a valid reason to believe things.
Civil Human... in re-reading your comments... you contradict yourself... You state Jebus did not die he went straight to heaven... and then you state he did not exist. You cannot put your no existant person into debate as far as his death goes. If he did not exist... you debate ends there. If you question his existance, you cannot say he did not exist. For you do not know yourself. You need to figure out what you truly believe and stand by it.
You say. You cannot put your no existant person into debate as far as his death goes. If he did not exist
If was true it doesn't make any sense, was my point. I gave you the first premises that the story happened and it still doesn't make any sense.
I would love to see your historical evidence of Jesus. The only evidence you have is not contemporary, It has tons of contradictions, and physically impossible things. It makes way more sense as a fabrication. A folk tale
the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. yes, there are physically impossible things that are documented-again, if something is supernatural and more powerful than humans-this is quite logical.
u also brought up that i was following paul...well, prophets also wrote the OT too. both the old and new test. are the inspired, inerrant word of God. if you look at jesus life & death, they do make sense...
... and here's why- because he came as the "last Adam", to show us what it was like to be the garden, not live in the garden...to be the kingdom, to house the spirit of God within instead of it being contained in a box (like it was in the old test). also jesus had issues with the pharisees bc they lacked faith and worshiped the law, not God.
and, yes, the truth is that you are no longer a christian bc you choose to be but its still an emotional decision not based on intellect.
Jesus came to tell the Jews They weren't following the laws good enough. He was a Jew.
These are jesus words not pauls
Mathew 5:17"Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them.
20 For I tell you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law, you will certainly not enter the kingdom of heaven.
"god sacrificed himself to appease himself". this is logical thinking to humans bc we cant understand the depth of his love-so, you r right, it doesnt make sense. you dont have to understand it, just accept it and believe it. his ways r not our ways-they cant be measured by human wisdom, fine sounding argument.
You no know that's a horrible answer. It makes no sense at all. Be honest, It's ok to question god, Out one side of your mouth you say god is great, then the next sentence you peteray god as this petty figure who cares what food we eat, and say his message is illogical to us. . It really makes no sense.
im trying to reply to each email update i received..good conversation. so jesus celebrated the passover (thursday) with his disciples (john 19), then died on preparation day (mark 14) which took place on a friday bc it always occurred on the day prior to a particular religious festival, which always took place on the sabbath... and then sunday was resurrected.
judas did hang himself, ( matt 27 & luke covers this too). his body was bloated and swollen and when it fell, or was cut down, or the rope broke, yes, he burst like any other spoiled animal would. its fine if you want to try to turn things into contradictions; we see what we want to see, right? even scholars. i think its about
being open to the truth because there is one truth-like u said both sides cant b correct. i promise u, if u r willing to see the truth, no matter if that truth is there is a god, there isnt a god, jesus was or wasnt who he said he was, etc- then you will see it. it really is that simple
science only bolsters the existence of god btw. its pretty amazing actually
first, deut. 13 is about false gods, which yes god abhors. however, jesus pointed people towards god, period. god is the 'i am', the same yesterday and today.
second, sure thats what free will is-question things, life, death, heaven, hell, people, whatever but that doesnt mean god isnt still great. yes, he does care about what we eat, what we do (jesus talked about how we should not worry bc even the smallest of details he knew & cared about) thats why he healed people
What i mean in deut 13 is what it says about the commandments. The 613 laws of Moses. Not ten, which people who haven't read the bible think. Al tho even if you go with the ten, Christians still don't follow them.
The laws are whats most important to the OT god.
You would say straight up jesus came and changed the laws, but Deut 13 says any one who does is evil.
It's hard to verses not from paul that are against the ot laws. If you read what jesus says there still valid.
Please read John 19:31-32 and mark 15:6 obviously glaring contradiction.
Mathew says he hung him self nothing about his guts falling out.
Acts say his guts fell out but nothing about hanging.
By harmonizing these you are making your own gospel, which is totally different than what they say. Even what judas did with the money is a contradiction.
Theirs really no way around this. Trying reading the gospels side by side ones, You will notice tons contradictions.
When someone reports what happened at the scene of an accident, you will get two different perspectives.. sometimes COMPLETELY different. The Gospels are just that. Matthew was not a Doctor, therefore he would not go into the "medical" details about the death. Luke (who wrote the book of Acts) was a physician. A doctor would describe the "details" in the death.
Also worth noting that NOTHING in the Bible has ever been proved false... nor ever will.
@heidi12776 yes its very very hard to give a medical opinion who has a bruised eye, whips on the back and legs, a crown of thorns on the head, and of course having nails in the palm of the hand. I think we need an expert opinion on the obvious dont u think?

@heidi12776 I don't know about that. Here are a few false notes to consider. Joshua 10:12-14, that says that the sun travel around the Earth. There is actual hundreds of these in the bible as we know it today.
Some one close to me, Nope not really. Why Do you ask. ?
He may heal people, I have never herd of a case, And plenty of people from other religions claims there god does miracles. FYI
Exodus 4:11 11 The LORD said to him, "Who gave man his mouth? Who makes him deaf or mute? Who gives him sight or makes him blind? Is it not I, the LORD ?
Isaiah 45:7
7 I form the light and create darknes, I bring prosperity and create disaster; I the LORD, do all these things.
@CivilHuman Good quote! I agree with you on that. Even for man to try and depict a picture like this of Jesus is most sinful. People will believe it's true and maybe worship the image over the message of Jesus. It's very strange though that in the show, they started talking about the age of the cloth, and then diverted away from the subject. Because we all know it isn't real. This was all too common of a Jewish burial for the crucified. Could have been anyone.
Also one thing we missed in the show. Jesus's color. Any Hebrew of the biblical era would have been much darker then what they showed. Like I mentioned in a previous message. Real Jews, not today's fake Jews. He would have had much darker skin, and very short in height. Remember folks, these are descendants of the Babylonians. They would have looked just like modern Palestinians look today, or the Jews of Iraq. This image was definitely biased toward the old European view point again as usual.
Civil Human... have stated this in the past. Historians/Scientist do NOT question there was a man... Jesus. You will be much more correct in admitting his existance. Your question, if you want to be accurate is who he was. Just a man, which I think is the route you probably would go... or the Son of God. If you deny Jesus existed... then you are REALLY out there.
I am surprise no Christians have thought of this. In the end times... which many believe we are in... the teaching is of the coming of an Anti-Christ. Computers are to hold the mark of the beast. SO... my question... Would not a Computer enhanced 3D image not creat the Passport Photo to make the Anti-Christ a real and accepted person upon his entry into the world????
is that a BLUNT in jesus mouth lol?

God called me Israel through the Good News Translation of Jeremiah 31:20, which states, "Israel, you are my dearest child, the one I love best. Whenever I mention your name, I think of you with love. I'd rather have my head cut off from my body than be anything other than Christian.
allrza 1 year ago
God called me Israel on August 11th, 2002, through the Good News Translation of Jeremiah 31:20. i know a lot more than you think i do. physical appearance is a hang up of Satan, adulterous women, and white supremacists. im not going to sit up in heaven, look at the Messiah, and say, "thank God im european. thank God im white. thank God that he made me superior to other men." thats what Haylale did and it got him kicked out of heaven, idiot.

the letter from pilate to caesar doesnt contain a comment about eye color. the comments about His eye color are in different sources. it would help if the vatican would actually say what it did and didnt have in regards to this. i think the best bet would be not to dwell on His appearance while He was on earth, but rather His present appearance, which is in Revelation. "His head and His hair white like wool, His eyes a flame of fire." (Rev. 1:14).

@TaknTokes Its not just some random guy because in order to make an image like that to we would need the heat from a laser that even we dont have now. The image is on the opposite side of the cloth. allrza 1 year ago

@allrza Adam VS Jesus? what do you think?
Why was prophet Adam not considered as bring GOD like Jesus?
We know that Adam was created by GOD without a father and a mother.
JESUS (pbuh) is a god (the son of god), as our dear Christians say: god is the father of Jesus.
what about Adam (pbuh)? should we not call him GOD? or the son of god?
what do you think?
meyara1983 1 year ago
@meyara1983 Jesus is the Word--the Logos--incarnate. Which is to say, he is the transcendent principle of rationality of the universe--God's own intimate knowledge of Himself, so perfect that this intellectual Word is in every way equal to his Father. One cannot say the same of Adam.
dsydebot 1 year ago

@HOLLY727e Please review the 2nd commandment friend. :)
katmariebokon 1 year ago
@katmariebokon Keep in mind that the 2nd commandment is part of a larger piece of legislation under the jurisprudence of the Levites, who no longer exist, and were, at any rate, superseded by Christ. That God gave such a law there is no doubt. That Christ fulfilled that law is clear. It follows, then, that the 10 commandments are only extrinsically binding; some of them express natural law, which is universal, and others the Church has incorporated into her legislation... (cont.)
dsydebot 1 year ago

He didn't command us not to steal "simply because"....(cont)
katmariebokon 1 year ago
@katmariebokon No one is saying that the 10 commandments were given arbitrarily. My point was that the 10 commandments are part of a larger system of law, the regulating body of which was the Levites. That sacerdotal and judicial body is currently defunct, and even when it still operated, its realm of jurisdiction was limited to the 12 tribes of Israel. For the Christian, the authority that body once had now rests firmly in the Church Christ founded.
dsydebot 1 year ago
Regarding the reason behind the 2nd commandment (as it stands in the Western Protestant numbering) is connected intimately with what images in the ancient near east were thought to be. They were conceived as objects that made present the power of thing imaged. The better the image, the better it could channel the power of the thing it imaged. God's command against images was a way of saying that neither he, nor his angels, could not be controlled in this way.
dsydebot 1 year ago
Finally, we ought to note that the commandment wasn't without exceptions, even during the time of the Old Covenant; consider, for instance, the cherubim on the Ark of the Covenant.

If god is all knowing. Him punishing us for our actions is pretty insane.
Its like creating something to do what it does and then getting mad.
Just like the garden of eden god knew they were going to eat from the tree when he created them. So basically he got mad at what he wanted.
A tough contradiction, All knowing and freewill
You also run in to problems like, God creates people just to go to hell, He knows before we are born where going to hell, but doesn't intervene.
CivilHuman 1 year ago
@CivilHuman That is some screwed up logic. Just because God knew that Adam and Eve would fall does not mean that's what He wanted. He gave us all free will to choose. He loves us so much He gives us the choice not to choose Him. Have you ever heard the saying "If you really love something you will let it go". And God does try to intervene but people choose to ignore it.

If you raped some one, and I said I will take the blame and punishment, Is justice being severed ?
Does it make sense, God killed him self to appease him self ?

... and here's why- because he came as the "last Adam", to show us what it was like to be the garden, not live in the garden...to be the kingdom, to house the spirit of God within instead of it being contained in a box (like it was in the old test). also jesus had issues with the pharisees bc they lacked faith and worshiped the law, not God.
and, yes, the truth is that you are no longer a christian bc you choose to be but its still an emotional decision not based on intellect.

What do you think about Deuteronomy 13 ?

im trying to reply to each email update i received..good conversation. so jesus celebrated the passover (thursday) with his disciples (john 19), then died on preparation day (mark 14) which took place on a friday bc it always occurred on the day prior to a particular religious festival, which always took place on the sabbath... and then sunday was resurrected.

judas did hang himself, ( matt 27 & luke covers this too). his body was bloated and swollen and when it fell, or was cut down, or the rope broke, yes, he burst like any other spoiled animal would. its fine if you want to try to turn things into contradictions; we see what we want to see, right? even scholars. i think its about

@CivilHuman
being open to the truth because there is one truth-like u said both sides cant b correct. i promise u, if u r willing to see the truth, no matter if that truth is there is a god, there isnt a god, jesus was or wasnt who he said he was, etc- then you will see it. it really is that simple
science only bolsters the existence of god btw. its pretty amazing actually

@CivilHuman
first, deut. 13 is about false gods, which yes god abhors. however, jesus pointed people towards god, period. god is the 'i am', the same yesterday and today.
second, sure thats what free will is-question things, life, death, heaven, hell, people, whatever but that doesnt mean god isnt still great. yes, he does care about what we eat, what we do (jesus talked about how we should not worry bc even the smallest of details he knew & cared about) thats why he healed people
adoroughable 1 year ago
@adoroughable
If you read what jesus says there still valid.

he healed people bc it was personal. he heals people now bc its personal, bc he cares, even about the little things.
just a question but have you suffered a loss of someone close to you?

Hi :)

Also worth noting that NOTHING in the Bible has ever been proved false... nor ever will.
heidi12776 1 year ago

Could have been anyone.
chipmaster86 1 year ago

Most of these people grown up believing this. It's wise to not say anything bad about their beliefs. In fact, I find this video kind of interesting.
