A Campbell Cane could be an interesting senior defense device. I was asked last year about designing a cane that could be functional, artistic and defensive. The latest design fits this description. I was involved in martial arts in the 60's..now I am way over 60. I would not want to be on the other end.
yeah that teacher is a ass hole just cuz hes sifu dont make him better then anyone its a demo you dont have to put people in pain to show them how to do something
come on, do you really expect people to walk around carrying a cain just incase? seems like a quick money making martial art. All your locks seem to be valid though. They all seem like small circle jujitsu locks...but with a cain.
I agree with DOA91 all weoponized self defence has one basic rule. is it is not in your hand you wil not use it. So that is why my i teach my students to defend with anything that you might carry or use anyway. Like a spoon or magazine and yes some people carry a cane or an ubrella...
It is, some of the techniques done with a cane are used to help the elderly or anyone that needs the cane. Now with the cane you don't necessarily need to be extremely quick or particularly strong. all you need is for the wood to make contact with the bone, and it's over and done with. In reality, almost anyone can pick up a cane and be a pro, so to say, with it
So you ask why people would be carrying a cane, fine, maybe you need a cane, maybe you don't, but remember this isn't the whole video, if you buy the video, Robaina shows how if you don't have the cane, you can still apply the same technique, but without the cane.

I think it's more aimed at those older practitioners who do actually carry a cane. I found that explanation to be some what self-explanatory.

Spoon? Would it be used like a hand baton? More info please, thank you.

@Shreelar I can use a spoon to place jointlocks, pressurepointstrikes, hand extension, throw, disarm a knife, choke... you name it.
