I had this doll when I was 11. It never worked properly. I took good care of my toys, but it broke a week after I got her. She wouldn't poo and only one of her eyes cried... then I saved money to buy another one, because I didn't want to return that one :P and it was the same thing. Piece of crap!

my daddy bought me a baby born.you would feed it and the mouth would get cloged up with dried up baby food and if you took it with you in the bath tub it would get full of water and it would constantly leak water all the time. but it was fun..i couldnt find a black one at the time so i just got the white one..good times haha. sorry. i wanted to share haha

@partygirl209 Yes, my boyfriend has his BA in human development. That's how I figured it out. Girls nromally have a maternal instinct that they biologically pursue. That's why they like to play games like "Doctor" where they get to be a physician or "House" where they get to be the mom. Boys are full of energy and they like to play games where they could be the protecter so "Cops and Robbers" or other action packed games intestest them.  Not all the time is this the case, but the majority.

It's not really about wanting to be a mother. It's a natural desire to mimic adults; both boys and girls will replay nurturing acts their parents do with them with their dolls--reading, dressing, feeding, etc. It also gives them a feeling of power and control. Mom and Dad tell them what to do, they in turn can tell their dolls and toys what to do. Either way, this kind of pretend play is very good for child development; it teaches gentleness and encourages nurturing. :)

I agree with you, but actually they do make realistic dolls for parents who can't have babies for medical reasons. They're actually pretty cool! They even can make them with devices in them to make them look like they are breathing or have a heartbeat!

Cool! And yah, I agree that having a doll doesn't mean you want kids, that's actually a reason some people do get reborns, because they don't want kids but they still want the cuteness and the fun of one and all. :P I want a reborn but I don't want a baby - yet. How much did it cost??
