For the launch ads, in particular the one with the floating doll, I think "crazy" is a great descriptor. What in that ad could possibly make you want the product? As for this one, LBP is a great game and should be showcased in a more descriptive manner. Basically, whether or not the ads make sense, they fail to entice consumers into buying stuff, which is the point of advertising.
The floating doll symbolizes the PS3 "giving birth to a new era of gaming". This ad asks "Have you started your wish list yet". Think. Christmas is coming. And have you put the PS3 on your wish list? There's a bigger ad campaign coming on Nov. 21. This ad isn't selling LBP. It's selling the idea that the PS3 is going to be on your wish list. LBP already has ads running for it. Another one would be redundant. Just because you don't get it doesn't mean it's not working.
Well, we'll see if they were effective when they announce the holiday sales numbers. I still maintain the opinion that there has to be a better way to sell the system but maybe you're right and I'm just a no-nothing who fails to appreciate the artistic genius behind Sony's campaign.
I'm a PS3 fanboy but I must say that I don't understand these PS3 commercials. I've seen some pretty good ones, and this is not one of them. Having said that, I think the PS3 rocks, and because BluRay can hold more content than the 360, it's only logical to think that the 360 is holding game development back, thanks to developers having to make "smaller" games so they fit in the 360.

For the launch ads, in particular the one with the floating doll, I think "crazy" is a great descriptor. What in that ad could possibly make you want the product? As for this one, LBP is a great game and should be showcased in a more descriptive manner. Basically, whether or not the ads make sense, they fail to entice consumers into buying stuff, which is the point of advertising.

The floating doll symbolizes the PS3 "giving birth to a new era of gaming". This ad asks "Have you started your wish list yet". Think. Christmas is coming. And have you put the PS3 on your wish list? There's a bigger ad campaign coming on Nov. 21. This ad isn't selling LBP. It's selling the idea that the PS3 is going to be on your wish list. LBP already has ads running for it. Another one would be redundant. Just because you don't get it doesn't mean it's not working.

Well, we'll see if they were effective when they announce the holiday sales numbers. I still maintain the opinion that there has to be a better way to sell the system but maybe you're right and I'm just a no-nothing who fails to appreciate the artistic genius behind Sony's campaign.

I'm a PS3 fanboy but I must say that I don't understand these PS3 commercials. I've seen some pretty good ones, and this is not one of them. The PS3 is so good, but the commercials aren't showing what it is able to do. instead it shows that one good game is exclusive to it. Even though we have like 100 of them. PS3 is tha shit. The only thing That I don't like about the playstation 3, Is that many people cant afford it in this days economy, I mean, I get pissed when I hear about a new game that looks like fun, and then i realize its on PS3. The X-box is way cheaper thus having me to keep playing it. If the PS3 was just a little cheaper then i Would buy it. But today i guess my dreams of playing mirror's edge and L.B.P are crushed.

Having said that, I think the PS3 rocks, and because BluRay can hold more content than the 360, it's only logical to think that the 360 is holding game development back, thanks to developers having to make "smaller" games so they fit in the 360.
