If the bill hadnt been cut, dismantled, and compromised on because of republican and insurance company interference, we would have a single payer system with no premium. The sacrifice to the insurance companies interest is what your bitching about.
You mean the Republicans who didn't even have the numbers to filibuster? You must have a very short memory because the Democrats controlled both the House and Senate with a super majority. They had the numbers to push anything through with or without Republican support. All the interference was from the Democrats themselves. Even they didn't know what was in the bill. The big "till 26" was left out when signed, and needed a special session to be put back in.
@DApointman I said, republican *AND* insurance company opposition. There are just as many democrats bought and paid for through campaign finance by Insurance companies. Which is why the process was brought behind closed doors against the obama campaign promise, which is why a real discussion about single payer was thrown off the table before anyone could blink. I disagree with the way the bill was put together in almost every way possible, its basically a mandate to buy insurance, which is crap
@stewscum Obama not only didn't voice opposition to the closed door process and locking the Republicans out, he cheered it on. It was closed so the public couldn't see all the crooked accounting and mandates. And while insurance lobby influence is undeniable, claiming they bought Democrats is just convienent ignorance.. Which ones were bought? Or was it just a blanket accusation not meant to be supported by evidence. And with such a flawed bill, why didn't Obama veto it for a better bill?
@DApointman Why didn't Obama veto the healthcare bill? He would have passed anything, as his campaign promise, to give a health care consumer bill of rights. Overwhelming opposition to a government option and a single payer system is only taken from polls that say that people most polled like the health care the way they are and the tea party who had a sudden rush of fiscal responsibility. Neither represent a majority of the american people. But enough to shove it off the table.
@stewscum The single payer system was thrown out because it was that unpopular. Democrats knew they couldn't get it passed even though they didn't require a single Republican vote. Even Obama admitted that and stopped pushing for it. The Republicans had NO influence on the bill, as their votes were not required and they were not allowed in the discussion(which Obama said nothing about but accused them of offering nothing). He lauded the process; so was he "bought" too?
@DApointman There was a televised circus with the republican leadership to discuss healthcare. They had their shot and they wanted to expand the ability of insurance companies to sell their product across state borders and basically restrict peoples ability to sue doctors for malpractice (whether it's justified or not). How do I know the process was bought by inurance and Pharma lobbyist? Because we are now stuck with a mandate to buy healthcare from a private companies.
@DApointman Any candidate receiving Insurance donations was bought. I dont know how else to say, other than almost every post for this video, that I despise the way this bill was put together in every almost every sense except for the consumer bill of rights. I'm sure you thought it was fair for customers to buy into insurance with no right of getting the healthcare you paid toward. Also, the premise of the video, which is debt is a false narrative. Defense and healthcare b4 obama was doin that
@stewscum ROTFLMAO. "we would have a single payer system with no premium". LOL. The premium would be replaced by an exhorbitant taxe just like it is in Europe. If you think that Health Care is expensive now, just wait until it is free and thousands of bureaucrats who cannot be fired feed on it.
@Scarlette0hara There are already thousands of bureaucrats who cannot be fired running health care. They are called the Insurance industry and Big Pharma. At least a third of every dollar spent on health care goes to the insurance industry, and for what exactly? To have the power to exclude a paying customer from coverage? To drop customers when the get sick? To stand for profit margins while pissing on the people who need them the most? They report to their share holders. Not the people.
@Scarlette0hara Also, you forget to take into account the average individuals medical care, including mothing payments, premiums, and so on and you may be surprised when you compare the percentages. You pay for it one way or the other.
It is very simple by spreading the wealth under Obamacare is that the young and healthy will pay higher premiums to cover the sick and elderly. See it doesn't matter if you exercise or live and eat healthy you will be forced to pay for those who don't.
Obama is also making you pay Social Security and Medicare taxes. You will never receive any benefits from these programs.

I Blame Bush!
It's ALL BUSH's FAULT that:
OweBama "inherited" an unemployment level of 7% and raised it to almost 10%
That the DEMs wasted 800 billion dollars in stimulus that led to a "recoverless" recovery.
That OweBama tripled the deficit that Bush ran up in 8 years in just 18 months
And yes it is ALL BUSH's Fault that OweBama is INCOMPETENT
