  • my friends got one too those things are hard to find man

  • super bad ass !

  • so when it's in manual mode it's basically switching over to a manual valve body?

  • @corvettels9 that cant be true, you need a manual valve body to manually shift, or else the trans automatically shifts to the next gear.

  • @firechicken76 couldn't it have both? I would assume that's how they did that, at least at one point before the computers. Hurst offered this same system in the '69 GTO from the factory, long before they had computers in cars.

  • i swore that was factory till you said it wasnt very nice work

  • tomuch shit to it nah dont like it

  • Can you make a video of this shifter in action, maby explaining how it works too?

  • @GMdrivingMOPARguy I sure will. Very soon.

  • @GMdrivingMOPARguy

OK I finally posted a demonstrarion. Same title as this video with "part 2 with demo on shifting" at the end.

  • Another great one still offered that fits low like that is the BMM-80692. Built just for Camaro/Trans Am

  • I bought one of the last as they were discontinued a month later.

  • where'd you find that shifter kit?? thats sweet.

  • also i forgot to mention mine is exactly the same just blue

  • hey where did u get the steering wheel cover? i have a blue 1 in my 87 iroc-z camaro

  • @327am It was there when I bought it. I now have a new factory wheel. Looks great.

  • @327am It cost $175 on E-Bay

  • Whats the advantage of this shifter, What's it's main purpose?

  • @cookstcrew When racing to manually shift without missing gears.

  • I was just about to write they no longer make it...

  • I can move the shifter over to the right side and as I push up it will only go up one gear so I don't go from 1st to 3rd.

I'll never sell the shifter. No longer in production. I see them on E-bay from time to time for $500 and up.

  • @irocz28iroc no ya don't I just found 6 for less then a 100

  • @Gumbie2009 Verg good. Maybe some old stock is getting sold.

  • Would You be Interested in selling that Shifter?

  • never mind i just checked, yearone doesn't have it anymore but they still have it in their part book

  • That is a badass shifter i plan on getting one for my 92 RS,and weiandblower yearone still sales the z gate shifters but they are the only ones that i know of that sells them

  • just like the oldschool hurst his/hers shifter that they put in GTOs

  • But I do have to say that I love the firm gear change with each shift. The left side acts as a manually operated shift gate. You just push up and right for each shift and it stops for each shift. kuulkatadadieo I don't know if it would fit your car because its meant for 200r4 and 700r4 transmissions. I think you have a turbo 350. If you have overdrive it should be fine. Darylpolo nobody sells the shifter anymore because Hurst discontinued it a couple months ago.

  • It's as close as you can get to perfect. The shifter cable is long and has to be routed around the transmission crossmember, the ash tray has to be cut off from the original and fit under the dual gate faceplate, and the shifter has to be moved around to align it right under the faceplate , the steering column lock cable also has to be adjusted just right so the reverse lights go on when there supposed to and also so the steering column turns freely.

  • thats looks god i got a 87 camaro and interested in that. where u get it and price?

  • So can you shift manually also? I have a 89 GTA & would be interested in getting one of those.
