  • I wish I had drive to master my instrument as a youth. This is the result. Lawd Hav' Mercy

  • 0:35 Victor wooten

  • orgasmics bendings...nice suond, very clean!

  • dont take my comment seriously it was a joke... sorry if i offended you

  • look its another namm wanker

  • @henniebogan1 I understand what you mean my friend about cats playing all chops at NAMM but, you should do your history on people before you make hating comments...this kid has played bass on tour with legendary musicians like George Duke,Dave Fuscinski,Jack DeJohnette, and is also featured on bass on one of Ne-Yo's top singles called Making A Movie! He's a BASSPLAYER first and he's only 20 years old. He's only doing this to let off some steam and of course people at NAMM only judge you by chops.

  • @henniebogan1 By the way,he was only 16 at the time of this video...you should hear him now...I think your comment would be totally different.Of course it's no big deal because not everyone's gonna like what you do.I've heard people say they don't like my playing and it's no problem because I've made a great living playing bass over the last 20 yrs of my life.I'm not trying to start a fight with you,I'm just letting you know you're off the mark with your comments.Do more research first! Peace!

  • Damn. That boy got talent.

  • I would love to meet this guy I'm a lefty I can't play upside-down like that

  • I'm a lefty in Arkansas I would love to meet this guy I can't play upside down .

  • smokin'!!! first time i ever saw a leftie slap. peace and blessings.

  • Its genetics...His daddy plays bass and has the same strong hands Dwayne Thomas Sr. His grandfather was jazz pianist Charles Thomas...The kid was born to play

  • @nickeyparadise somebody knows their history!! hahaha! Nice!

  • playin a show with him on the 30th of march. Rehearsed with the band today and he is unreal.

  • impresionante!! cosa de virtuosos...

  • any one els notice robert lewis in da background on his bass lol.

he is sittin der playin but i fink he stops near the end to listen to Dwayne

  • upside down. inside out! great!

  • AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • its crazy cool tht he just plays stright upside down...most lefties i know switch the strings around. i'm a lefty but i just learned it right handed. its interesting to see the ways lefties cope with right handed stuff. this dude is a beast though. hes on the BassSessionz vol. 1 dvd from gospelchops, and hes only like 18, i cant wait to see the innovations he's gonna make once he's older

  • He is right handed!

  • Dywane is actually left-handed.He just learned to play upside down because no one told him. He's been playing since he was about 4-5 yrs old.

  • yeah, but he told me he is right handed once at berklee

  • HMMM!! He's holding out on me then!!! hahahaha! I've seen him write with his left hand.Maybe he's ambidexterous?? I wouldn't be surprised! You still in school there?

  • when did he start at berklee?

  • When I asked Dwayne is he left-handed he said, he is right-handed but plays left-handed (playing a right-handed bass upside down).

  • there was an interview with him in bass magazine and im pretty sure he said he's right handed

  • @camthebassist He's right handed.

  • I think even Victor himself couldn't do that... That's amazing...

  • not to b rude or anythin but victor wooten culd defntly do wat he did and a whoooole lot better.

myb not upside down cos he didnt learn like dat but the normal way up, he wuld defntly.

  • does it even matter?

  • @nathanbossoh

Who cares if he could? Why does it matter who can play better?

  • Haha amazing! Great inspiration. I'd better practice my chops...

  • Upside down !!!!

  • What kinda strings does he use on those? They looked really flexible when he did those bends.

  • Not really sure...this kid has really strong hands for his age and you have to onsider he's playing upside down.He has a bit more leverage when bending just because of that.

That is actually Vic's personal bass and the action is really low too...that helps as well.

Send Vic a note,I'm sure he won't mind telling you...he's really that cool of a guy!!

    peace,

    JC

  • fodera victor wooten sig i think.

  • yea, they probably are his signature model strings. don't see why he wouldn't use em.

his technique is really interesting to watch, it being upside down and all.

  • I am actually in awe. I've never cursed so much in shock of how amazing something is before. lol.

    That is insane.

  • killen!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • this guy is sickkkkkkkkk and only 17 this is crazy he has a ibright future ahead

  • respect for the crazy lefty =D

nice playing man, really impressive stuff there

  • Wow, it must be really different/difficult slapping on a bass upside down.

  • NOT IF THATS HOW YOU LEARNED TO PLAY
