  • Can I use any type oil for the batter or does it have to be canola oil?

  • @jenepheraguilar1 Use any type of oil--just regular vegetable oil or peanut oil would be great!

    --Betty :)

  • This was good..... Next time I make this Im going to try to stuff the peppers with some type of cream cheese

  • @treyatl2006 That sounds wonderful!

    --Betty :)

  • You said you can reuse the oil if it doesn't have too much debris, we've used oil before and then once it's cooled, filtered it. Just with a coffee filter. It is still good, and once it has a few "fryings" to it, the oil really starts to give whatever it cooks a nice golden brown.

  • @TheCatFan21 Thanks for your lovely comment and great tip!

  • Is the banana pepper also known as anaheim chilipepper?

  • @ricardorochaharo I think they are similar, but the banana pepper is mild to moderately hot; the other may be hotter.

    --Betty :)

  • I just used this batter for onion rings, only I kinda made it to our tasting by adding 2 tsps of sugar and 1/2 tsp of paprika .. super yummy!! Thanks so much for sharing this!!

  • @jkadams1983 Thanks for the great feedback! I really appreciate it! I like your addition of sugar and paprika. Sounds wonderful!

    --Betty :)

  • Just a hint add about one fourth cup of instant potatos to your batter and it will thicken up just enough to really coat your peppers.

  • @KissHope That sounds like a great idea! Thanks for the tip!

    --Betty :)

  • Looks Tastie..!!!

  • I've never had deep-fried banana peppers before, but this makes me want to try it. Speaking of them though, there's a place where I live where you can make your own wine, and store it so it ages and stuff like that. I knew of someone there who puts banana peppers in their wine, apparently it adds a distinct flavour over the aging process. I was reminded of it thanks to this video. Does that sound like something you would try, Betty? Anyhow, love your recipes :)

  • @Fry1989HD Thanks for your lovely comment! I might try soaking banana peppers in wine.

    --Betty :)

  • Nice Job Betty. check out Penny's Tomatoes video on Cherry Peppers

  • can i use olive oil instead of peanut oil to deepfry theses with

  • @skidmetal20 Olive oil becomes unsafe when heated to this level. Peanut oil is better, but other oils will work, too.

    --Betty :)

  • @skidmetal20 SURE VIRGIN OLIVE OIL HAS NO CHOOLESTEROL

  • Thank u so much for the post I have so many Peppers for my garden an didn't know wat to do will them until now , thanks again ,

  • Hi Betty. Thanks for taking the time to put together these videos. I don't have a deep fryer, can these be pan fried instead?

  • @lpollard80 I would use a pot and put about an inch of oil in it. Then you can get the same deep-fry results.

    --Betty :)

  • Hi Betty, I drop the milk and used Ginger Ale. Works very well also

  • Every one of her recipes has been very yummy! Got to try this one yet.

  • @Trashfished I hope you had an opportunity to try the deep-fried banana peppers! Thanks for your lovely comment!

    --Betty :)

  • Hi,

i agree, you never know if the restaurant really takes that much care about the deep frying like you can do at home...

A lot of the chain restaurants tell you that they use 100% Vegetable oil but it's sort of a 'cream'

so it's a hardened oil that's not that healthy as they claim.

Your thin batter Banana Peppers recipe ain't gonna hurt nobody, they look sooo delicous!

    Can't wait to try 'em!

    Joe

  • Hi Joe!

    --Betty :)

  • Just about anything you like can be a pizza topping! Think of your favorite foods that you have on hand, and whether you want meat or vegetables or cheeses. There's ham, bacon, hamburger, sausage, mushroom, green olives, black olives, onion, green pepper, Swiss cheese, cheddar cheese, jalapenos, etc. Just something you *like*!!!

    Have a great day!
