great recipe i modified it a little bit. turned out great. then i started deep frying everything in the kitchen blackberries broccoli blueberries zucchini it got crazy
You said you can reuse the oil if it doesn't have too much debris, we've used oil before and then once it's cooled, filtered it. Just with a coffee filter. It is still good, and once it has a few "fryings" to it, the oil really starts to give whatever it cooks a nice golden brown.
I just used this batter for onion rings, only I kinda made it to our tasting by adding 2 tsps of sugar and 1/2 tsp of paprika .. super yummy!! Thanks so much for sharing this!!
I've never had deep-fried banana peppers before, but this makes me want to try it. Speaking of them though, there's a place where I live where you can make your own wine, and store it so it ages and stuff like that. I knew of someone there who puts banana peppers in their wine, apparently it adds a distinct flavour over the aging process. I was reminded of it thanks to this video. Does that sound like something you would try, Betty? Anyhow, love your recipes :)
Deep-Fried Sweet Banana Peppers are a real delicacy in the region where I live. They are crisp and delicious! Thanks for your comment! I hope you like the recipe!

Just about anything you like can be a pizza topping! Think of your favorite foods that you have on hand, and whether you want meat or vegetables or cheeses. There's ham, bacon, hamburger, sausage, mushroom, green olives, black olives, onion, green pepper, Swiss cheese, cheddar cheese, jalapenos, etc. Just something you *like*!!!

Is the banana pepper also known as anaheim chilipepper?
ricardorochaharo 9 months ago
@ricardorochaharo I think they are similar, but the banana pepper is mild to moderately hot; the other may be hotter.

Just a hint add about one fourth cup of instant potatos to your batter and it will thicken up just enough to really coat your peppers.

can i use olive oil instead of peanut oil to deepfry theses with
skidmetal20 1 year ago
@skidmetal20 Olive oil becomes unsafe when heated to this level. Peanut oil is better, but other oils will work, too.

Hi Betty. Thanks for taking the time to put together these videos. I don't have a deep fryer, can these be pan fried instead?
lpollard80 1 year ago
@lpollard80 I would use a pot and put about an inch of oil in it. Then you can get the same deep-fry results.

Hi,
i agree, you never know if the restaurant really takes that much care about the deep frying like you can do at home...
A lot of the chain restaurants tell you that they use 100% Vegetable oil but it's sort of a 'cream'
so it's a hardened oil that's not that healthy as they claim.
Your thin batter Banana Peppers recipe ain't gonna hurt nobody, they look sooo delicous!
Can't wait to try 'em!
