This is not the first time someone has cast dispersions at the Bible. Why should they take it so hard? Either you believe or you don't. I think there is plenty of evidence that King David was a true historical person! My question is what happend to the Ark after Solomon?
The Ark of the Covenant was hidden in the time of Jeremiah the prophet, just before the 586BC destruction of Jerusalem by the Babylonian army. It was hidden in a cave about 140m north of where the modern Damascus Gate is today, and was found again by Ronald E. Wyatt, of Nashville Tennessee in January, 1982. It has never been removed from the cave in which it was hidden.
The only "evidence" I've ever read about is a random piece of stone with the words "btdwd" on it, that could be interpreted as "Beth David" or "of the House of David," but it could actually mean any number of things.
That, and if it were a testament to a great king, wouldn't it be in large letters and beautiful calligraphy instead of some random scratches on a piece of rock?
