  • Sordid stories told by a slimy slum-slug.......

  • 3:07 "He's a slum-slug."

  • really enjoyed...thanks for posting...

  • Marvellous stuff.

The very thing missing from British TV these days - PLAYS!!

And how predictable most tv films are compared to this.

    EXCELLENT

    Thanks, of course.

  • McDowell is amazing!

  • putrid slum slug!

  • What a treat. Not only amazing writing and acting, as has been said, but gorgeous composing of the frame, with those huge zoomed-in over-the shoulder close-ups. The styling of Bates' hair is just monumental. An amazing head at all times, Bates, but with that hair, and supported by that collar... stupendous stuff, simply one of the most magnificent bonces in all God's creation, photographed to just stunning effect here.

  • zajebiste! awesome

  • I think its pretty hilarious how the cat changes sots o her at the end....pretty good show though

  • I'm working on it in class. It helps to watch it instead of just reading. Thanks for posting it.

  • I watched this in an acting class in college and loved it. Just brilliant acting! Thanks so much for posting.

  • Thank yo so very much! What a treat to see again something so good. I wonder why these aren't more readily available through the regular channels. I remember a Masterpiece Theatre presentation of "All for Love", 4 short stories brilliantly done. For some reason the were never released. I keep hoping. Thanks again!

  • My God. I wanted it to last forever. Thank you so much for allowing me to discover this wonderfulness.

  • Thanks ever so much for posting these.

    Much appreciated.

  • Can't thank you enough for this. I remember seeing in on the TV in 1976, and have never seen it since, although I have read the play many times. I have been trying to track it down, but it seems very hard to find. If you know where a DVD can be purchased from. As brilliant as I remembered it.

  • Thank you for posting it. Mersi de l'avoir poste. Multumesc pentru film.

  • Not only the play but also the words of John Russell Taylor! Thank you for this teaching play about human nature!

  • That was GREAT!!I was only watching Helen Mirren on Parkinson earlier. Then searched Alan Bates, as I always loved his work. I came across this 'collection'. Thank you for this!! All greats of that time & Helen Mirren: She has achieved so much since as an actress. I think we all love her. Alan was a fabulous character. I loved his films when I was growing up. So good to see. *****

  • Thank you

  • Brilliant***
