@shoulderollHD "Young AI" not "small AI" and skill wise he wasn't better, he just got more playing time and was the main focus on his team. Kobe was nr 3 or 4 behind Shaq, Nick Van Exel, and Eddie Jones and had to play his way to the top and even though that he was still scoring 30+ poinst a game against 98 Bulls and other teams

@shoulderollHD Yes he was, since your argument is based on points (the Chamberlain, Jordan argument) I can safely say prime Kobe was better than prime AI. Kobe had 35.4 ppg in the 2006 season, AI had 33 ppg (both were each players high) and Kobe got a team filled with Smush Parker & Luke Walton as starters within one game of advancing in the playoffs against the 2nd seeded Suns.

AI never wanted to come of the bench, Kobe did so his first 3 years. Believe me Kobe just didnt get enough court time

i have to say AI's best year was 2001.

And maybe it is a game of "what if's" and "maybe" but remove the statistics and you will see that Kobe's always been at the top in terms of basketball skills, even though he might not have been able to showcase them.

Take a look at "GoldLakerlion" oldschool Kobe clips and you won't doubt that he too would've been able to have as big of an impact as AI did his first seasons.

Still only "What if" though!
