He also blocks anybody who makes comments on his videos directing to this video or pointing out that he is a diagnosed psychopath... I guess I shouldn't be surprised about that
It's laughable that he is narcissistic and is offering all this help to victims of narcissism via the web. Um, that's a bit like paedophiles helping molested children to heal. He is blatantly in the public eye targeting people who are victims under the pretence of being a therapist. He is a cold calculating meddling opportunist.
"He has no problem to talking about the demons in side his head. . ." because he, like all sociopaths, is a narcissists. I'm glad they finally took advantage of one emotional idiot to make this documentary. Psychopaths are easy to control once you understand and are trained to spot them.
There is no doubt in my mind that the 4 supervisors I had to deal with over a 4 year period in my job were psycopaths just like this man. These people made it their purpose in life to destroy people who were easy-going, nonconfrontational employees. Time and time again I tried to explain to THEIR supervisor that they were snowballing him with their false faces that they turned on in his presence. Of course I was discredited, retaliated against, & forced to leave behind this workplace from hell.
We humans tend to categorize a lot of things. Psychopath is just a word. It is especially hard to do this when there is little study. Yes it has a definition but like this case there is some traits that apply and some that don't. It doesn't mean this type of psychopath is any more similar than another.
I was diagnosed with Antisocial Personality Disorder when I was 16, I harmed and killed animals when I was bored and often conned people out of money, this man is nothing like me.
@free10yes ..... dude don't hurt animals you can get killed if caught.. trust me people kill people like you .. AND FUCK YOU FOR KILLING animals they have more right to live... and yes im a psycopath

@fidemservare "psychopaths do not often evaluate themselves" where did you get this from? thats just an assumption. some psychopaths are deeply introspective, others are highly observant and analytical. some dont care about themselves or others, while some care about themselves but not others.
Sam doesn't fit most people's perception about the prototypical characteristics of psychopath, because he is an example of a 'white collar psychopathy' - psychopaths in suites that can be destructive and dangerous to his victims in the form of conning rather than killing.
@z3187121 that IS the definition of a psychopath. They can seemingly 'function' very well in society and tend to be very cunning and charismatic. Think Ted Bundy. Sociopaths are the ones that tend to lack social skills and the like.
Lol, I can't imagine how fun it would be to piss Sam off by calling him ugly, stupid, worthless and then saying to him that he can go ahead and hit me if he wants to get assault charges on him and beat to shit house.
Yeah, I've come across his writings about Narcissism over the years. He really is a Cerebral Narcissist. Highly Intelligent, yet a Psychopath, he is not. His self awareness is too high, he can mimic a Psychopath, but pieces of his conscience are there. It may be fragmented and triggers may lower behavior controls, but he's not completely devoid of empathy. He likes to Eff with minds, he's a Narcissist no doubt. He can fly off the handle, but he's burdened with a conscience never the less.
Sam Vaknin, whether he is a narcissist/anti-social personality or a psychopath, needs someone to give him a good smack. Normally I would say he is just an attention seeker but he is extremely intelligent, cunning and seems to just be part of a rare breed of psychopaths; those with skills of introspection (psychopaths generally have less intenal dialogue than others, they don't really know themselves).
I think he is a psychopath, the fact he can single out weak victims proves it.
psychopathy is basically a mental illness where you cannot empathize. You feel no remorse for anything, that's why so many succesful people are psycnopaths. they don't let anything get in their way.
Brain scans and behavioral observations scientifically support that psychopaths exist. Similarly, psychopaths are genetic, while sociopaths are a product of their environment. Sociopaths have experienced such trauma and pain that they emotionally distance themselves as a coping mechanism, to the point of indifference towards others. Unfortunately, becoming a sociopath can easily be prevented by removing the individual from their chaotic environment.
There is no agreed upon distinction between psychopathy and sociopathy. The terms are not standardized, but they mean essentially the same thing. There is no evidence that either term is useful as a term of distinction in reality.
@WugLife That's not entirely true. While psychopaths are considered organized, manipulative and in some cases "charming" (however falsely), sociopaths are much more random in their actions, and see no need to hide their disorder in any way. Pretty much, while psychopaths pretend to blend in, sociopaths have no desire to. One could say sociopathy is an extension on psychopathy, considering their incredible similarities. The main difference is the desire to cover up one's intentions, however bad.
The sociopathy v psychopathy dichotomy is very complex, I agree with most of what you say but I don't think the ability to veil your intentions is the dividing line between the two; isn't it more a matter of the reason why someoen display callous/anti-social traits? I.E. sociopaths are born and psychopaths are made.
Social skills can be low in sociopaths (usually their social skills have a strong positive correlation with their general intelligence levels), but they can continued.
Not all psychopaths are the slick, organised types. Some psychopaths are forever in jail, they are so psychopathic that they are quite literally atavistic, you can't see how they have survived into civilised times. True though, most psychopaths, at least those with normal-bright intelligence levels, can mask their true nature well, but the more extreme ones can't, they are basically ferral.
@theporksicle That's true, I was just saying that usually, the psychopaths are more organized than the sociopaths. However, it does depend on the severity, as when the intensity of one's psychopathy is strong enough that nothing will give them feeling, a "rush", except for the cruel, violent actions that so many seem to show.
Yeah, I think they are a discrete group (i.e. you either are a psychopath or you aren't one) but that within that their pathologies exist on a spectrum. Some of them can be very convincing, very sophisticated and are able to fool everyone around them, others are, as you say, pretty much 'what you see is what you get' (a callous, violent psychopath).
Sadly only the latter kind, or those approaching that end of the spectrum, are available for study.
I disagree with you. There is no scientific or sociological consensus on the differences between the word "psychopath" or "sociopath". The words are used differently by different people, pell-mell and helter skelter.
So, has he been diagnosed with APD (Anti Social Personality Disorder)? If not, this is moot. Psychopaths generally don't admit to having anything wrong with them; they're master liars.
Corporate Psychopaths are successful in business and can get senior managerial and leadership positions. Babiak, P., Neumann, C. S., & Hare, R. D. (2010). Corporate psychopathy: Talking the walk. Behavioral Sciences and the Law, 28(2), 174-193.
I can't stand this man, since I saw him on the videos of narcissism personality, when he speaks I get bored he doesn't transmit anything misterious or interesting he's just not saying anything interesting, he is always just trying to catch the attention.
Sam is just... so real, so objective, and at the same time so cold and so cynic. Maybe the best way to know some psychopath is from a cynic psychopath to tell you how they react to a lot of thinks, to share with you their dairy and writtings, what a good research one could make with something like that, men, psychopaths are one of the mos interesting topics I've ever met in my life.
I suspect that the difference between successful white-collar psychopaths & violent psychopaths is whether or not they have a co-morbid mood disorder.
@Chrome1101 Yes, he's a self-confessed Narcissist, hence attention seeker to the extreme... kind of makes you wonder how he can see that though if the said disorder doesn't allow for introspection as I understand it?
@musicboxchrissy I know what you mean, lol. Narcs don't see anything wrong with them, they just think there better then everyone else, so it wouldn't make sense for one to say that they have a disorder or somethings wrong with them, hence why I think Sam is fake.
Also, that part in the video where the shrink or whatever was laughing/ excited with Sam when they were diagnosing him as a psycho was extremely sketchy, like what professional does that, lol?
@Chrome1101 And the narcissists / psychopaths I have met (not many but a fair few) have been far more verbally abusive and say much more abohrrent things than he says when he's upset, they literally leave you speechless... not merely fuck you or other swear words...
"is the brain really the seat of the mind".. and he's suppose to be intellectual?.. thats the most asinine thing i've heard today.. where else would it be.. in his left buttcheek?
@Djsouthpaw1987 He is questioning weather or not free will has anything to do with brain functioning, in regards to human behaviour. Not that surprising or idiotic
@Jesusmalaark11 that depends.. if he really meant that, and wasn't just trying (and failing) to sound deep and thoughtful.. so be it..
but i still think free will (as christians would think of it at least), is invalid, and not wanting to get into the discussion about determinism and compatibalism, we'll probably just leave it at that
I don't get it, psychopaths don't have emotions according to experts like Hare and Dr Stone but I see Psychopaths and serial killers on Youtube who show lots of deep hate anger and fear, all these are emotions.
There are emotions, but they are different. Basically, psychopaths can't feel love, remorse and many other "higher" emotions, but they can feel anger, happiness of some short (perhaps amusement would suit better), fear (it is comprehended differently, much like an adrenaline burst). And also it depends on severity of psychopathy, since it is not a "black and white" issue although many want to put it as such. Also, keep in mind that psychopaths can be just faking emotions to cause pity.
im 12 and i think im a pyschopath unfortantly i think im going to be one of them who's behind bars.
i've always been facinated by weapons, murder, violence and fire. I fantasize about killing people.
i have set fire's before im very good at not getting caught which is quite good. I try to be calm and charming but quite rarly i have an outburst of angry towards socitey's grown ups and anyone who dares try to control me.
Oh, don't worry. You are just an illiterate idiot. "Good at not getting caught"- yeah, right. Confessing of arson, psychopathy and wanting to kill people over internet does not look that good. I sincerely hope that age is fake in your profile, and you are not using your brother's account to post this bullshit. Also, arson and fantasies do not count. Unless it was a live animal/human set on fire in front of your own eyes. Did you EVER do anything like that? I knew you did not.
Whoops, they want to get "caught." Good thing I cought that one before the spell check police cited me for disorderly verbiage...damn, there I went and did it again. Oh well. It's a fare cop. "Fare," instead of "fair", get it? It's a pun, albeit a poor one.
I agree that many fantasize about getting caught and how glorified they would look. But I do not understand why you wrote this. The kid is obviously an imbecile wanting to look "cool", not a psychopath.
@Exarion23 From what I've read psychopaths actually don't care about being caught or not. They just don't think about the future or the wider consequences of their actions. All they think of is the immediate present and their swift satisfaction. I don't imagine how they could fantasize about going to prison.
They do not lack fantasy, contrary- they fantasize even more than ordinary people. Do you really think that psychopathic serial killers lack fantasy? And getting caught gives certain "ego boost" which is the thing to fantasize about. Imagine if you were an uncaught serial killer giving himself in. All that gratification- books, interviews, letters from mentally disturbed women. Perhaps even a documentary about you. Ha ha..
is there anyways to fix this lack of empathy... i also have a high tolerance to displeasure things like working out, researching boring crap, and physical pain are easily controlled with just a lil bit of mental preperation and determination i also have some traits of multiple personality disorder tho nothing outrages more of a very large capability of being diverse and putitng myself in others thoughts...
im definitally a psychopath muc hlike this guy i try to be good and do things but i have a incredible emotional shallowness... very narsassistic and some what sadistic in the manor that i enjoy the playing with others... i tend to not be extremely violent physically but more then must and my thoughts are very extreme i use alot of mental terrorism and find it more satisfiying then physical domination, to the ego atleast... i try to fidn a women one that i can share all my games and thoughts w/
is this saying that women are Psychopath?

Oh, don't worry. You are just an illiterate idiot. "Good at not getting caught"- yeah, right. Confessing of arson, psychopathy and wanting to kill people over internet does not look that good. I sincerely hope that age is fake in your profile, and you are not using your brother's account to post this bullshit. Also, arson and fantasies do not count. Unless it was a live animal/human set on fire in front of your own eyes. Did you EVER do anything like that? I knew you did not.

@Exarion23 Many psychopaths secretly want to get cought.

Oh, and pun is not that poor. "fare cop" haha

Ha ha..

People who comment that this guy is not a psychopath have probably never known one. I have. This guy is my ex, through and through.
Psychology isn't rocket science. This guy is a psychopath.
