Rumor has it that FHTM is about to implode as 4 of its top money earners seek other companies for their teams. How much will the quasi-leaders be paid to convince you to go elsewhere now. I bet it upwards of a Million. Good luck!
Were you with Gayfers? If so - may I ask which location? Also, did you know or ever work with Charles Chadwick? Kerby (Atlanta) - formally Ft. Walton Beach and Pensacola.
@KerbyWill I was with Gayfers in Orlando at the Fashion Square mall location until 1997. I don't think I ever worked with Charles Chadwick. The name isn't familiar. I wasn't regularly in communication with stores outside central Florida.
a lot of creativity has gone from our shops ,its all two headless models stood in a window , none of the glamour , i was v.m in the uk and did freelance sometimes, sometimes voluntary work ,i could go into an empty window , some paints , a few mannequinnes ,some greenery and do wonders on a budget of zero ,i too are also turning my talents to other things but amazing work ,i loved this , you can take me out of v.m but you cant take v.m out of me ,
I like to think I'm a former VM. Too many lay-offs and retail doesn't seem to attract the best and brightest. I'm back in school to start a new direction.
Great video! I am very interested in this field of fashion and business and was wondering if you could tell me what sort of degrees and training one would have to do in order to be successful in this career?
It's all about portfolios. Start out as Christmas help at a department store. Take pictures of everything you do. Degrees may be helpful or they can hurt you. There's plenty of competition and no one will hire someone with a broader background than their own. There's plenty of flakes in the field. Be prepared. Many, I believe have real mental issues. There's immaturity and jealousy issues and the profession seems to accept and nuture it. It's a strange world. Good Luck!
