@dwilson4268 I did my test on this bike and was granted a restricted 'A' license, limited to 33BHP for 2 years. Now, after 2 years I'm unrestricted and can ride any bike.
if your a new rider and considering a jinlun well you could do worse but for a little bit more money u can do a lott lott better these bikes look nice i suppose but most of it is cheap plastic pieces .the low quality chinese nuts and bolts mean if u over tighten anything just a little bit to much it will snap and scheer if your very lucky you will obtain a jinlun engine that will do more than 3k miles from new without farting out bits .id recommend if u want a great 125 cruiser a honda vt 125
@themooseOFpower I am doing my CBT next week, I was looking at honda shadow 125 VT for around £1500 but could get a jinlun for alot less... yes I agree, they look and sound great but not built very well... However I noticed most people who have these bikes only use them for one year before doing a DAT test and buying a bigger bike... so I guess, Buying a jinlun for a year is okay, bcus thats what im gonna do.. then get a Yamaha Vstar 650 :)
@TheXhoobx there not as bad as some people say its just becuase they are a 125 first time riders have them a lott with no experience in maintinence or mechanics and dont know how to tweak and look after there bikes properly or fix them. there is a jinlun owners club online you should join u can get a lot of help there from other jinluin riders should you need it ever
@themooseOFpower I have noticed something with the jinluns... they all seem to be twin pistol (not V-twin I know what that is lol) But they have 2 pistons and dual exhausts... compared to say the Pioneer nevada which appear to have a single piston and dual exhausts... what benefits in acceleration and performance do these jinluns have over the pioneers...?
@themooseOFpower for example in this video if you look at the cylinder head, its much bigger then say the pioneer, I'm assuming these 2 pistons working inside of that?
@TheXhoobx i have never worked on a pioneer nevade but as far as i know yep they are a single cylinder oppose to the jinny parallel twin cylinder i stripped and rebuilt a jinlun jl 125 engine and to be honest its not 2 bad and pretty solid but some things were a bit flimsy nothing to major there was a piece on the gear selecter rod id imagine gives people a lot of trouble and a few other bits n pieces .the single cyclinder will have less power and higher torque but not by much 11.12bhp@9,500rpm
@TheXhoobx the jinny will have a lil bit more pull but both bikes will still be first off at the traffic lights and there probably a slight bit heavier seems like the jinlun is the more popular of the two so i would go with that one becuase parts will be easier to find if thats the case .the only set backs would be doing a bit more maintinence when it comes to things like setting up your carbs and stuff but hey hey thats all fun anyway id save a few hundred and buy a honda rebel cus im tight
@themooseOFpower I want to go with these honda or suzuki VT bikes... but just cannot afford that much, its either buy a cheaper bike and insure it for a year... or buy the Honda's for more cash and waste months saving for the insurance... I prefer getting insured out right then monthly cus then I know im set for a whole year.
@TheXhoobx i meant save a few hundred as in a honda rebel is cheaper to buy than a jinlun rite now and those things go for ever as for insurance it will be cheap even for a first time rider im guessing to insure u on a 125 jinlun or honda or almost any 125 is only going to cost you within 80-120 pound for the full year maybe even cheaper if u shop about a bit . good luck with it all anyway let me know what you end up getting whatever it is i know u are going to love it .
@pyroarmy It's a Jinlun, hence saying JL-125 on the side fairing. The Regal Raptor is a DD125-E :) I woudlnt mind either, possibly getting one of these :)
@fastkartproject well the fact that the logo on the side of the tank in regal raptor is kinda stupid if it is a jinlun,,,,,,,, why dould jinlun also suport another brand thats like kawasaki having yamaha on the side it wouldnt hapen
@pyroarmy lol you had me thinking then! Yeah I can see why you thought it was a regal raptor but it's not dude, they look very similar (your probally looking at the eagle logo on the side) but trust me thats a Jinlun 125-13... if you look closley it even says JL-125-13 on the side.... both the raptors and the jinlun are good looking bikes... and if i find one for a good price I wud buy either.
I am buying a bike like this, prehaps jinlun, pioneer nevada or Kindroad... but What I wanna know is where I can get a pair or slashcut exhausts or these screamin eagles I see people with? I' quite new to bikes, so is there specific types of exhausts for these 125cc models and similar? Anybody wanna give me some freindly advice then PM Please. Nice Ride BTW :D Cant wait to get mine!
@OneProvidence 70mph for 125cc cruiser is plenty, if you have L-Plates its not like you can take it on the motorway anyway.... I'd like to see any car take corners on country roads like these then burn it back upto 70mph... still love this bike, you have made me want a jinlun indefinetly, still can't get over the sound this is making.. sound so phat for a 125, outstanding.. Do want!
@MrXhoobx Note, this was recorded on an old mobile phone with a mono microphone. In real life, its much more bassier, especially in built-up areas. The sound will reverb for miles...
100mpg on regular unleaded, but BP ultimate and shell V-power can give up to 120mpg and a lot better/cleaner performance. It normally costs like 7GBP to fill the tank and i got around 240km from it.
@OneProvidence I used V-Power on my 50cc when I was about 18 lol, I found I got more MPG, cleaner starts, especially on cold days and a noticeable acceleration increase, off the start and overtaking (lmao yes overtaking on a 50cc) so your right... I reccomend this fuel for bikes / scooters.... got me to work and back when I was skint so all around a decent fuel.
It may seem like a silly question, but what kind of fuel efficiency do you find they get? Because I'm considering getting one but would only have 30 pounds a week from EMA so want to know if I'd have enough left after fuel and insurance for other stuff. Thanks.
hello mate..im getting a 125-13 and want it to sound like that! plus your slashcuts look perfect, some dont look right, please let me know where you got them from!
hey i have this bike in black, was just wondering where you got the slashcut exhausts from?

If you bought a Honda Rebel 250 you could break the speed limit...... on the pioneer you will break a sweat pushing it out of the road

its got a top speed of 70mph. what do you expect from a 70's engine.
