Actually this song is called the foggy dew

This is different than his other version. I know there is at least 4 or 5 versions of this song, the original being "When I First Came To Court" in 1698 and another being "Foggy, Foggy Dew" another being about the easter rising "Foggy Dew" which Luke sung. THink this one has the original lyrics.

This song was on The Dubliners' original 1976 LP A Parcel of Rogues, just for those who were wondering. I think this man as pretty much unrivalled in singing ballads, actually. This is absolute magic. John Sheehan's work on this record is pretty excellent too.

I think some times its called Boogaloo and boogaloo is said instead of foggy dew in the song.

This is Foggy Dew, there are a few different versions and words that are all traditional

yes it is. this confused the living shit out of me for a goodwhile aswell. But this song was written in 1894, which was years before the rising and therefore, the other foggy dew. so yes, my friend it is....
