  • i like both of them but i like how in the Iphone HDR shot you can see outside of the window better. thats just me i guess cause when i Do HDR i don't go for higher saturation i just go for all around visibility.

  • wonderfully explained. thanks

  • Thumbs up for a cool entertaining And interesting Video

  • Damn, such a nice huy.. i will subscribe

  • Its really not that much difference between that and the built in HDR.. Obviously if you use the built in HDR and apply more contrast, it will look the same. Even in your screenshot of the controls of the app, it showed that the contrast and many other things was adjusted. Its not the Pro HDR that makes it better, its just those adjustments.

  • legit way to make extra cash online /watch?v=BMPhsRN19Ms

  • I bought the pro HDR app and highly recomend it. Works well in both high and low light situations

  • 4:40 penetration

  • An Aussie? Sweet.

  • H'DRRRRRR!

  • WTH? The two pictures you're showing are not taken from the same place, and quite likely therefore not at the same time! In fact I don't think you're making a good case for the pro app at all, since Apple's own HDR capabilities show such great capture of the light and shadows coming in from the skylights, AND show the blue of the sky outside. What does the pro app show? None of that! Yes the interior details are more balanced, but it's a very flat and undramatic photograph. I'm not sold!

  • Nice video,

    only one question.

Does it work on a iphone 3gs? or do you must have an HD camera?

  • are there any plans to make a video HDR app, ive just got the ipod touch 4th gen (miles better than the samsung galaxy S or at least better than the one i had which turned into a completly useless media phone with android 2.2 that wouldnt connect to wifi, would constanly have a slow clock, and wouldnt connect to samsung kies on windows oh and battery life was still crap, ive now gone back to an lg ku990 which seams to work a lot better) though HDR pro is an awsome app thanks once again blunty.

  • Purchased the app and used it for a week, what i can say is that it is marvellous thanks ;D

  • Hey man what happens if there's something moving between the two shots that the HDR Pro app take? does it make a blur or like a ghost image?

  • @Blunty3000

Just got a 32gb Iphone 4, and the first thing I did was download proHDR as per your heads up, and damn im bloody happy with it.

  • O can you get this app on the new iPod???

  • Nice review lol As I like to call it HD'RRRRRRRR photo

  • I m wonder about, pro HDR will work with Ipod touch 4th G ?,

  • @Derikgolf78 Oh I got know now. ONLY For iPhone 4 only!

  • yes; Pro HDR is hands down the BEST HDR app I've played with too; I love it! The built in HDR function on the iOS4 is a joke... makes the pictures look worse then standard...

by the way, I'm going to be calling it HDRRRRRRRRR from now on too, lol, thanks for that

  • Blunty, great review of the App. I have purchased it and you can TRULY take stunning photos. Could you do a review for the best panorama stitching app? Thanks from Alaska!!

  • hache dee aureee!!!

  • good review...

  • @Blunty3000 You are ALMOST as awesome as KB, but that is an unfair comparison, seeing as he was born in the Temple of awesomeness!!! haha jk great review all together, keep up the great work : )

  • The test between iPhone 4's built in HDR and Pro HDR inside this hall is falsified, in that the pictures were not taken at the same place. With Pro HDR, you're at the first floor, while you're on the second floor with the iPhone 4. Please, make a comparison at the exact same spot with both HDR's; it's not possible to judge impartially like this. I'm really interested to see a correct comparison of both. Thanks for some interesting comments however.

  • I like this guy :)

    Reminds me of Billy Mays.

    Nice review. (:

  • can i just say, all the yanks trying to knock this guys accent are forgetting the fact that this is OUR language (the ENGLISH language) so ACTUALLY it should be US taking the piss out of YOU fucking ignorant americans. good review.

  • @000TheGingerOne000 I agree. Even though I'm American, I wonder how our accents even because so altered from the standard English accent. What would even cause it to change the way it did? Why did our accent change, but yours didn't? Meh, it's whatever I suppose. Accents are just accents; they shouldn't change your view of a person or a group of people. You could say that what matters is what they say, not the accent attached to it.

  • Best explication of HDR ever!

  • Would this app work on the iPod touch 4G? Apparently it doesn't have built-in HDR so this could be useful :D

  • The dynamic lighting range of a human eye depends on if you have lazy eyelids [to remove glare from above] or openly stare like a maniac to get more glare.

An app that tones down bright light to match darker areas will make your pics look silly!

  • does it make my iphone 3g pics look better

  • MMMMMMMmanchester unity building!

  • @Blunty3000 Hey don't group him in with us.... Yank want no part of this conversation

  • Ok Blunty...you sold me and I bought an Iphone 4 16GB and this app.

    I LOVE IT!!!!

  • pro hdr is good, but apple is going to update to a better hdr eventually. key word eventually

  • @Blunty3000

    Cold much?

  • Cheers for the review. I bought this app after watching you vid and it's GREAT! I never know about HDR but I am now basking in all it's glory! Thanks mate!

  • do you know if it works for the iPod Touch 4?

  • @GhostofSparta54 Do not see any reason why it would not.

  • yay QVB is pretty

  • is that the myre building and QVB? ...or another country?

  • Interesting video buddy, I stumbled across it. =)

  • Or if u don't have an iphone u can even do this with a single raw file and one of many software apps.

  • Comment removed

  • he says HDR like HAYTCH DEE ARR.

  • i dont think the photos were fair comparison. Notice the pictures were taken at different levels of the mall. The right one is compositionally superior than the other. Even without the HDR in effect, the right photo would still look better. Secondly, notice the light casted on the golden dome on the left photo. It changes the dynamic of the photo completely as it brightened up a big party of the photo. second photo didn't have that to deal with. To me, i am not sold on the comparison.

  • @jasonckliang The app is cheap as chips (and has now been updated to compatibility with iOS4.1 so you CAN take DIRECT comparison shots unlike what I was able to do), and iOS4.1 is now publicly available. So feel free to do your own comparison shots, I have absolutely no doubt you'll find yourself agreeing with y assessment that the Pro HDR app, while slower, offers vastly superior HDR shots to the slightly hit-and-miss but still usable results of the built in HDR

  • I only figured out how I managed to not find it. I couldn't find it because I'm an idiot and I searched for it on the 3rd generation iPod Touch in the app store app instead of the program on my computer. Sorry for wasting your time like that.

  • @Shaun4karate Aaah, yes... that'd do it, seems the app store tends to not bother showing you stuff you can't use. Fair enough, at least we know you're not going insane or blind or something ;P

  • They (the pictures) look really good but its almost as if they look photoshoped some would say because the contrast is almost too surreal.

  • My Nikon D50 can do HDR by taking three very quick shots with different apertures, all automatically. Still have to process the image on my PC, though :P

  • HDR is great if done tastefully. I have seen some horrible HDR, which is basically just highly over processed images... Blegh.

  • are iphones on prepaid in au ??

  • You probably wont know the answer to this. But will the new 4th gen ipod touch include HDR technology? thanks

  • loving the idiotic comments on this video, nice video, good quality for an iphone :)

  • thanx

    this helps a lot

  • Excellent review.. Thank you... The quality way better with pro hdr.. thats all I needed to hear

  • the hell is heytch? lol Blunty you're the best aussie ever

  • What is the actual name of Pro HDR? I searched for it in the app store and didn't turn up any relevant results. It may be because I'm in the USA and that app may not be available here. let me know about this if you can.

  • @Shaun4karate It's "pro HDR" why would I spend the entire video calling it that if it wasn't its "actual name"? I even showed a screen-shot if its own icon. It took me two seconds to find a link. Hell, even the second result in Google for "pro hdr" is a link to the US app-store webpage for it. I've no clue how you managed to NOT find it actually.

  • H'DRRRRRRRRRRRRRR Photography lol

  • Why so many negative comments on this particular video?

  • "i've been blunty" you know, it's not weird your saying that. It's the most common mistake people make in presentating.. i know.. because i'm doing that same thing myself.. P annoying :P

  • the pro HDR shot looks almost fake, like an artist painted it or something

  • Comment removed

  • an HAYTCH dee arr app... lol

  • nate i would like to get to know you as a firend :)

  • I love your adjectives Blunty :)

  • the pro hdr takes it on a completely different level...haha

  • Blunty, I love that you explain things in depth so idiots like me can understand technology! Thanks haha! :)

  • I don't even HAVE an iPhone but this is a valuable review. Thanks! I'll be sharing the information with friends who do have iPhones. Poor photo quality is a big complaint from loads of people using their phones to take pictures.

  • thank you blunty for your HDR explanation you gave i didnt know what it was :D

  • Hey Blunty

Love how you explain stuff! Thanks for explaining the whole HDR thing - I never knew what those letters stood for. And now you've made it all clear to me!

    Cheers man!

    Gideon Shalwick

  • @GideonShalwick No problemmo. I'm Blunty, I explain things so even people on the internet can understand them! *heroic pose*

  • @Blunty3000 LOL re your *heroic pose*!

    Talk soon!

    Gideon Shalwick

  • i thnk i will get a iphone for xmas maybe

  • the picture on the right at 3:42 looks almost like a drawing

  • oooops!! I meant pic at 5:01 ;-)

  • The roof on the HDR image 5:10 looks too green and doesn't match the overall sepia nuance of the lower half of the image.

  • Hey Blunty,

Heh i think this is kinda weird but when ever i get a response from you it feels like I'm getting a response from a famous person, not that your not famous but you are pretty cool.

  • can i still get this app and do stuff like this if i get the new itouch with camera instead of an iphone?

  • It sounds really cool.

  • HDR is garbage anyway.

  • I just bought Pro HDR also, great app, but Steve's little announcement of built in HDR made me feel I wasted my money. But all is good now that I know the built in stuff isn't as good and I didn't waste my money. Hopefully the Pro HDR guys can use some features of iOS 4.1 to make there app take 3 shots faster and use the led flash.

  • You had me in 90 Seconds.

    Need iPhone 4 NOW!!!

  • The biggest difference in the side by side comparison photos was you took the photos from two different floors of the building, I know that's not the point but, I notice little stuff like that.

  • If you’re taking photographs as opposed to a snap shot then you should use a camera instead of a phone

  • i love images taken using a HDR camera, me being a artist, i really like the look of the images. When i bring HDR images into a program like photoshop, it adds more pop and overall makes the end result of whatever im *photoshopping* even more awesome. great review as always Nate :).

  • looks cool

  • 4.1 will have this built-in. How thought full apple!

  • Hey Nate,

In that last comment there are you suggesting that you are schizophrenic and your viewers only know Blunty but not Nate. Interesting...

  • @JoshMillerLite Schizophrenia doesn't work like that. You should do some research. And no, of course, unless you've spent significant time

In my company, none of you KNOW me. How absurd to think you can know who someone is based off of some Internet videos. Stupid.

  • @Blunty3000 We know you Blunty... You're Blunty. You love Technology... What else do i need to know?

  • Your pictures aren't really good evidence, why you may ask? Well for one, you took them on different levels + Obviously seems to be later on in the day.

  • @2PwnNewbs Feel free to do your own comparisons when iOS4.1 is released in the next couple days, it's free and the App is cheap. (Hopefully the ProHDR will have their update ready to fix the comparability problem that caused me to have to take the pictures on different days by then).

  • The 4.1 update will have HDR photography built in

  • @daivenluo Watch THEN comment please. tool.

  • Yes, the Pro HDR takes much nicer photos but Apple's built-in HDR looks more... Realistic? Yeah... that's the word.

  • @RobertsBoissiere does realism matter. what you see in paintings aren't the real image, but that doesn't make them look any less spectacular.

  • 3.40 - WOW!!!!!!! Amazing!

  • Oh Blunty. How you make me realize things that I ponder over day in and day out so easily I shall never figure out.

  • "H'DRRRRRRRR" LOL love it. my mate pissed himself laughing when you said that. thumbs up

  • Blunty why do you say

    hach-de-ar

It my be your accent but itsn't it ach-de-ar

  • @Fug118TheGreat H; eɪtʃ or Hiberno-English: heɪtʃ; named aitch or haitch, plural aitches

  • @vPJere

    so you can say it

    ach

    or hach?

  • The last photo was great.

  • Technology is Evolving . Personally i think soon there will be a way to take a picture with our minds O_o

  • @theraymaster

    Ya it's called remembering.

  • I just bought the app after this review I love it thanks!

  • blunty you remind me of a austrailian koala bear. its just that awesome dude

  • You can make HDR images in photoshop as well. A few tricks can have it done with just one image.

  • thanks for explaining HDR, heared it a few times before but never knew what's behind it : ) Even my untrained eye can see the difference, it looks beautiful!

  • The colors are way more vivid with Pro HDR! :)

  • I always thought that when you say, "I've been Blunty," you're actually saying that you've been blunt.

  • hach-dr

  • Ugh, from a photography standpoint, most actual photographers think that 98% of HDRs are overdone and done badly. It's a fad, and I really do hope it passes over soon.

  • @serfox1 sony tx7 kind of does it. it has a setting called "backlight correction HDR", and it takes two snapshots when it does it.

  • @lettucing - fangblade{dot}com/dsctx7.html

  • I don't actually have an iPhone, but I watch these videos anyway. Huh.

  • Well this is one of your better vids for a while. Always nice when you're enthusiastic and informing rather than ranting about how shit something is. Those pictures look amazing, no doubt about it.

  • Hey ;) can i have this app in my samsung omnia HD?

  • I'm glad you chose QVB to take one of those comparison shot sets. :)

    Looks nifty Blunty!

  • LOL 4:11

  • the australian way of saying "H" is awsome

  • H'DRRRRRRRRRRRRR

  • H'DRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

    lol.

  • I wonder why the hell you don't have more views/subs sometimes, because all of your content is really great, better than some of the most subscribed youtubers IMO.

  • It looks like a professional photo!

  • The cool thing is that when the ProHDR updates to 4.01, you can choose between the OS HDR, and the ProHDR. so overall, youre pictures will look better either way. i just thought i should point out the obvious

  • Blunty3000 = Chubby Colin Farrell?

  • Wow! Check that out. Basically it really makes your photos look "Professional." It's like a Professional that throws a Filter on a lens and using the correct FStop and film speed. It is Modifying, but just in a different way. Make you get all NetGeo! Love the slight push up of Saturation. When ur HDR Pro gets fixed hope you do a Montage of your pics.

  • bacon neckkk xD

  • "Heych DR" NO! its "Eych DR" :P

  • I have to admit, this app makes me wanna buy a iPhone.

  • Blunty, have you considered reviewing that star viewing app? The one where you point your Iphone or Ipad at the night sky and it tells you what star formation your looking at?

  • ur names Nate

  • I was about to say "Well warn people that iOS4.1 will have HDR included" but decided to wait for the video to end.

I think I might use Pro HDR anyway, I doubt they'll include the HDR feature for the 3GS' and I doubt it will have any blending tools. I just hate how Apple don't include stuff just because they want people to get the next model. Like iMovie, that supposedly requires a front facing camera to work (Facepalm) I have the ReelDirector alternative that I found out from you.

  • I should recommend this application to my friend who owns iphone!

I'm gonna be like, "Hey, ever heard of Pro H'DRRRRRRRR?" to my friend XD

    thanks so much Blunty!

  • H'DRRRR, HA!

  • H'DRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR......

  • Australians say H much more different then Americans. I never heard someone say H the same way as this video lol.

  • The Newest Games are in HDR computer animations

  • H'DRRRRRRRRR :P niceness!

  • Wow...I needed this when I was in Italy taking all those great photos... :P

I wish my video camera had something like this, it's a pain in the ass to get two different shots of the bright stuff and then another one of the dark stuff..

  • do you think this will be compatible for the new ipod touch with the camera?

  • @johnykonta57 Should work fine I expect.

  • @Blunty3000 dude r u dumb they have it built into iOS4.1 why would you buy and app for that. its redundant.

  • @henrikroxs Watch THEN comment dipshit.

  • @Blunty3000

Henrikroxs just got pwned by Blunty.

  • @Blunty3000 shitty comparison obv different lighting situations.

  • @Blunty3000 LOL you called him a Dipshit. LOL

  • HAHA HDRRrrr cracked me up

  • is new iso 4.2 think is for i pad

  • All of the pictures by PRO hdr look golden

  • H'DRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!

  • Great pics there, and very good commentary thank you.

  • HatshDR ;)
