What are the difference between this an diamond? My friend has a 0.3carat diamond ring and a 0.5 carat moissanite pendant and the mousanite looks like a fake diamond :S
@JUNAID187 Then I would say that your friend probably has a poorly cut diamond. A well cut stone will be cut to exacting proportions, and will maximize the amount of scintillation and fire, which reaches your eyes. Diamonds, especially of that size, would be virtually indistinguishable from their moissanite counterparts, of equal size.
@khernandez1024 I had the stone set in a two tone, six prong, Stuller Solstice setting. It's a pretty fair replication of the classic Tiffany solitaire.
BetterThan Diamonds sells Amora or Mira, can't remember which one, and the color is H, I believe, so if you don't want a stone with funny colors in certain lights, theirs' is not supposed to do that. Next year hopefully, they are coming out with Hearts & Arrows round brilliant and cushion cuts, they hope. Charles & Colvert (spelling?) has a patent & they are trying to be able to sell them in the US. Not a shill, but a customer of their's & very happy with their CZ.Check them out if you want.
@ProudKansan08 I'll probably pick up an Amora for my next purchase! My current stone looks fab as a solitaire, but I wouldn't put it in a ring next to other diamonds. On it's own, you can't really tell that it holds some color (very little, considering its size), but in a semi mounting with other diamonds, or next to a diamond wedding band, the color difference is easily apparent.
I think I'm going to hold out for a H&A Mira, though I don't know if my husband will let! :)
@yafashelli, if I could afford it, I might get rid of my moissanite snobbery and prejudice and get one. I've seen BTD's video of it, and it looks BEAUTIFUL!!! I might have to relent, but like you, my husband might kind of scoff about the price. I think the photos of the MIRA RB, Square Cut and Cushion looks kind of fake, especially the Square Cut stone which, I guess resembles the Princess, but it looks like a VERY poor substitute for their Asha Princess cut. MHO!!
@ProudKansan08 It's very difficult to capture the life and beauty of a stone in photography. BTD is reportedly meticulous in quality control, and if something slips through the cracks, they're even more meticulous in solving the problem. Have you been to the BTD forum? There are lots of excellent resources that can help break through that "snobbery", as you so eloquently put it.
@ yenvoong Yes, and I registered the stone as well. I have a background in diamonds, and have tested the stone. It was a phenomenal deal, and I'm very pleased.
This is beautiful! I have a 9mm (3ct equiv.)enhanced moissanite & it sparkles like the dickens too! But yours seems a bit less tinted than mine..? Maybe it was just the lighting conditions..?
OMIGOSH IT'S SO SPARKLY!!! Breathtaking. Thank you so, so much for posting this. Photos just don't do this gem justice. I am definitely going with moissanite.
@daniellemariedodson Yes, that's absolutely correct! When I first put the ring on my finger, I immediately thought that it was riduculousy huge. After a week or so, shrinkage set in, and it's now juuuust the right size. The only thing that I might do differently, is that I'd choose a thicker shank/matching band.
@77mamacass That's exactly why I put them up. It took me over a year to finally take the plunge because the videos offered were few and far between. Those few that did exist were pretty hard to see. I put these up for the express purpose of helping someone else out.
These stones can vary widely in quality though, so choose your vendor carefully, and only buy if there is a decent return policy. If you ever have any questions, you can always drop me a comment. :)

@JUNAID187 it's all about the cut my friend, you can have a 3 carat diamond but if it's not cut right it won't breath fire.

This stone is great. Can you tell me what kind of setting you had the stone in?
