funny, i was about to buy lionfishes, from thatpetplace, two weeks ago. i'm glad i didn't, otherwise i'll be getting the wrong specie. this fish is a russell's lionfish and not a volitan. the volitan's chin has stripe markings like the rest of the body. the russell's don't. the volitan's rear dorsal, caudal, and anal fins have black spots all over. the russel's don't. some russell's may have a few spots but not enough to cover the whole fin. volitan have short face, russell's have long face.
ok forthefishes, ive seen your same exact comment everywhere, not only that, but these are EVASIVE SPECIES. they should not be in american waters, but they are and are killing everything else. I understand your little attempt to "save the reefs" but atleast know something about the fish your trying to save, or which videos you are copy and pasting to. NOTE TO ANYONE WHO IS INTERESTED IN THESE FISH: GO CRAZY GET TWO WILD CAUGHT ONES IF YOU WANT TO SAVE THE FISH, GET 2 FORTHEFISHES
your information is slightly skewed as most reef tanks salinity is kept at 1.024 to 1.026 and most reefs have these fish in it and they are thriving but according to your video they should be un happy.
help! I'm thinking of getting an azoo palm filter! I'm thinking of putting one in an 1.5 gallon tank with my male betta. or one in an 2.5 gallon tank with 2 goldfish. or, should i put one in both! Please reply back or comment on my channel!
yeah is true uisfor i live in Puerto Rico and there presence have been reported on the east side near Icaco island since 2002&04 but at that time there wasn't enough but now they becoming a menace to the ecosystem of Puerto Rico and Cuba to
Hey... Great to see 'That Fish Place' on YouTube! I've been a customer for at least TEN YEARS and have turned on at least 10 of my friends & family to their great prices and service. I even tell strangers about TFP while I am at my local fish supply store. I only buy feeder fish, frozen food and aquarium fish from my store! Rock on...!!!

Not cool. Coral reefs are being decimated by fish collecting for aquariums!
I've lived in Hawaii over 20 years and haven't seen one yet, except in a tank.
Cruel. Fish live much longer on the reef.

i have a black lionfish and he is great!!
but we think he's a black lionfish, and i think he is, but we asked the guy what breed and he said it could be either a black or voliton.

True but not deadly. Just painful. Sink in hot water for 30 minutes and it will lessen and eventually clear up
