UCLA Film School is a fine learning institution. Film Connection is too. The biggest difference is in the method of learning. UCLA follows the traditional classroom method with multiple students per class. Film Connection is private, one-on-one instruction from a mentor. Film Connection's new Learn in Los Angeles Graduate program also sets up a pitch session with people in the industry who can fund your film. Finally, Film Connection is a six month program.
I don't think you are going to the Recording Connection. It's only a six month course and costs $7750, so saying you're in your 16th month and $50,000 in the hole makes no sense. Are you sure you are going to Recording Connection and not the Los Angeles Recording School...two different institutions

The only way to really learn a craft like filmmaking. The importance of a mentor in learning filmmaking is very high. One on one instruction from a working professional instead of a crowded classroom...great way to learn. you know the old saying, those that can, do. those that can't, teach.
