  • if you had a two piece scope mount your shells would eject i think the problem is they hit the rail under your scope

  • @fearnofish5 My bolt action rifles with one-piece mounts will throw brass regardless of how slow I pull the bolt back. This Savage, however, doesn't. I don't remember now... maybe if I jerked the bolt back hard it would have flung the spent hull out of the receiver like a semi-auto does, but I don't typically bang my bolt guns around like that. You are right, the one piece does interfere. It gives Savage something to improve on newer versions.

  • @dwebb210 There's no way for improvement, the reason it works on your rifles is because they are trying to eject a 12 gauge, just buy 2 piece mounts and it will be fixed.

  • @fearnofish5 I should add to my reply: It seems more like a weak ejector. If the bolt on the savage is pulled back slowly, I believe I remember that the extractor just lets go of the rim and the shell doesn't even touch the scope mount. I wish I still had it only to take a video as the bolt was being pulled back. Sorry.

  • Post a video of dixie's newest slugs, their 870gr 3" slugs. I'm Goin hog hunting and I wanna make sure that round will be good enough to stop even the biggest pig if it were to charge.

  • @drewnickel I've read accounts of the 12ga Terminator passing clean through a whitetail, lengthwise and crosswise. I can't imagine it not doing the same to the biggest wild bore. The Terminator was specifically designed for Alaskan dangerous animals, ie bear. Using the IXL-DGS on pig is like using a howitzer to swat a fly. In fact, I'd probably lean towards their Tri-Ball. You will still get fantastic penetration, but 3x the opportunity to hit a vital organ.

  • Holy smokes, 730 gr rounds, what do you hunt with those, dragons?

  • the guys at the back hahaha

  • On another forum, they showed the result of these on a Grizzly on close range as well as a soft point .375 HH , the minimal needed for elephant hunting. The 375 penetrated an inch more then the dixie at 30 inches compared to 29, but the Dixie did a lot more damage. Wouldn't go hunting with them, at short range I'm sure they are mean as can be

  • yea my gun we took the bar right above the chamber and replaced it with two seperate mounts and it ejects fine now

  • do u have problems with your shells ejecting

  • Yes. The shell would extract okay, but then it would just lay under the scope. I finally traded it in because of that.

  • Just wanted to say great posture for not being a huge guy with a pretty big gun. I work with Randy Melvin at Bull Mountain Rifles and he has some huge guns i get to shoot, 338 Lapua, 416 Rigby, 375 H&H, and alot more. i am not very big either so its just alot of fun to make that much power your bitch! Keep Gittin-R-Done!

  • i got that gun and i shoot winchester xp3 and they are 2100 fps

  • Dude that thing fucking roared at the end. Fucking A man!

  • Killer gun! I just discovered these existed and I'm in love.

  • Savage just released the 210f in 20 gauge this year!

  • are these slugs expensive? and do you think they would do well in a mossberg 500 persuader 12ga 18.5 barrel smooth bore ,,, for grizzly bear protection???

  • They aren't cheap. But they would function fine out of your Mossberg.

  • @drewnickel

The Brenneke are "more powerful" than a Dixie slug?? You've got to be kidding. You need to do some more homework buddy. I know Brennekes are good but there's nothing that touches the Dixies!

The Dixie Terminators are the exact same slug the British used to hunt Cape Buffalo, Rhino, etc in Africa and now Dixie has a D.G.S. slug that's badder than that one with more than 800 grains of really hard lead!!

  • @1973Saved that was my brother that posted that, I actually know this because of several things. plus I know that because there's now way that a 610gr slug could compare to an 800gr slug.

  • @1973Saved he said that because of energy, they produce alot more energy, but the dixie slugs have nothing but knockdown power. I'm planning on building a 12ga fh on a single shot h&r heavy barreled super slugger and firing it with 3-1/2" brass cases with 185gr of powder at 2500fps with a 750gr slug. that would most likely beat any normal 12ga.

  • @zombieknifenut get a 28.5" with a cylinder bore, you'll get 1400fps instead of 1200fps. or even in a 24" barrel you'll get 1300fps. in a 30" you CAN get 1450fps but it's not reccommended to shoot that slug through a full choke barrel

  • The Dixie Slug is a modern rendition of the old Paradox load the British used worldwide around the 1900's. The British black powder load was a 730 grain bullet at 1000 fps and the cordite load was the same bullet at 1200 fps. Dixie Slugs is a licenced ammo manufacturer that produces factory loaded ammo duplicating the original performance.

The heaviest loads I've shot in my Savage is the Sappington 880 grain slugs at 1440 fps and the Sappington "Bear Buster" 1043 grain slug at 1080 fps.

  • oh and um xsun2......you dont know shit about guns.

  • my 210 is the black model and i have a new found respect for this gun, ive taken two deer with it and they went down like they were hit by a scud missle. first deer was at 110 yds and the sabot wasnt even breathin hard. second was at 40 yds. distance traveled by both deer....zero yds.

  • ummm.... that IS a 12ga.

  • You failed to notice that I was the one who posted the video. You also failed to notice the "About this video" section, where I describe what the firearm is and what ammo I am using. Since I own the firearm, I think I know what it is. Educate yourself and get YOUR guns straight. Google "Savage Arms Rifle Shotguns Model 210F Camo Slug Warrior", and follow the first link.

  • Thats just madness. I love it.

  • Ha. Good old "magnum eye" Don't you just love it? The closest I ever came to drawing blood was with my Tikka T3 in 30-06 with 220 grain loads. I ended up with a small bruise. Thankfully that was it. btw, where did you find such peppered up loads for the 12 ga? The heaviest I've shot yet (which is also the heaviest I've found yet) is 485 gr. wb

  • Try the federal loads I am shooting in my vid

  • No wonder my shoulder hurts after shooting my 12ga.

  • Yea, 2335 foot pounds of muzzle energy in an 8-pound gun combined with a terrible shooting stance. I took the video after adding 5 pounds of lead shot to the hollow stock to see if it improved anything, because twice before the scope drew blood. I ended up switching from the Nikon scope you see in the video to a longer eye relief Burris scope. Problem solved.
