There've been a TON of revisions to this song. The Broadway is different than the movie, different than the original (the current Broadway anyway) and the very first drafts were drastically different. Basically, depending on where you see it the lyrics change every so slightly.

It was the movie that made Christine 16, it never gives her age in the book... and before the 2004 movie, I believe the general assumption was that she was 19-20ish. They changed quite a few things in the movie to explain Emmy Christine's age.

I was in your situation, untangomas. I had heard of the play, but saw no clips and videos, just the movie. Of course, only seeing it, I thought the movie was best. I was totally wrong. Now I TOTALLY love the play 100% more. I'm actually finally seeing it! For the first time in my life in Vegas! I'd prefer to see it on Broadway or London, but this is second best.

Upset that they shorten the songs and change a few parts, but I'm very happy.

i have to admit the movie was the first version of POTO i heard. i didn't have anything to compare it with & i LOVED it (still do but maybe not as much...)!!! now, after watching clips from the musical i do realise how much better these people are!!!

still, even before seeing this "think of me" i HATED the fact that emmy didn't move a muscle (exept her lips ;-) ) during this song!!!! beth's performance i find BRILLIANT , singing and actig!!! she's lovely!!!
