I rather see romanian couples dressed in romanian costumes dancing together with hungarians to hungarian dance, than to see them fight eachother. I like this video.
This is the group from Mociu near Cluj. The group has "Romanian" and "Hungarian" dancers, if I recognise correctly there is one Hungarian couple in this video. As with most villages in this area, the tunning dance is identical to both identities and is not exlusive to either ethnicity.
There is nothing Hungarian about the costume...It is from the Northern part of Mezoseg or even Nagy-Szamos volgye in Transylvania. Hungarians' costumes are not even similar to this...
Where is this from? Sounds like Eszak-Mezoseg, the Bethlen area, at least the second melody is typical. Does anyone have any more specific info on this video?
Any folk dancer/student of traditional dance knows that old people are THE models. Interesting that these folks appear to be Romanian. What specific Transylvanian village is this, I wonder.

I agree, there is nothing Hungarian about the costumes. They are definitely Romanian.
However, the dance is ethnically Hungarian - mesosegi!!

This is a very strange video.
The people in this are wearing the Hungarian folk costume while dancing a typicaly Romanian dance... This must be Transilvania :)
