I'm as much of a fan of Stoupe as the next man, but can someone please talk a bit about Mathilde Santing? IMO, this is SICK, forget about who sampled it...
I had this on a cassette which I got from the now defunct 'Sounds' music paper. This was, for me, the standout track. Alas, the tape bit the dust a long time ago, but thanks to the miracle of youtube, here is that wonderful voice, in crystal clear digital earvision. Thanks, youtube, I think I love you.
back in 2000 when VBD first came out, i was the first mant o find this damn smaple. I'm even more amazed by the original than than the JMT song (and thats saying ALOT. You need a different type of mind to compose a melody like this!
I love how the songs that underground artists sample are mentioned by the majority that on the vid of the sampled song that it was sampled by the underground
btw, the name of the track comes from the move 'the deer hunter" which is a masterpiece
for sure, "Deer Hunter" is a totally masterpiece, the scene with De Niro and Christopher Walken at the Vietnam Cell (or whatever) is so sick ("MAO" if you know what i mean). great movie, great track by jedi mind tricks and of course one of the best samples ever, fits in perfectly with those lyrics..........
for real, Stoupe did a great job on that beat. I also posted the original sample for the Retaliation Remix, check out Susana Baca - De Los Amores, another beautiful song he sampled for Violent By Design
Ill, I'm gonna check it out. On the topic of Stoupe, somewhere I saw that he has released a first volume of his instrumentals - do you know if this is true? If so, where can I cop it!? Thanks again for this sick upload.
I heard so too, i actually found some bootleg cds once on ebay, containing instrumentals from The Psycho-Social, Chemical, Biological, And Electro-Magnetic Manipulation Of Human Consciousness till the Violent By Design album.
A friend of mine bought one of those and told me it were just a couple of instrumentals from those two albums looped pretty bad by some amateur dj(s)/whatever, so its not worthy to buy that if ya gon find it anywhere.
Ah, that must be the edition I saw. True, it looked sketchy and bootlegged as hell - that's why I hesitated to ask you. Thanks man. Hopefully an official JMT endorsed Stoupe mixtape or solo is released soon.
OMG, the lyrics are amazing too...

stoupe is my jesus.
with that being said, am i the only one that thinks this song is insanely perfect?
in fact, its become my favorite song of all time.
the reason stoupe ended up calling this track 'deer hunter' is because of how closely the lyrics resemble the movie.
genius. this song is fucking genius. stoupe is genius for the beat he ended up making with this.
god i love good music.
