  • baby if being dead means that i will be a star, i dont wanna be that far from you, baby stay close to me, i wanna shine with you.

  • so sad he's gone live on the legend ( BEALTLES)

  • Music like this is why people need to stop bashing Yoko Ono for "breaking up The Beatles." I love The Beatles but Lennon was at his best musically with Yoko. He grew so much as an artist-- just listen to his material right before he died; it didn't get much better than that.

  • @SufferinJuly Yoko was not convalescing from double cataract surgery. She was an avant-garde, conceptual and performance artist. This was her part in the song's performance..

  • B.P. Fallon on the bass there.

  • ONO SHOULD HAVE PUT A BAG OVER HER HEAD. :-)

  • What An Electric Voice. Pure Genius.

  • @born912 shine on you on

  • After enduring numerous, crummy uploads of this awesome song on YT, I'd have to say yours is *the BEST*, Beatleboy JD. As far as Yoko Ono's presence: Lennon insisted she be there (he was her HUSBAND, after all); the blindfold was likely employed to shield her from having to see all of the unrelenting, hateful eyes in the audience. Thanks, again, BBJD: *BRILLIANT* sound upload and fade…!

  • Yoko was convalescing from double cataract surgery.

  • this inspired Stephen King to write The Shining

  • @cdutta1990 REALLY?

  • This the one I've been talktin ' about!

  • Is Yoko making a BIG statement or what? LIke "yeah, I'll sit here blindly crocheting having no opinions on everything." NOT

  • i hate the beatles i find thay are the most overrated band in history but you gotta love john lennon hes just fucking awesome

  • is there a reason Yoko is blindfolded besides for attention?

John was just that good and had enough guts to not care what the world thought- he always made music that was true even if the truth wasn't pleasant.

  • @QueenBeatlesWings She's making a major statement...

In my opinion she is... LIke she's just a non seeing, non speaking entity that will crochet her days away like JOhn's fans wanted her to do.... I guess she's saying "if this is what you fans want, it ain't gonna happen..'cause I'm here and I'm going no where!"

  • no disrespect , I love John Lennon, but what the fuck is Yoko doing on that stage?

  • Mal Evans is playing tambourine

  • i know one thing I love my pit

  • Yoko was a DOG!!!

  • Such a great record. Impressive to learn that it was done in a day!

Yoko detractors: I can't even knit WITHOUT a blindfold. Gotta give her some credit there.

  • 'Mwhaha look at my knitting skills!' did the woman have nothing better to do whilst sitting there during the recording of one of the most beautiful songs ever done?

By the way John Lennon looks paticularly dashing in this :D

  • I'm sorry, Yoko is annoying.

  • Great video-thank you for sharing!

  • Yoko was perfect on this video. Great metaphore:" The blind leading the blind "

Great song. John Lennon was a great musician. Sorry that he had to go so early in his life. He was a brilliant man and he was a friend of George Harrison who was more evolved as a spirit soul.

  • She was just so annoying. He would have been better without her. He had so much unmeasureable talent.

  • @samara712 by she do you mean yoko?

  • haaaha wtfs up with yoko knitting with a blindfold??????

  • he lost his voice in the end

    but he's the best ever

  • Yoko, what an attention whore.

    She broke them.

  • i know it all yoko onos fault the beatles broke up if she hadnt come into johns life they could have still been together as a band and still alive today

  • @Blue21Films ...it's over, get over it : [

  • Very good vibes... Fantastic ! GREAT song ! :-)

  • lol

    yoko in the background.

  • acting a fool

  • Is she micing her knitting??

  • I thinks it's cool how Yoko is in on stage just nonchalantly knitting away, while the music is playing. It also shows how fucking cool John was that Yoko could be taking a crap on stag and he's OK with it; just so long as they're together. Some artists are so overly concerned with onstage appearances and have to have thing so "sanitized" that it just takes the joy out of the music. It's great to see such raw life performances, although this appears to be just a rehersal.

  • i sure wish yoko would stop being so dumb and appreciate the rock and roll for once.

  • we miss you john lennon

    your the best artist

  • fuckin' Klaus on bass, Mal on tamborine, and holy shit is that Alan White on drums? Fuckin' fantastic.

  • I know is his wife. I think she is weird don't you think? sheis knittng wtfk she was thinking

  • I love this song, but i don't like the woman in the back

  • The woman is Yoko Ono- John's wife.

  • Comment removed

  • ?? Um, that's not Ringo on the drums.

  • Where my brain was that day, I dunno. Here's to the talented Alan White. Thanx 4 the head's up.

  • Love this song.

  • and I really like John's haircut in this video :) <3

  • At 1:21, can someone confirm that Mal Evans (the Beatles former roadie) is playing the tambourine? I'm almost positive it's him!

  • Yeah thats him

And I think theres a man name Klaus Voorman in there

He was a friend of the Beatles since their Hamburg days

  • Good ol' Klaus Voorman--he designed the Revolver album cover!

  • isn't Klaus Voorman the bass player?

  • Yeah one of them

    I cant really recognize him

Probably the one with the beard

  • @BeatleboyJd klaus is a very close friend to all the beatles! i saw it in the george harrison documentry by Martin Scorsese! he plays bass too

  • Yeah that's Mal alright. He did a lot of cool stuff. He's playing the bass drum at the end of Yello Sub(and singing boldly)....The anvil on Maxwells Silver Hammer. He was like the Beatles sound FX guy! Shame about his demise.

  • @BeatleKnight . That's definately Mal.

  • @BeatleKnight . That's definately Mal. And Klaus Voorman.

  • it's just a song bro....lighten up.

  • Yeah, but John using the same descending three chords in every song (All You Need Is Love, Mind Games, Lucy, this one) and his screaming/preaching of the 70's still gets pretty tiresome after awhile

  • Interesting observation about the 3 descendos oh Steve. Are there more?

  • Yeah- he tended to say a lot of nasty things about McCartney, Jagger, Dylan, or anybody else who had more elastic talent than him. Luckily it was all written off as part of his "genius" (most people just call it being an asshole).

  • amazing song!

  • wtf is yoko doing

  • It looks like she's knitting... blindfolded. WTF!?

  • John: SOOOO COOL!!!

    Yoko: NOT COOL!!!

  • ^-^ I know right....

  • you don't know her. she is a performance artist.

  • I'm teary eyed now. Thanks for sharing. Hahaha..didn't notice Mal Evans playing the tamborine! Great song by a great musician.

  • one of my John Lennon song thank for put in on here

  • excellent ;)

  • Awesome video!

  • i like this song!! thank you!!

  • hello my new friend love to see john my fave beatle love the other beatles are great too but john is top fave of mine may he RIP 5 big stars for this video

  • i love the drums in this song, they would be better if ringo played them

  • wtf yoko

lova ya john and we miss you

     PEACE&LOVE

  • Great clip of John, could do without Yoko but par for the course. Phil Spector was a bitch to work with along with his insecurites beyond himself but was great producer. He and John had a fallout due to Phil's drinking in 1972 and John called it quits with him in the middle of sessions.Great post dude, thanx

  • Mal Evans playing tambourine! Awesome.

  • Ouh! He is beautiful! =P

I love his voice! Great song! :)

  • a great song by john

  • kool!!!

  • Thank you. This is a cool classic Lennon song. I never get tired of hearing him sing. John, RIP. His solo career after the breakup of The Beatles is amazing. Thanks for the interesting trivia about the song, too.

    5 *****....we all shine on!!!

    ~peace~

  • love this song, johns voice is raw emotion, klaus voorman, played on most of johns stuff. johns the greatest. RIP my friend.

  • Love it! Well, I could do without Yoko and the kotex.

  • great video recording...and fantastic music recording, too, of lennon's 'instant karma'...super post by 'Beatleboyjd'

    5 stars*****

  • ins't karmas gona get you jd lol

  • what's the point of the bass player?

  • Is Yoko knitting blindfolded in the background? What the fuck?

  • Made a mistake on the video

I accidentally put in 'The Beatles - Instant Karma' instead of John

  • Incredible! I have this song on a John Lennon compilation album.
