i think you should get your first leg higher first.. like in a Bkick.. when you feel that u cant ge higher on the jump the spin helping with arms n head.. ull see is more easy n clean
I've noticed your dip slows down drastically mid-way through. This messes up your momentum. Do not be afraid to push that dip through to the very end.
After 2.5 years of trying to improve my butterfly twist, I have discovered a shocking (for me) bit of information: If you want a better butterfly twist, don't focus on the spin at all! Throw all your momentum as if you're doing a butterfly kick (which should be perfected first), then AFTER your feet have left the ground, simply let yourself spin.
Watch my butterfly kick and butterfly twist videos, I've got a HUGE bunch of tips in the description, the most helpful of which I've just given you.
1) Get a good butterfly Kick first. It'll help alot. Then, really wrap your arms and stay tight. Right now, your just kind of jump and hoping for the best. Remember, butterfly first, then twist.
Yep, the run for the twist (and butterfly) takes some practice and getting used. It's all about transferring momentum and weight distribution between the legs leading up to the block upwards. Nelson needs to be careful not to throw that momentum too much forward though because it'll kill the upwards jump. Thanks!

yeah, push off more for height.... your pushing off too soon which wont get you high enough off the ground giving you less time to twist

the biggest problem is your both arms,, keep the close to your body , never never open your arms. good luck!!
mryoda 3 years ago
Thanks for your advice. I agree, the arms are not tight with the body which slows down the rotation and control in the air.

Get that back leg up like in a bkick and commit to the twist!
Niroshine 3 years ago
Yea, when getting the feel for the twist, a lot of people will tend to rush the twist, sacrificing height of the jump.
