Saw something similar in my yard today. It appears there were two dead (or near dead) baby squirrels in my yard (probably my dog was responsible). I watched an adult (probably momma) come and carry each one away. If they weren't dead, they were near dead. I found this video by trying to learn more about the odd behaviour.
What you've got there is a few week old baby calling for help, and it's mother coming and taking it back to the nest. Fairly common behavior for them, but bravo for catching it on film.
that wasn't a hero that was a mother. That what Mothers do.

squirrel mothers are very careful mothers.and this is also the reason to wait before you pick up a squirrel who jumped out of the nest.
