  • bel ritmo!!!

  • Wonderful!!!

  • I've always loved his version of this song!

  • Cara! ele toca demais.

  • Fantastic song - just wonderful!

  • Priceless! To really appreciate him, you must see him in concert.

  • Clavinet bringing the groove down :(

  • Wooohoo i didnt know Eddie Murphy could play guitar ? Awesome :)

  • a cowbell would make one deadly combination with that clavinet...destroys worlds

  • It seems that John Petrucci is pretty skillful keyboardist too

  • OMG, That face 0:15 - 0:18 Love that face

  • Wow.

  • If

  • That's the smallest guitar I've ever seen him with.

  • God, that feels good

  • you are a god. the best guitarist of all time. ubi

  • If you think about it, all musicians are thieves to some extent. Even if you don't intend for something you created to sound like something by another artist, you can bet your ass someone out there has created something already that sounds very similar. I enjoy hip-hop music (not modern-day rap) and I say that as long as they credit the artist they sampled from, there's no harm done. Other musicians cover other artists' tunes all the time to pay tribute...so what's the difference?

  • Thanks for showing me that I'm a piece of shit playing the guitar...

  • @SnoopyInTheBox yo box....lol. man, i got a good laugh..thanks. lol. ive been playin 40 years, mostly blues cause its harder to get lost.. and im a piece of shyt too..lol. have a great day snoopy

  • The boys are back in town WOW!!!! the the funky music black man...

  • Is that Harvey Mason on drums?

  • A very young Bill Bailey on keys...

  • @MrLittlegate

Actually, that's the great, late Argentinian pianist Jorge Dalto. Check out this video for proof: Tito Puente Live at the Montreux tune 1

He regularly played with some of New York's finest in the 70's and 80's until his untimely death...

  • If you can music like this then you have the right to wear whatever you want and look cool...loved it!!

  • I KNEW Nujabes sampled this! Love it love it LOVE it. :D

  • new favorite song

  • NO FUCKIN WAY!

  • Tight and dressed

  • good jazz music, reminds me when i was in the navy back in san diego,ca listening to 98.1 smooth jazz.

  • @roscoe496

this is not "smooth jazz", . . this stuff kicks ass (1978 ?).

    These guys can play.

When "smooth jazz" came along, around 1988 I think,

it was for the most part, lame.

  • Nujabes is a thief...Don't ever compare!

  • @VeritableVex Nujabes is not a thief. He is a GENIUS. hip-hop artists sample to pay tribute to songs they enjoy, not to steal and destroy them (most of the time lol). hip-hop sampling keeps old hits alive and makes audiences want to know "what song they sampled" and we therefore discover the original material. It's a lovely cycle. I personally owe a lot to Nujabes, J Dilla, and Kanye West.

  • @VeritableVex Then in your mind, George Benson is a thief too? The original was by Jose Feliciano. I don't think of Nujabes or Benson as thieves. I think of them as geniuses, using such a powerful piece and mixing in their own respective styles to create unique music. All of them should be appreciated in my opinion.

  • @Imtiaz061989 Amen and it's not because i had a huge crush on george.

  • Nujabes is a thief

  • @VeritableVex You obviously didnt realize that George is a thief too then right since the song was wrote by Jose Feliciano.

  • can u feel it? i bet u cant. only george benson can.

  • Looks like Bill Bailey on the left keyboard.

  • He's a BAD MUTHAFUCKA!

  • NUJABES!!!!!

  • perfect

  • Classic Rhodes sound on the keyboard. Just great! I like his band.

  • This kills me .. Who is on drum???

  • Agree. That is Harvey Mason. This is the same exact band from the Breezin era, except that Ralph McDonald (percussion) and Phil Upchurch (guitar) are missing. A wonderful video.

  • no brother, the drummer is HARVEY MASON, the king of funky music!

  • Soul, the audience doesn't have it.

  • wait... CARL WEATHER PLAYED DRUMS FOR GB?!?!?! you the man Apollo Creed. (Salutes)

  • style of the music is jazz funk, but I think the keyboard sound is what you are after...It's on a Fender Rhodes

10-15 years ago you could probably pick one up for £50 you certainly could'nt now! (and rightly so...)

  • @zxrrr That's a Fender Rhodes, so it is a E-Piano ! oowww.. i was right, but not 100% , the instrument is actually a "Electro-Piano" and yeah i know that's Jazz Funk. Thanks for your Help man !

  • Look at the audience just standing there like robots

  • @vintageb8

Er, presumably these are Germans who couldn't get a ticket for Bayreuth, so they just dropped in at Musik Laden.

  • @vintageb8 Ive seen george live myself and i stood there like a robot, i was mesmerized by his playing.

  • This guy is oozing with smoothness all over

  • @vintageb8 Hell Yeah. You gotta have have some cool to pull off the white suit and not even look out of place.

  • @blakmagik4

Not just a white suit, but with a bare chest showing! This man had style on so many levels from his guitar to his wardrobes.

  • Ladies and gentlemen, the birth of neo soul!

  • Listening to this, and Nujabes remix.

I love the truly talented musicians who loved music for music, and not for the money like today's pop scene.

  • This some funky syncopated shit right up in here! So refreshing to hear no F$%ing auto-tune rap shit no GaGa, Bieber, Kanye shit! Oops looks like 25 of their fans were here and couldn't fathom George's awesomeness! Whoopdi, so I'm an angry man who want's the old days back...and what! Lol

  • George was awesome in the 70s. he had reached his peak. inflight, breezin , weekend in LA all great albums. His last best album was give me the night produced by quincy jones.

  • Very sad that George Dalto died from cancer at only 38 years old !

  • who is the keyboarder?

  • @basgalgemba Jorge Dalto

  • Groove Groove Groove

  • I bet the keyboard guy is French:)

  • George Benson, Prince, Larry Graham, Celine Dion....so many more....amazing

  • @stoneislandrecords

you are putting Celine Dion on the level of the king George Benson ????????

  • This song while making homework.

    LEGENDARY.

  • He makes it look so easy but if you've ever played that kind of Jazz guitar you know there is absolutely no sustain so you need to fill those gaps with those little runs and his muscality is astounding - I can hear Django Rheinhardt in there... and the stuff he does with the octaves and chord soloing is awesome... I can't think of anyone else who can do that... and he can sing!

  • A-wesome!

  • This tune flows like water in a stream. Love to see George play!

  • God is alive!! :-)))

  • Name of the DVD please?

  • magia e musica

  • @retwdee....Stanley Banks on Bass and Jorge Dalto on piano...Stanley's still with him...

  • A Maestro playing another Maestro´s (Jose Feliciano) composition. Benson has a unique place among contemporary jazz performers. I had the chance to see him live in Monterrey 1992. Just incredible show....long live George!

  • Sweet!!

  • 25 people are completely deaf.

  • I remember being at the Fantasia music store near UTA hearing his music for the first time in the mid '70's.... became a big star. Had to have his records. Wonderful sound.

  • OMG It's really cool!

  • AND THE BEST IS?? MR GEORGE BENSON. GREAT.

  • My favorite GB tune . . . reminds me of my college years spent in Pittsburgh, seeing Benson perform with Walt Harper on piano at spots around town, going home to Philly and playing my autographed LP's for my friends . . . those were some musically-inspired days! Love that music.

  • What is wrong with the stiffs in the audience..? I mean, you'd just gotta move to this groove!!

  • The way you touched up the video here is amazing. I couldn't tell how old it unless I looked at the clothing!

  • If you don't own "BREEZIN" , get it. Classic album with this great bunch of musicians shown here. This album has 6 songs with the FIRST TAKE picked on 5 of them. Think about THAT !! Guys spend months on an album today, to get it "perfect" and these guys wrapped it up in a few days.

  • I think I'm gonna go burn my guitar. No point.

  • george benson should be on guitar hero

  • Guitar should have been louder! Other than that, smooth playing

  • @AllBluesCat nahh its smooth jazz

  • Ahh, graceful indeed

  • O: CAN IT BE!? George actually giving SOMEONE ELSE a solo!? wooooww!!

  • Whose the bear on keys?

  • crowd blows

  • Imagine to ''take five'' while its ''breezin' '' then take a stroll ''on broadway'' then you'll get your ''affirmation'' ....yeah... love this instrumental

  • NUJABES SAMPLED OFF OF THIS!!! R.I.B NUJABES

  • @PDEXTER123 And Benson sampled off Jose Feliciano. It's samples all the way down!

  • @pretzalman HA THats so true!!!

  • @PDEXTER123 No sorry.... Nujabes sampled the original Vinyl version By the original composer of "Affirmation".... JOSE FELICIANO.

He don't get nothing of the benson version... ;)

  • This is George before he went out and bought himself a replica of LaToya Jackson's nose...

  • Only a Benson is good enough...

  • is this harvey on the drums?

  • @leroyprc This drummer is Denny Davis. He's good but sure doesn't groove like Harvey.

  • still counting stars..

  • NO BETTER MELODIC/SPEED PLAYERS THAN GB.....IN 2 WORDS ,BAD BENSON!! AND HE HAS FUN DOIN IT!!

  • the mechanism was clear for George this night. wow.

  • anyone know who the drummer for this song was?

  • the white guy on keys/synth, this is him at his peak

  • from the GREATEST JAZZ ALBUM of all time. Breezin. Yes, and I still play it EVERY DAY. Makes me feel good.

  • Oh to be 19 again at the University of Alabama, with the pic of the litter, and this song playing...

  • oh my god....

  • One of my all time favs, GB your the best. My 1st Date, with my now Wife was seeing you at the Circle Star in Redwood City. Got all your VYNAL albums. Thats going back a while, but I remember it like it was yesturday, Thank You for a life time of enjoyment. All you 25 dislikes, you are messed up. Stick to your RAP crap.

  • That guitar strap alone must be worth millions now... but George's own personal quality, that's PRICELESS :o)

  • One time, my mother ( who usually bought well-meaning but not-wanted gifts ) came in with this album..." you like guitars , don't you ?" ( I was a Queen fan ),,,,, I reluctantly took this CD from her...played it... and for the first time heard 'Breezin'.

The best random decision my mum ever made.

  • Nujabes brought me here. This man better not be dead as well. Too many talented people dying nowadays before I get a chance to listen to them >_>

  • O! What a tune. Seemingly effortless, graceful, genius. Beautiful, smile-inducing...stuff. I don't even have enough skill to describe it properly.... If you aint hooked by 0:16 I'm not sure I can help you.
