where kennedy promised he would have delivered if he hadnt been shot, why didn the political genius LBJ deliver on vietnam? no he wasnt a genius he just had the ability to push through kennedy's ideas, they were kennedy's not LBJ's, if kennedy had lived vietnam would have ended, civil rights still would have passed, and we would have been better off.

Kennedy was in office for three years, LBJ

passed all this legislation in two. LBJ underestimated the tenacity of

the Viet Namese, they knew the U.S.

would leave someday, they did. More bombs were dropped in Nam than in all world war two. Civil rights legislation was stopped on the senate floor in the fitties by the southern voting bloc. It wasn't Kennedy's idea. As I told you before. Effectiveness as president was LBJ's domain, D.C. was his town.

billl passed in almost 100 years in 1957

by solidifying far northwestern senate votes through horse trading. It wasn't much of a bill but it was a start

toward the presidency and later civil rights laws enacted during his admin.

Humphrey was the most constant

civil rights advocate during this time, LBJ got on the wagon too, against his

longtime supporters from the south.

Maybe you shouldn't rely solely on propaganda films when dealing with such complicated matters. LBJ at worst heard rumors that Jfk MIGHT be a target of violence, just as Obama might be. That doesnt mean he was involved.

Yeah he's the greatest president in US history, I believe. So great that he can plan the assassination so well that, everyone still hesitate who had killed kennedy.

Lyndon Baines Johnson was a great president. He has been historically scorned. He was in a tough position as the successor to JFK....because everything he accomplished was atrributed to JFK, yet he took the sole blame for his failures.

His failure in Vietnam was a game of give and take in return for passage of his domestic agenda..he burnt both ends of the candle and got burned. That's OK. His presidency was responsible for the greatest democratic laws in our entire history. No one comes close.
