I think that Switchfoot went through a time (Oh Gravity era) that they just rebuilt a bunch of their old songs or at least borrowed a lot from them. Like the trumpets at the end of this song. Listen for them at the end of "Amateur Lovers". And, of course, they took I Dare You To Move, changed one chord, and re-released it on their next album as "Dare You To Move".

@FastEddy95 Every band has their own style, and Switchfoot loves to use a variety of instruments. So if they used a trumpet again, no big deal. It sounds great, so what if they've used one before?

Also, for the re-release of Dare You To Move, they felt they had created something really powerful in that song (and they did) and they wanted to improve it, to do it justice. The Beautiful Letdown version is better!

i got a CD of theirs when I was in 8th grade from a neighbor for my conformation. I figured it would suck and i wasnt really excited. Then I listened to it, and listened to it again. i was kinda blown away. That summer i listened to that thing a lot, it has a special spot in my musical timeline. I thought it funny that a handful of years later they become hugly popular, i figured nobody would ever know who they are. awesome. I liked the 3 piece back in the early Ode to Chin NWTBH days tho

I really like all the songs on Beautiful Letdown...all catchy and somewhat mainstream but still with a Christian message. But after that they haven't been quite the same. But then I didn't really listen to Switchfoot before that CD. I think 2 or 3 of those songs were playing on regular radio the year it was released.
