BTW the S40 has a regenerative "blow-off" system and actually makes more horsepower when you hook your modified system up like the factory recirculative system had it... @skunk2rider Mabe you should re-think volvos, take an s60R, it's pretty close to a WRX in weight, it has 400nm from 1950rpm, 300 horsepower tops. It's also 2.5 litre, is also turbo charged (easily modified) , but it has a straight five which not only sounds great, but will give better torque than a boxer 4. Given the fact that it is extremely comfortable, safe and well built car it is in some ways better than a WRX STI. Sure, not all out speed and handling, but volvos aren't as lame as you think

and no, you cannot, the blowoff valve has to have pressure to open, pressure from a turbo. Now you could get a bov simulator.....but those suck, and thats 25 dollars you could put towards a real turbo setup.

I have seen several S40´s pwn subarus and Mitsubishis, i know one guy who beat a spoiled rich guy who had an lamborghini.

Ofcourse you gotta have a T4 with a lot of power, bsr or autotech chip would do the trick.

I got an S40 T4 myself, original engine which is not that impressive, but still works great.

The new one looks too much like S80 and S60, only a bit smaller.

Those are also great cars ofcourse, but the old S40 got that own different look compared to the new one.

My next car could be the new S40, but i´ll probably invest in an S60 R instead.
