@1Larxene1 Lol, that's kind of right. Tae Kwon Do uses almost only kicks in competitions. Hands are mostly there for blocking attacks, not really for attacking. Tae Kwon Do fights are kind of like fencing, get in, hit, get out.

@555hansy this is for points so putting your hands by your face is gonna block you and also try kicking while your hands is by your face. The whole point of having your hands up while fighting is useless, you stop a kick by doing a defensive kick with your head away.

In a street fight its a difference stance. this is WTF (world taekwondo federation) its a sparring stance.

Ugh! There is a reason for the hands being down. If you can't under stand that you are a poor fighter. First off, what is the place that gets attacked the most... the body. The Body gets attacked more than the head, so they have their hands low to protect them. Plus it is a deceptive move. Aiming for head shots takes to long and it is easier to see coming. They seem to have no balance because they spend all their time off the ground. This isn't UFC this is point sparring, get a grip... you mad?

This style of tkd reminds of fight pilots in a dog fight. Meaning that who ever can hold the circle the longest will win the dog fight and get the kill. Meaning that the rapid kicks are used to set up a much stronger and powerfully attack for the ko or the win

What kind of rules are in this sport? Can someone just cover their head and walk towards the opponent grab them and throw them out of ring? They look like they dont weigh much and seem to only kick. No punches?

@Playswithcards Nah you cant just charge in and push them. And anyway by the time you do they'll have landed about 5-6 kicks on your head, even with it covered, thats gonna set you back :)

And kicks are more devistating, powerful, and are much quicker in relevance to how strong they are than punches :) Most people tend not to throw punches when its Continuous.

@MRCakeCup Yeah.... sure you won't :) These fighter choose to have hands down cuz that gives them more mobility and it is because they're masters themselves so they can gamble with that. Also, you have to know that if you cover one part of the body, you uncover other parts of the body, so there's no way you can protect every part of your body all the time. Instead, choose your priorities and go with that. Sometimes, it's more important to be very fast at some point then to cover your head :)
