  • i have a problem with fps. in moment i have 60 fps i one moment and 20-30 fps ? wtf ?

  • can anyone help me i kinda want my mgs3 to run like this but i only have a 2.4ghz intel core 4g ram and a 8800gts i get 50fps ingame and 30 in cutscenes i dunno if skipping frames it the only thing that would help me.

  • Do you know how to make pressure sensivity work? Could you give me any directions?

  • @kazuyaum Check my other comment in this video to elephantman2222.

  • هل يوجد اللغة العربية في هذا المحاكي؟

Does the Arabic language in this emulator?

  • this is like hd collection

  • Mine isn't running so well, i guess it's because the processor, i3 530 2.93... The graphic card it's a hd 6800...

  • Where do I download the actual game? I have the emulator

  • @SoulEraser000 Sorry, can't help you with piracy.

  • Comment removed

  • So i guess it wouldn't run on an AMD athlon x2 64 @ 2.80ghz, HD4670 512mb ddr3 & 3gb ram & Seven SP1 64bits...

It's been a while since i tried MGS 3 on my PC, is the latest version of PCSX2 likely to run much smoother ? Because everytime i tried, wow, it was a slideshow...

  • @TheJoe971 Yeah mainly because your CPU is very old and very slow :P

  • @PCSX2team Well mine was AMD Athlon II x2 240 2.80 GHz and 5GB of ram and HD4200 512mb and it ran between 30-40fps

Upgraded to Phenom II X4 2.80 and 8GB of Ram and it runs even faster

  • @MegamanUltima The Athlon II and Phenom II series are much much faster clock to clock than that athlon 64, they are both different architecture so his FPS would be quite lower even if the processors are running in the same frequency.

  • @PCSX2team Thank you for the info :D

  • can i play with my mouse and keyboards

  • @Scorpionn777 Yes if you configure it properly.

  • @Scorpionn777

You can play it for some minutes but it will play like shit, you will NOT be able to experience the full potential of this game because it uses a lot of analogy, the PS2 pad if 100% analog and all MGS games use it a lot (well, maybe not MGS 1 but it's normal).

  • @PCSX2team do u think a intel core i7 2860qm @ 3,60Ghz would run this game? and have you tryed testing metal gear solid 2?

  • @MrDarkblaze81 Not sure if it will be enough for full speed throughout the game but it should be playable. No, haven't tried MGS2 yet.

  • @MrDarkblaze81 Metal Gear Solid 2 substance is a pc game, so you don't need to worry about the emulator.

  • will intel gma 4500m run this ? =.- anyway.. do i need a gamepad to play this ? :3 and where can i download it :3

  • @CookieeMonstarr666 No the intel GMA is too slow for almost all PS2 games under PCSX2. No you can play with the keyboard too but a gamepad would be easier and nicer. You can download it in the links from the description.

  • /applause hats off to you friend I think you need to share this video with the other posers out there that post videos claiming to run the game full speed when they really don't know shit from shineola and snake sounds like he's half drunk and the game clearly isn't running at 50-60 fps, yours definitely is.That's one hell of a processor you got. You are truly one of the lucky few that can run this game full speed.

  • Would this work on a

    AMD Athlon2 630 X4 @ 2,8Ghz

    GTX 460 768MB Superclocked

    8GB DDR3 Kingstone HyperBlueX 1600MHz RAM

    Windows 7 x64

    ?

  • @snooooop1 No that AMD at 2,8 Ghz will not be enough for this one, it's one of the heaviest.

  • @PCSX2team

    cor i5 2400 3.10ghz

    gtx560ti

4gb ram thinking of upgrading to 8

    would that work?

  • @marcoaranas No that won't be enough for this game (except if you OC the processor to about 3,8 Ghz)

  • Let's clarify on "fully playable". Anyone who really plays this game knows that if you press fire down, it holds your weapon up. Releasing quickly fires the weapon. Releasing slowly will drop the weapon, allowing you to hold up enemies without shooting them (snake says "FREEZE", and can shake down the enemy for supplies). Now is there some combination of dualshock USB AND a controller plugin for the PCSX2 which will allow you to "soft-off" using pressure sensitive buttons on the controller?

  • @elephantman2222 There are some work arounds in the forum. One involves setting the pressure sensitive button on the keyboard, then modifying the sensitivity of that key, then mapping the same key again for full sensitivity on another keyboard key. Crude, but gets you through the game. There are some other workarounds too, if you look around. Thanks for reminding me of this, I'll add it to the known issues.

  • @PCSX2team You can also just tap the weapon inventory button to pop your gun back in the holster without it firing. ;-)

  • thanks pcsx2 i just got worried lol i can download kool and thanks

  • very easy

  • can this wreck my commputer

  • @metalgear11000 What do you mean? No it can't wreck your computer except if your computer had some faulty hardware for example a broken CPU cooler which could overheat your processor. Even then, not the program's fault really.

  • Dear PCSX2 Team, how many (average) fps will I get with a core i5 2310 @ stock speeds (2.9 ghz) ? My old e7300 @ 3.4 ghz is not enough to run the game properly (30-60 fps with speed hacks). Thanks.

  • @rtljaja No idea there is no magical equation that can calculate the FPS given some system. Try it and see.

  • @PCSX2team okay.. but it should be better, right? the i5 has 2x more cache/cores than my old processor. hmm?

  • @rtljaja The MTVU hack might give you more speed. But in terms of Ghz it should be the same, even if the i5 is a newer and more efficient architecture, architecture alone will not surpass a 500 Mhz gap.

  • @PCSX2team Thanks... One more question: what if I buy an older quad core cpu (like the phenom ii x4) with badass frequency and I overclock it to 4+ ghz?

  • @rtljaja Well if you had to, I'd say get an older Intel one and OC it to 4 Ghz+, that would surely do it. A Phenom 2 would be good as well but not sure if it would be enough for this game.

  • @PCSX2team ok :)

  • this is definitely the best game ever

  • how can anyone not like this game its so amazing..

  • just got subsistance for 14 bucks at gstop

  • Comment removed

  • @Cobac Overuse of speed hacks is responsible for the fake FPS readings you get. This is one of the most demanding games on PCSX2 and a 3.1 ghz AMD without being able to use the DX10 mode of GSdx wll not cut it for full speed.

  • @PCSX2team darn it not even a dual core can hadnle this beast :) ty so much at least i have an answer

  • @Cobac Well an intel dual core at 4 Ghz can easily handle it, but you need to overclock for that :P

  • @PCSX2team im not risking oc my cpu to 3.8 on air :) works but im scared

  • @Cobac Are you using a SB i7?

If so, trash the crappy stock cooler that is worse than the regular Core2Quad cooler and get a Silver Arrow or D14.

  • @PCSX2team why dont u guys , make a quad core version )=

  • @zawette If it was that simple it would be done already. Instead, it would be extremely complex to thread PCSX2 further and it could even be a slow down. The 0.9.9 SVN versions already use a third core though.

  • @PCSX2team where can i get it plz ????

  • @zawette pcsx2.net click SVN at the top menu.

  • @Cobac you do realise that CPU is slow as shit for mgs3 ??

  • @blackrack2008 im pretty sure that after 2 months i realised that , thanks anyway :)

  • @Cobac lol ok

  • Can You Post A Link Where I Can Find This Version Of The Pcsx2, I Want Play This Game But I Can Not Because I Have Not Got Configured The Program So Good I Suposed ! My Machine Is A Dual Core At 3.2 Ghz, With A Video Card Ati 5750 Vapor-X And 4 GB Of Ram !

  • @Cauchok You can get SVN versions of PCSX2 at pcsx2.net by clicking SVN at the top menu.

  • @PCSX2team Thank You Very Much ! Sorry, Do You Know If The Game Black Can Be Emulated By Pcsx2 ? If U Know How Configure It, I would appreciate You ! Thanks Again

  • @Cauchok Black only works with GSdx software mode properly.

  • @Cauchok get a ps2 slim for 40 bucks brand new and subsistance for 14 bucks

  • :itsatrap: (cause of spoilers)

  • I think there's an article comparing PS3 HD metal gear 3 remake with PCSX2 HD & PS3 looks to have been redone to look better. There was no contest to begin with. looking forward to future improvements.

  • The multithread update boosted my 1100T-BE performance for games nicely. Tekken 5 is totally flawless now minorly clocked from 3.2 to 3.4ghz on stock & using 69502gb. 50hz.no complaints there... svn 0.9.9.4870 balanced presets.

  • where can i get snake eater or any other games for the pcsx2?

  • @Kevo726 At a store :P

  • my machine runs cod 6, gta iv, shift 2, but mgs3 in emulator goes rly bad, i tried so many configs, can u tell me hows yours?

  • @ftorresdiaz Native PC games cannot be compared to emulating PS2 games on the PC so don't think that way. All the settings/plugins used along with my PC specs can be found in the video's description.

  • Working pretty good on my computer.

Following your guide I'm getting some slowdown (~40 FPS) in the grassy areas (first part in Dremuchij Swampland); any tips?

    i5 750 w/ BioStar mobo , 4 GB DDR3 RAM and ATI 5770

  • @yellowsnow4free It's one of the most intense areas of the game from what I know, so I'd say live with it and it should get better later ;) You could also try turning on some additional speed hacks

  • hey i really need help. when i play sonic riders zero gravity it loads up and then it says the usaul stuff "this game uses autosave feauture blal blah" then it tells me to press x but it wont work, all my other games work except this. ( i use motion joy with my ps3 controller )

but then if i dont use motionjoy and just plug it in to the computer everything else works except for the anolog sticks and they go CRAZY

  • Man I need to get a PS2 and a PS3

  • pleeeeeeeeese help me when i am in the menuu and i click on new game i am returned to the previous scene . please what is the solution

  • @djrafaapro Press circle instead of cross...

  • @PCSX2team

Thaaaaaaaaaaank You Am really Stupid .

But Thank you . played this game in 2006 at my cousins PS2.and since that day i want to play it in My pc because i don't have a Ps2.

Thank you you made my Dream Came True.

    How can i thank you???????????

  • @PCSX2team LMFAO

  • @PCSX2team AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA !!! i can't believe how people can be as dumb as this ! xDDDDDD !

  • @PCSX2team

No, press triangle instead of cross or circle. Triangle is the action button since MGS 2.

  • @djrafaapro fail

  • @djrafaapro use another button, there are 2 buttons X and O in ps2, x make u go to the previous, O progress.

    if is not that, idk.

  • PCSX2 team, keep up the fantastic job!!! I would like to suggest the ability to toggle resolutions (F9 I think) and toggle interlaced settings (F4) in my game pad, as I have to go all the way to my computer to do it, games like SH2 work amazingly by switching between native on FMV's and back to HD in realtime.

  • @rpg1201 The team has considered this but due to the plugin system separating pad usage with the core emulator this would require much more effort that it appears it would. Let's hope some day it's implemented ;)

  • @PCSX2team Excellent keep up the amazing job! I just have another question, im getting slowdowns on the fmvs, im using the latest svn, but i think its because im playing subsistence and not snake eater, or maybe its the settings, im using a 6990m with 2960XM @ 4.5 so its not bottleneck, tips?

  • @rpg1201 Yo man, I was just testing every kind of setting imaginable to get the FMVs running a bit faster, and nothing worked. The game is flawless at 50fps, but the videos and cutscenes are 25-30 max. This might just be the last thing that needs to be fixed though, as everything works perfectly aside from that.

    q9650 + HD6950 + 4Gb DDR2

  • @linkmartin If you're running from the DVD disc try making an ISO and running that instead. If not, the cutscenes are probably even more CPU hungry than the rest of the game in which case you need to OC your processor.

  • @PCSX2team Thanks for the reply. I am running from an ISO I made myself, also tried mounting it in Daemon and also running from disk. The thing that helped though, was changing the 2 sliders in emulation options - now I run everything on full speed with only minor glitches! :)

  • @PCSX2team Yeah, I know. The game is running fantastically, anyway. I remember playing it in a mix of software and hardware mode, some scenes my PC couldn't handle.

And if I'm not mistaken, the "radio photos" weren't present in the past hardware modes, right?

Good work guys, keep up the hard work!

  • @Illusionaire1 Yeah that issue is still there as far as I know. Thanks for the kind words :)

  • It's amazing that almost all the kids here don't realize that the full screen shader/filter is missing and with it all highlights.

  • @Illusionaire1 Yeah well it is noted in the known issues and it does work if you use software rendering ;)

  • Uh I'm on a hexacore i7 3930K at 4.6ghz with the MTVU hack turned on and I still can't maintain a steady 60fps. The game will run at 40-55fps most of the time. There is no way in hell your i5 4.3ghz is getting 60fps steady.

  • @drhycodan You're doing something wrong. Try using my exact settings...or maybe your graphics card can't handle the internal resolution you set making it the bottleneck.

  • @PCSX2team

Uh how could I have set the internal resolution too high if I was using software mode? The FPS I was talking about getting was in software mode. I get full speed 60fps in hardware mode but I don't use hardware mode as there are too many graphic errors.

  • @drhycodan Oh sorry, didn't realize I had to guess you're using software mode? :P Have you set SW rendering threads to about 3? The video clearly states it was taken using hardware mode, so that's how I get 60fps.

  • I HAAATE long intros. Lol

  • I hope MGS3 on the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection looks as good as this.

  • @ventHARAS Right, is your i5 clocked at 4,3 Ghz? No? Then you move along, kthx bai.

  • @PCSX2team wow nvm its amazing what a small overclock can do

i bumped my i5 from 2.8 to 3.6 and it runs ok

but i got the recent update with the 3+ core "hack" and mgs3 runs at 100%...

thanks i guess you guys are the best

  • @ventHARAS so how did he do this then ?? set his ps2 to 1080p ??

  • can this laptop specs run pcsx2 at full speed? i'm thinking of buying it.

Processor Intel Core i7-2620M processor 2.70GHz with Turbo Boost Technology up to 3.40GHz

Operating System Genuine Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit

    Memory 8 GB (4 GB x 2) DDR3 1333MHz SDRAM expandable to 8 GB

Graphic Card AMD Radeon HD 6630 (Speed Mode, Dedicated 1GB)

Intel HD Graphics 3000 (Stamina Mode)

  • @iloveboa1105 It will vastly depend on the game, but you will get acceptable speeds with most I think.

  • @PCSX2team how about final fantasy x? can i get at least 60fps? can i play in hd 720p, even with the best plugins?

  • @iloveboa1105 Yeah FFX will run fine

  • @PCSX2team what if i dont overclock it to 3.4ghz? will it still run at full speed at 2.7ghz?

  • @iloveboa1105 For FFX 2.7 Ghz should still be able to pull off full frames.

  • @PCSX2team i saw this another laptop with processor intel core i7-2640M 2.80GHz with turbo boost up to 3.5GHz. compared to the one i mentioned earlier (intel core i7-2620M 2.7GHz with turbo boost up to 3.4GHz), will the 0.1GHz make a difference when running pcsx2? i know it will run faster but by how many fps?

  • @iloveboa1105 It will but not much, I can't tell you how many FPS 100 Mhz more will give since I'd need a performance curve or something for that :P

  • Sunrise.

  • @ferhound After all these years, I still want to slap the fuck out of him for calling Big Boss a pantywaist.

  • Would this still run full speed with the speedhacks and MTVU off?

  • @drhycodan For the most part yes but there are some scenes where speed hacks help alot.

  • With the new MTVU, can I expect to have Valkyrie Profile 2 playable on my AthlonII X4 620 (2.6GHz) + HD5750 (@ 800/1300) rig?

    Currently it's at ~20-40fps, I consider ~40-50fps playable. =P

  • @vittau I doubt it but why don't you just try it yourself? :P

  • @PCSX2team Because I'm too lazy to bother with nigthly releases, I'll just wait for the final version. =P

  • Aha! I can't wait to try this out! Been wanting to kick back and play some good old MGS3: Subsistence.

  • Do you know how these specs will affect performance?

    - Phenom II x6 1090T 3.4GHz (OC, need to be another aftermarket cooler)

    - 8GB DDR3 G-Skill Ripjaws

    - VTX HD6770 1GB

    - Asus M5A97 Pro

    - Samsung Spinpoint F3 1TB

    Upgraded recently.

  • Oops, forgot to say that the RAM is 1333MHz

  • Pcsx2 ftw:D

  • would mgs 3 subsistence run exactly like this game runs or is that completely different

  • @warisneverfalls From what I read Subsistence is practically Snake Eater with some extras and Online mode so I guess the engine is the same, thus *should* behave the same as this one ;)

  • @PCSX2team cool thanks

  • hello i have this specs:

    Intel core i7 2600k lga 1155 @ 3.4 Ghz

    8 Gb 1333 Mhz

    Asus nvidia gtx 560 ti

    Motherboard asus sabertooth p67

can i run it with this like in the video, and for xenosaga can i run it like in the other videos?

    thanks

  • @GAURON123 Yeah you shouldn't have any problem :) (especially if you overclock that nice processor to let's say 4 Ghz)

  • Best PS2 game (RE4 too...)..

Proud to own the real PS2 version AND to play it on the PC ^^

  • You'll need LilyPad + libUSB + DualShock3 to actually use analog controls.

  • there's another 'known issue" i've seen from this video, some "lightning" effects are missing, i meen, the bloom effects, especially in the cutscenes... hope it'll be fixed in the future releases. (sorry for my bad english)

  • And for the rest of us who don't have expensive gaming rigs...

  • @chargamer An i5 2500k (~220$) along with a decent mobo (~114$) and 8 gb DDR3 ram (~50$), a mid level GF 450 GTS (~120$) and a power supply (~70$) gives us ~574$ (prices taken from newegg). Overclock it and you can play almost every single game at above full speed in resolutions even above full HD. I would not call that expensive.

  • @PCSX2team DAMN!!!! Fuck iBuyPower, i'm doin what you did lol thanks for the headups

  • @PCSX2team but then you won't be able to play PC games at decent settings, but I guess it's one or the other for a budget build, decent CPU or decent GPU

  • @blackrack2008 Well my 9800GTX is still serving me well, most modern games work fine at high settings and 1680x1050. I guess some more demanding ones would not run well on max settings but I'd hardly call that not being able to play PC games at decent settings.... Still, dish out $80 more and you can get a $200 graphics card which would work great in any modern game.

  • @PCSX2team man I envy you guys, I have to pay like 60% extra to get hardware like this in my country

  • @blackrack2008 Same here, I just posted the newegg example to make a point :P

  • @PCSX2team oh okay, i'm planning to get an i5 2500k with an aftermarket cooler and a gtx 560 Ti

how high do you have to OC the CPU to get mgs3 running at full speed ?? How hot does the CPU get when OCed @4.3 Ghz for long gaming sessions ??

  • @blackrack2008 It never gets hotter than 50c which is pretty fine with the cheap cooler I'm using. I think about 4 Ghz should be more than enough for MGS3.

  • @PCSX2team that i5-2500k is truly a monster with a cheap price then, I thought everybody was blowing things out of proportion when I first heard about it

  • @PCSX2team

Yes, that's true. But that's only IF you know how to build your own PC, which most people don't.

  • Love this emulator! Although only one or two games run full speed on my computer, I know in the future I can spend a few hundred to get much better hardware.

  • @PCSX2team Could you please tell me how many FPS would I get running games like Tekken 5, WWE SvR 2010,Burnout 3, Metal gear Solid 3 in my pc at full HD

    Specs-

    Windows 7 ULTIMATE SP1 64bit

    PCSX2 0.9.8

    Intel Core i7 2600k - Oced at 4.5 Ghz

    G Skill Ripjaws X 8GB DDR3 (1600 Mhz)

MSI HD 6950 2GB Twin Frozr III

  • @rajatgod You'll get (way above) full speed with all those (I can't tell you for sure for WWE 2010 since I don't have it but most probably yes)

  • @PCSX2team Who writes even the marks of each component of his PC is because he knows the machine he have. He is probably just trolling :d

  • whats up with those textures? everything looks burnt!

  • @juicedup14 Yeah it's a 'bug' I realized after making the video, will add it to known issues. Post processing effects (like those shadows that were supposed to be there) have been removed from GSdx's hardware mode since they cause heavy gfx glitches making the game unplayable. Everything is there on software mode but it's much slower than hardware and you miss the scaling features...

  • @PCSX2teami hope post processing will be emulated perfectly in the near future there are many games which don't work out like okami :( but i still appreciate the builds nowadays

  • You guys are showcasing games running in a version of pcsx2 that is not yet available. That's a major cockblock tease move tbh :P When can we expect to be able to download this version ourselves?

  • @slaQ83 You mean the ones that can be downloaded here? :P buildbot.orphis.net

Not to mention anyone can compile it for themselves, the source is open and there is even a compile guide.

  • sweet sweet progress :)

    Awsome stuff there guys

  • Looks fantastic! Nice work on the emulator. I might be using it to cast some classics over my live stream, Fatal Frames to go with first. They work well too on my i7. Just wanted to say you guys are awesome for making this software!

  • impressive :d

  • I've got a question, what do you use to record the games?? I am sure you're not using Fraps, cause when I used it game barely worked.

  • @RyuMakkuro use the F12 button it's already built inside pcsx2

  • @youssef0eddoumali Oh, really thanks, that will help a lot :)

  • @RyuMakkuro I'm using the internal recording feature, F12 as said below. Still I get abysmal FPS while recording as well (in this game it went down to even 12 FPS -_- ) but they get automatically sped up to full speed afterwards. At such high resolutions (especially a lossless 1920x1080 video) it is pretty much expected to kill your FPS no matter your PC.

  • @PCSX2team Well, in my case while using Frpas you get about 10 FPS all time, so when it sometimes get down it's technically nothing :D

  • full hd ?? that,s just 720 HD , full HD is 1080 HD

  • @ahackerjack First, the internal resolution the video was recorded into was 1920x1080, full HD. Second, the video was also recorded in 1920x1080 but you couldn't wait until youtube actually processed it fully to enable it...

  • @PCSX2team oh okay , sorry , stupid youtube

  • @ahackerjack "Full HD" is a retarded term anyway, because resolutions that surpass even that exist and have existed for quite some time.

  • @Naroon201 who cares ??

  • @ahackerjack Fuck off, I was just saying. Don't need to be a little fucktard about it.

  • @Naroon201 no no , you got me wrong , I mean , no body clicks on ther 720p HD or 1080p HD , they just see the video as it is , most of people don,t care how the video is HD or etc.
