Oh, so even they spell it “Debra”? What a shame that the makers felt they needed to dumb even the names down so no one makes the mistake of saying “De-boh-rah”. You definitely should read the books, however. They're wonderful and not at all like the show anymore. (Thank the Supreme Being). They went in completely different directions.

I would love to read the books actually, and will probably do that sometime after this season ends. not too long ago (before the 3rd season though) Michael confirmed there will be about 5 seasons that he knows of, and also teased about the possible that suicide may be 1 of the ways dexter is ended... then again, i doubt the audience would want dexter to go like that, i wouldnt :(

Actually, Dexter has emotions, but they come is strong forms. It's more like he doesn't know what emotion is. So when he feels them, he doesn't understand. Discust(sp) for example, he shows that in the first episode. Anger against Paul, in the form of a pan. Fear, Love, etc.... He has the emotions, he just doesn't get them like a normal person, it's harder for him.
